I agree that abrasive and insulting new users need not be specially catered to. I disagree, however, with the attitude that new users who don't read the FAQ aren't worth taking the time to explain things to. I also think that while its important to have standards, there are ways to encourage them that come off a lot better than "meet our standards, or GTFO". The comments here come off very hostile to all newbies, and not just aggressive ones, which I doubt was the intention. — Sterno 1 min ago

My stance with new users is that if they're willing to learn, I'm willing to help. If they're not willing to learn, then they're not worth my time.

Since you can't teach someone who doesn't want to learn. It's not going to happen.

@FAE Andrew Huang (songstowearpantsto) is someone I found before YouTube was even a thing. He had a website where he would do ridiculous song requests, usually by intentionally misinterpreting the request while still actually completing it.

His videos are hit or miss, but this one was great.
