I don't think offering free internet is going to give them enough additional advertising revenue to offset the costs. Hopefully they aren't going to turn into AOL
@YiJiang'sEvilClone Google isn't likely to turn into AOL, they have more than enough money to have a few of these projects (a lot of them actually) fail, more or less regardless of cost. That's why they experiment
@BenBrocka The overall speedup between having a 1 MB/s down link and a 14 MB/s down link is only noticeable the rather rare times you do bulk downloads. Steam, Humble Bundle, Ubuntu...
@OrigamiRobot Yeah, the only experience with learning was when my Dad tried it, but I should test it with someone who has half way decent hand eye coordination.
@StrixVaria I think it sometimes just hiccups. And it definitely fails if you leave a window open too long or let your computer sleep, I always have to refresh the page when that happens
@YiJiang'sEvilClone Well, I can't remember if I did try those a lot (it's been a year now) but... you're limited by the upload speed, which is everybody else's download speed. It's certainly better, but not as grandiose as the improvement in your own upload speed
@Fluttershy Yeah. Protip: do the challenges, you'll get a lot more upgrades early. I ignored them and I have a bunch of upgrades missing at the end of the game

@Ender True. I had to make due with an iPod touch that my wife bought with Airmiles until we saved up enough to buy an iPhone - and I can guarantee that it will have to last me 5+ years before I can buy another one.
@OrigamiRobot I reluctantly have an iPad 3 since I find it nice to have access to the latest "things" in interaction. However I've never bothered to get a windows phone or mac PC
I do prefer the 4 finger pinch to the home button on the iPad, but I prefer the Android method of just keeping the buttons accessible regardless of orientation

@YiJiang'sEvilClone That's actually a neat feature of it; it's muuuuch easier to close apps if you're paranoid about battery life/network stuff/etc. I love the swipe to remove gesture
Also some people have complained about Android's back arrow being inconsistent for intra- and inter-app navigation, but... eh. Never bothered me too much. I actually don't use that arrow enough

The one time Google actually correctly inferred that a Maps search was somewhere I needed to go, it was rather disappointing to discover that in addition to the GPS, Google Now also needed to be constantly connected to give me estimates of arrival times
@BenBrocka Commuting by train is awesome. Instead of screaming at traffic you just scream at trains leaving early, then you board on the train and do your thing.
