So, at work, the sales department today said we should look into setting up the site so users that use adblocker can't view the site. Quite a few folks chimed in saying why this was a bad idea, but sales still seems to want to do it... annnnnndddd we just got a ticket in from acustomer complaining about the site crashing all the time, with a link to a comment section on our site all complaining about the same thing, and pointing out that if they use adblock all the issues go away
Mostly now I just go to that site, pick a pre-configured option, tweak it ("I want 16GB RAM instead of 8GB, and a slightly better video card!") and click the buy button
@Powerlord They typically do, and I suspect it's the same here, but in 2015 they got in pretty big trouble for some card having significantly less memory than advertised
It was some really weird problem that they (nvidia) did a very poor job addressing. They also had some bad performance on DX12 or whatever number we're on now benchmarks
I think they tried to like... bully a company or something? I don't know. There's so much... "embellishment" on the internet it's hard to tell what really happened
No, it has only 7 out of 8 units active for cost reasons (the GTX980 has everything active), and each of those addresses a part of the RAM. The RAM usually addressed by the inactive unit now needs to be addresses indirectly, which is much slower
@twobugs I seriously considered getting an R9 390 instead of a GTX 970, but I use Linux alongside Windows, and apparently AMD still doesn't play nice with Ubuntu
> The M.2 form factor ensures next-generation platform support with an M.2 PCIe slot. An optional half-height, half-length (HHHL) adapter is also available for many existing motherboards without an M.2 socket.
Now I'm just picturing data packets doing multi-lane drifting back and forth between card and motherboard. I'm also very bored at work. That might be why.
@SaintWacko There are probably calculators for this. You can also just try to find out how much your GPU and CPU use at max and just add a bit to that. Something like 500-600W should be safe for a single-GPU PC
GPUs often list what kind of amperage they need on the power hungry ones. You need to find out if your PSU puts out enough on the 12 volt rail to meet that amperage requirement.
And additionally, if your PSU provides the power molex connectors the GPU needs.
I can't think of anyway to use gold properly. It is quite weak if it's used for tools or armour, and because of its rarity, I'd rather not used it for stuff like that. I'm also not really into decoration, so just a gold wall won't really be the answer I'm looking for! Is gold just useless or is t...
Is it sad that the computer @SaintWacko is building is as powerful as the one I spent like 3 times as much on 4 years ago? And that's ignoring the graphics card being better than the two of mine combined.
@SaintWacko +3.3V@20A, +5V@20A, +12V@45A, -12V@0.3A, +5VSB@2.5A This is under the specifications tab. The +12V you want to look at. For modern cards, ~30 or more is ideal.
The current listings though tend to list by wattage requirements instead of amps. The card claims 225 watts is 'enough'.
I own quite a cool minecraft server but the command blocks are not enabled. I turned it to "true" in the server settings but it's still not working. This is extremely important because it makes sure that the players will not cheat in KitPvP, Survival, etc. Please answer.
I have started to build a mob far in minecraft pocket edition. It is a basic farm build at exactly the height limit. You can see the outside in the picture below.
The problem is inside the spawn platform, the light level stays the same as outside. For example, it looks as if sunlight is shinin...
So I found the khajiit caravan to be the most successful way to level my speech. I'm at speech 83 now and wondering if items that are bartered have any effect on the amount of exp returned. If anyone has any idea please let me know. Thank you.
@StrixVaria Okay, so I just put together a machine that's about $2300 before tax/shipping on CyberPowerPC. It was hard to find perfectly exact matches, but very similar components on NewEgg would have been $2150. Just to give you an idea of their markup
why does the close reason for reocmmendations specify games, hardware and software? isn't it a bit redundant to say games and software seeing as games are software
...because once the next version of our app comes out, they'll have people whose job it is to move each address point for every street address in every county of our state to the appropriate rooftop.
I don't know why. but what @GnomeSlice said earlier reminded me that the winter coat Mom bought as a Christmas gift two years ago is for a person about a foot taller than I am.
Now before you delete this, I desperately need an answer! I'm not allowed to spend money on anything, and I can only have one game. I'm an absolute fan of Minecraft, pocket-edition, but that is, like, ten dollars! I'm talking about Minecraft on an iPad here, in case you didn't realise. All the f...
I am using a Logitech Chillstream, which uses XInput drivers as any Xbox (or Xbox style) controller. However, only the left thumb stick works in-game. The store page claims that the game has full controller support. My controller is basically an Xbox controller with a fan, I've used it on an Xbox...
Now I'm building this in iBuyPower.com instead of CyberPowerPC.com and these sites are so similar it's eerie. They practically look the same. Price was within $50 of each other, but I might have a different case.
There are three things that will break down internet: 1) Half-life 3 being officially confirmed 2) Leonardo DiCaprio getting Oscar 3) Searching Google on Google.
Hmm, I looked a bit through meta but the situation, judging from few mod recommendation discussions I found, seems to be that the community is a bit split on the matter, but that a question trying to solve a specific in-game problem that is not solvable with the game alone might be valid. So I'll just go ahead and leave it to the community to close it if necessary.
@NapoleonWilson If you ask a question and it turns out that the only way to answer it is with a mod, that's fine. Just don't phrase it as "what's a mod to do X?"
