I don't mind the demo - pay for extra features thing. I like the way King Arthur's Gold does it.

You can pay once to unlock all of the extra features.

Then you have to buy more diamonds.

I like the model Vindictus uses now. Free to play, and they just show you an ad on launching and closing of the game. You can buy extra things from their store like costumes, hair styles, et cetera, but they are in no way required. In fact, the people that usually buy the extras usually just do it to support the devs.
