Is there a good way to do tail call optimization with the Fibonacci function?

I mean, F_n = F_{n-1} + F_{n-2}, and you can do a substitution one level down to get F_n = (F_{n-2} + F_{n-3}) + F_{n-2} = 2F_{n-2} + F_{n-3}

You can keep doing those substitutions to get down to a F_0 + b F_1, which is just a+b

That's bounded memory usage

There's probably an off-by-one error and/or a transposition error in there, but that's the general idea of how you would do a tail-call-optimizable recursive Fibonacci function

@Ronan Anyway, the point is that in general, if a function can be represented by a recurrence, then you can write it as a tail call recursive function by representing all parts of the recurrence in the function parameters.
