But half the time I write half an answer then edit it to all it's glory rather than actually thinking. Then the other half of times I don't bother even posting
@RichardU For me -- I was motivated to hit some goals, which I have. Now time and motivation are what keeps me from moving up to the number 9 spot. @Snow will have me beat soon.
As a Mod -- he sort of has to hang out here. ( Not chat specifically but on the site )
How to deal with a situation when a scrum team colleague wants to cherry-pick interesting topics, manage and oversee the work of others and gets the Manager and PO's unofficial support?
Our company was bought and the new owner implemented the scrum process with the typical flat organisational ...
@MisterPositive Hi there! Well, things are going very ... sleepy. Partying neighbors. Heh... Really looking forward the weekend. Hopefully those Air Bnb neighbors will be gone by then
Thank you for taking time to type it all. You are right, the miscommunication and favoritism made us a resentful bunch in a matter of days. The PO doesn't want to vacate their position; they want to keep a dedicated helper-friend despite it being completely out of line with the scrum process. I have edited the question accordingly. — E.S.4 mins ago
@Twyxz not sure on average.. but the federal min wage is $7.25ph - it is higher in some states though (and can actually be higher on a per-city level as well!)
there was a question talking about someone wanting or needing a raise and he said he could easily get $12k
thats only 9294 pounds
I earn more than that... and that's min wage here and if the OP is earning less that's ridiculous. I understand living costs are lower there if you don't have to pay healthcare (touchwood) but still all the answers are saying leave so I guess my shock is correct
@Twyxz depends on where you live. There are still places in the US where you could live off of that. You wouldn't be comfortable, but you could live. You'd probably have to do a bit of hunting, and growing your own food, but yes, doable
@Twyxz also, if you were working fulltime in the USA, you'd never make below 14,500
Federal min wage is 7.25 per hour
@Twyxz there are places in the USA where you can still buy a house for under 50,000
@motosubatsu I was in an area in Colorado where one could live comfortably on the min wage.
@motosubatsu the idea of a federal min wage in the USA is insanity because in the cities, esp on the coasts, you couldn't even eat on that, and in the middle of the country, you can live on it, albeit not comfortably, and in some very remote areas, you actually could live comfortably on it.
@motosubatsu yes, I've heard that. London is quite the city. It's hard for Americans to conceive of that city, as it is the political, financial, and entertainment center of the nation, where we have it spread out between Washington, New York, and Hollywood.
I understand that London has a massive dichotomy, with only the very rich and very poor living in it now, with a few outliers in the middle class doing very poorly
@RichardU this is very true.. the middle class can't afford to live there, the poor can't afford to leave and the rich can do whatever the f##k they want
@RichardU I wonder if it is more a case of no-one else really wanting that poison chalice right now
@motosubatsu New Jersey is getting to be untenable right now. Same deal, The Rich can do as they please, the poor collect and can't leave, and the middle class is reenacting that famous basement scene in Pulp Fiction, playing the part of Ving Rhames.
tbh I'm so sick of everything to do with "Brexit" that if you just gave me an option to vote for something that simply promised I'd never have to hear the "word" ever again I'd be like "sign me up!"
@motosubatsu Hearing the EU clamor over it has be interesting. Just from the alarmism, it is readily apparent that they need you more than you need them.
@Twyxz and I'll probably get hit with a string of stupid comments regarding a one in a million scenario where it wouldn't be the case, how I'm a corporate shill, and if someone can turn it into a victimization narrative, they will
@RichardU actually I had that experience here, and I seen some people say really mean things, so lesson learned of not sharing in future. One of reason I don't come on chat anyone
Worse thing is how can u judge someone whom u doesn't know. I think I get annoyed with judgemental people about my life. I never had been judgemental to anyone.
but speaking back on WB, I do have my own world that I wanna share. call it imaginery. If I had been able to draw. I would be a artist in movies e.g visual commuicator
It sounds like you're engaging this person, which is absolutely the only motive a troll has. You've also managed to draw attention to your company.
There's an ancient saying that dates all the way back to floppy disks.
PLEASE DON'T FEED THE TROLL
You're feeding him.
Stop it.
@Nofel Ah, I remember the time, I, a friend, and a guy I didn't like (and visa versa) trolled a bunch of neo-nazis right off of the board they'd hoped to take over. Good times.
I just had a bit of an epiphany. My generation was the last one to grow up without the internet. We didn't have "block buttons". We had to deal with bullies face to face.
@AaronHall when I go on manic fugues, I have too much energy
I am glad to see an office concentrating on work they can get work finished so more time for social life- I wish more were like this - no interruptions - Have your social life outside work - — Mark33 mins ago
RUDE COMMENT! Anyone else care to flag? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I'm sorry if I'm asking a silly question and the answer should be obvious but when I visit Workplace, no matter which tab is selected, I mostly see questions with several answers already in place. Every once in a while I see questions with no answers but only rarely. SE used to have a listing for...
I commented on the answer in this question yesterday. There was a lot of discussion going on where one person's responses were all deleted (so it looked like multiple people responding to no one). I made a comment (very similar to the one I re-posted a few minutes ago) which was deleted.
I assu...
