Q: Are bird statues the only way to save?

Aside from the occasional save prompt, the only way I've discovered to save thus far is with bird statues. This is very unusual, since previous Zelda games allowed you to save anywhere. Are bird statues really the only way to save, or am I missing something?

I hate it when people act smug because they discovered a way to abuse a game. I was surprised that my friend had increased his blacksmithing in Skyrim so fast. Turns out crafting cheap leather armor will increase your skill equally as fast as doing expensive dwarven steel armors. So he just skins a ton of wolves, and increases his skill a ton, while I sink all my cash into ores and bars.

@MindWorX, I enjoyed doing that in Morrowind or Oblivion, but I'm not one to act smug about it, I almost think it breaks the game after a while

ie, the wisdom potion in morrowind that increases your wisdom so you are able to make better wisdom potions

@agent86 Yeah, I think it does. But it's pretty tempting now that I know it's possible. And it'd be nice to have some more cash for those grand soul gems.

As my question makes PAINFULLY obvious, I am just in the first little bit of the game yet XD

My only concern with such an idea is that in order to edit your heart contained into a list, you would need to look at the list therefore forcing you to see the locations of heart pieces you haven't found...

You could make it community wiki, or you could just work on it on your own and reap sweet delicious rewards

But if you buy the bow, then save and quit (Press Start + Select, Save and Quit should be an option there), you'll have however many coins were left when you opened the menu.

I didnt realize Skyward needed MotionPlus, so I got the game 15 minutes before GameStop closed, my dad and I drove 5 min down the street, I realized I didn't have a MotionPlus controller, and we RUSHED back - got there at 4;58, and managed to get the controller. Thank goodnes..

I've taken care of it.
