Thank you for taking time to type it all. You are right, the miscommunication and favoritism made us a resentful bunch in a matter of days. The PO doesn't want to vacate their position; they want to keep a dedicated helper-friend despite it being completely out of line with the scrum process. @Twyxz not sure on average.. but the federal min wage is $7.25ph - it is higher in some states though (and can actually be higher on a per-city level as well!)

there was a question talking about someone wanting or needing a raise and he said he could easily get $12k

I earn more than that... and that's min wage here and if the OP is earning less that's ridiculous. I understand living costs are lower there if you don't have to pay healthcare (touchwood) but still all the answers are saying leave so I guess my shock is correct

Also, the cost of living is all over the place in the USA as well.

@Twyxz depends on where you live. There are still places in the US where you could live off of that. You wouldn't be comfortable, but you could live. You'd probably have to do a bit of hunting, and growing your own food, but yes, doable

@Twyxz also, if you were working fulltime in the USA, you'd never make below 14,500

@motosubatsu I was in an area in Colorado where one could live comfortably on the min wage.

@motosubatsu the idea of a federal min wage in the USA is insanity because in the cities, esp on the coasts, you couldn't even eat on that, and in the middle of the country, you can live on it, albeit not comfortably, and in some very remote areas, you actually could live comfortably on it.

@RichardU same with here and london.. min wage wouldn't even touch the sides of then enormous financial black hole that is living in london

@motosubatsu yes, I've heard that. London is quite the city. It's hard for Americans to conceive of that city, as it is the political, financial, and entertainment center of the nation, where we have it spread out between Washington, New York, and Hollywood.

I understand that London has a massive dichotomy, with only the very rich and very poor living in it now, with a few outliers in the middle class doing very poorly

@motosubatsu New Jersey is getting to be untenable right now. Same deal, The Rich can do as they please, the poor collect and can't leave, and the middle class is reenacting that famous basement scene in Pulp Fiction, playing the part of Ving Rhames.

tbh I'm so sick of everything to do with "Brexit" that if you just gave me an option to vote for something that simply promised I'd never have to hear the "word" ever again I'd be like "sign me up!"

@RichardU actually I had that experience here, and I seen some people say really mean things, so lesson learned of not sharing in future. One of reason I don't come on chat anyone

Worse thing is how can u judge someone whom u doesn't know. I think I get annoyed with judgemental people about my life. I never had been judgemental to anyone.

Very good. My company is doing well, in part because of investment in IT, and I'm in front of some important initiatives, so perhaps I'll do ok.

@RichardU that's a learning opportunity for the spell-check - I always "add to dictionary" (after carefully checking the spelling...)

I just had a bit of an epiphany. My generation was the last one to grow up without the internet. We didn't have "block buttons". We had to deal with bullies face to face.
