@SQB AFAIK, SE has access to the votes as they come in, but they aren't sharing for obvious reasons.

Besides, the final tally can't be run until the election closes.

Sure, I imagine they can monitor who is 'winning' at any given time, and they'd want to catch abnormal voting patterns early on.

last year, there was apparently a staff change and the new person didnt realize they were supposed to send them out or something

then promised to do it soon, and then i never heard from them again until i poked them via the contact form

At one point I received a box of stickers that had stuff for scifi.se and SE.

Out of curiosity, I ran the results through all the other election methods in OpenSTV's short list. The two winners are the same no matter what I pick. Third place is usually Jack but under a handful of methods comes out as Jason instead.
