@JimReynolds finally a word from him. When did he leave that message?
Day 29 after operation. I've even forgotten I'm a renal transplantee
Which is both good and bad. Good because I can function norma . . . even better than a normal person
Doing lots and lots and lots of cardio to lose the pounds I gained while on dialysis
And damn, now that I have that extra load of urea and creatinine off my brain, I can think better and faster. I can feel it
Bad because I might drop my guard and germs, especially those from aliens, could infect me
Doing 700 minutes of brisk walking at a pace of 4 mph every week
Which is kinda an improvement considering 10 minutes of walking while on dialysis meant I'd breathe heavily and feel dizzy
I could do absolutely no amount of exercise for 14-ish months
Did you know that the mean BMI for dialysis patients on 2009 was around 29.2?
I'm also really happy I heard something from Damking. Tell him to keep that positive attitude. Believe me or not it's half the cure no matter what the problem is
You hear numerous tales of badassery and willpower defeating impossible cancers. I've actually seen people like that, so they're not fairy tales
Unfortunately, however, at least here, patients are never educated on how to MENTALLY deal with their condition
Combine that with the fact that they tend to act stupid and cause trouble for themselves, and you get the grim reaped.
BTW, did I mention I started learning German?
I also have more important studies, so I can't devote as much time as I'd like, but since it's my fifth language already, I have some experience on what to and not to do
So it'd probably take not so long before I get to, say, B1 fluency
First impression? It's neater and funnier than English
But I guess that's because it's new, so
It's definitely more intuitive for the middle Eastern learner than English
Case in point, Aitch doesn't even sound like h
Once you get used to weirdness of "ch" and "r" in German, the pronunciations are way closer to the spellings than in English. Natürlich
English borrows from everything and everyone
BTW, best thing about the transplant? I can have lots and lots of yogurt again. Yogurt is NOT icky @Colleen
One other thing I noticed is no matter how much I eat during the three main meals I still end up receiving less Calories than the weight loss calculators out there recommend
So as long as I'm not sedentary I will lose weight
And attempting to lose weight didn't mean changing food habits for me, merely not having the leisurely bar of chocolate or creamy biscuits every couple of days
K, maybe gotta go back to studying plant biology. Plants are so badass.
