That's true as well. It's a common sort of question. However, this issue really comes down to idiomaticness. Both expressions are grammatical, but the real question lies in whether either of them is idiomatic in that context.

Not in real life is just an expression that denotes something you do on a computer or over the internet, I guess, regardless of whether you actually control these actions, even in this virtual world.
Say someone lends you money and when you return it they say thanks. What is the proper reply for that? It’s not your welcome or no problem or any of the usual replies to thanks.
