Fair enough. I'm just trying to think of the options that desperation would lead me to. If the bus stops are near enough to one another and the view of the bus route sufficient, I've successfully run further along the bus route, keeping an eye on if it was coming, just to reach some form of contact.

I gave Magic another try recently, but I just prefer something that's well-balanced regardless of monetary investment.

That's why I'm really excited for Sirlin's upcoming game, Codex.

It's got CCG-style gameplay, but has a limited preset cardpool to use.

One of the things that gets in the way of me playing more is that the people who aren't playing feel excluded, but then they don't want to play a strategy game. They'd rather play Apples to Apples.

Apples to Apples (and Cards against Humanity) can be fun on occasion, but I want to play games that require thinking on occasion too.
