Basically, Marvel makes the movie, Sony does the marketing (which is why we had that terrible spoileriffic trailer and some rather tone-deaf posters) and collects a share of the revenue.
As someone who only sees Marvel movies and generally knows nothing about Marvel comics, it's weird for me to consider Spider-Man being mixed in with X-Men or Avengers, but apparently that's normal in the comics.
X-Men I think is also segregated movie-wise because of a similar deal in the past.
It's a collaboration in that Marvel can't legally do a Spider-Man movie without Sony because Sony has the movie rights, but Sony supposedly didn't touch the development of the film at all.
Which is good because Sony has evil, evil, toxic hands when it comes to comic book movies.
The Marvel comics have lots of crossovers, which always weirded out my partner, who is more used to movie continuities (and other comics) where each one is completely isolated
IIRC Spidey got offered a slot in the Avengers twice.
I largely blame that (continuity reboots) on the Western comics audience's seeming tendency to get really attached to one character (and a specific version of the character at that) and never want their comics run to stop.

@BlueBarren That's a bit of an oversimplification, but yeah, I get it. I'm perfectly willing to have an honest discussion with them, but please at least show some positivity first.
@BlueBarren well, we kinda did screw up a lot of things (see: residential schools, etc) in like...relatively recent memory. So...yeah. It's a complex thing that isn't just "we are all Canadian now"

I downloaded the Server console for minecraft, and tried to portfoward it(i think i did it right). But when i try to run my server....it opens the console and closes it instantly.

HELP! I lost all my minecraft saves, I can't download maps, and NO I didn't take out my saves folder nor did I Delete the folder its in my minecraft folder with all the maps I had previously but they won't show up!? Why is this can anyone help me!?
