@EnthusiasticStudent Sometimes your "stock" comments seem out of place. For example:
This does not provide an answer to the question. To critique or request clarification from an author, leave a comment below their post - you can always comment on your own posts, and once you have sufficient reputation you will be able to comment on any post. — Enthusiastic Student 2 hours ago
This is a new user and your comment probably is only going to confuse him/her. I agree the answer is not very good, but it isn't a critique or asking clarification. It doesn't seem like there is an issue of reputation.
@Omen welcome back

@StrongBad Thank you for the comment. I only voted to close that answer because of its low quality and chose the option as I though it is a comment. The comment is produced automatically...
In regards to this: academia.stackexchange.com/questions/31451/… , to my recollection in public university in america, professors were not allowed to talk about their political opinions in class (that was not related to politics). Is this the case?

@EnthusiasticStudent I didn't realize the comment was automatically produced.

@StrongBad I did not write that comment and I think it is produced automatically. First I opened your chat message and the linked comment, I wondered to see that comment in front of my username... I thought somebody else had written it but then I thought it is produced automatically when I voted to delete that answer.
@StrongBad see this link, the message is appeared after I reviewed the post because it is flagged as low quality post and I voted to delete it because I thought it is a comment not an answer. academia.stackexchange.com/review/low-quality-posts/15470

<rant on> My student and her mother do not understand that the only reasonable accommodation that I can make for someone who has missed 50% of the lab sessions is to let the student retake the lab. <rant off>

@StrongBad The review queue allows you to place an automatic comment when you flag for Delete. The first option results in no comment, but these are the canned options: i.imgur.com/P5XEjLG.png

@user1938107 I'm not aware of any such rule. Maybe at certain universities or in certain departments, but in most cases it is allowed to talk about politics in class, as far as I know. But in technical subjects, at least, most professors wouldn't do so simply because their political beliefs have no impact on the material being taught

@user1938107 I don't know of any rule either. That being said, it's probably inappropriate to talk about politics in certain subjects. Politics can and do come up in, for example, political science and other humanities, as well as in ethics courses in the hard sciences. If the professor is using his position to tell you to vote for Mayor West in the next Quahog election, however, that's inappropriate.

Not sure if this matters, but I asked a question recently. I intentionally omitted the source that I read in order to not 'expose' the professor in question. There are now 2 comments which include sources that contain the professor's last name. Can/should they be removed? If they shouldn't be removed, I'll just add the source to my question. I was trying to protect the privacy of the professor.
The comments in question are: 1 and 2.
