I'm really not a fan of closing specific questions as dupes of such catch-all questions. It's rather hostile for the user, and it can make it rather annoying to find that specific fact in the larger and more comprehensive answer

You should make a meta about it. The way we've done things up until now is closing specific questions as a dup of more umbrella questions. I wouldn't be all that opposed to a change, but we would need to hash it out in meta. There's a lot of room for messiness if we start doing that.

Because it does seem silly to close specific questions as umbrella questions in some cases, I agree. We've just never really had a discussion on it in meta.

The information is still in one place, but you don't force users to all crawl through a large answers to find an answer to a specific question in cases like this.

But in cases where the scope of the questions is significantly different, I think the additional attention and rep reward a new question provides is an appropriate incentive to get a good answer to that specific aspect. Closing means that whoever tries to find the answer won't get any reward for it, as they can't easily post only that aspect as an answer to the more comprehensive question

I think there is a use for both, very specific questions and more comprehensive guides. Someone googling for a specific answer probably won't find the guide because the search terms don't match, or will have to search the whole answer for the specific issue. The duplication is minor, and not a real problem.

My PS3 has basically gathered dust for half a year since I'm not feeling the controller. What are my most reasonable options for using a Xbox 360 controller on a PS3 (preferably wireless, but I have both wired and wireless)?

@StrixVaria He's played more than I have, but we both backed it on Kickstarter. It's got some pretty interesting gameplay and the most recent release included the Deckbuilder update, which I haven't tried out yet.

Q: Are books only good for one use?

Don't Starve recently had an update which added Books for Wickerbottom, the Librarian. These books have various effects, some of which are really pretty over-powered. Her ability to instantly grow plants and farms, and her ability to summon Tentacles, both stand out as incredibly game breaking. ...

Q: What do the exclamation point icons mean?

I keep seeing these in the multiplayer, but I'm not sure what they actually are. I've assumed so far that they are to do with the players connection status, but I've no evidence to back that up. Does anyone know what they actually mean?

Besides which, major TF2 updates always used to be on Thursdays until suddenly last year they weren't.
