I'm just not a big fan of this channel.
@flawr Extra Credits too? :3
I swear nothing is dropping corpses today
just your pet eat all of them
@quartata can't, busy right now. :(
@ThreeFx I'm not really that much interested in game design.
21:02
@El'endiaStarman I feel like the Mario part is stolen from here
@quartata Is that some kind of saying?
@quartata RIP
@TùxCräftîñg Yeah, some bad luck on that tin.
I find it hard to believe I couldn't get any corpses though
Anyone here know the Tangram puzzle?
I hope you learned a few things anyways
21:03
teleporting traps are pretty helpful
@TùxCräftîñg wait, if there are no corpses then what will be resting in peace?
@flawr Me!
I need some ideas.

A: Sandbox for Proposed Challenges

flawrSolve Grid-Tangram This is just a rough outline under development, feel free to share thoughts! The Tangram is a dissection puzze made from seven shapes: Five different sized triangles, a parallelogram and a square. Given a shape, the goal is recreating the shape using all the pieces and withou...

My wisdom is so bad this run
btw if you guys are takling about nethack there's a room for that -> chat.stackexchange.com/rooms/44570/nethack

Hey, are naturally occuring iron bars new in 3.6?
Huh, sometimes generate on closets
Too bad I don't have a pick
That's new though. interesting
i am playing on NAO
i will try to not die on level 1 this time
OK, so that u is your pony
Unique to knights
@TùxCräftîñg #untrap that
21:16
@Downgoat im gonna sleep, before i go, how's powerlevel9k going
It'll drop some arrows hopefully
Holy shit, did you suddenly enter warp speed 10
@flawr One possibility for input is to just give the solid black shape, and require programs to output the tiles with white outlines. I feel like that's most true to the Tangram puzzle.
21:18
@TùxCräftîñg Use <number>s instead of mashing s
It's safer because you'll stop when you encounter a monster
Also 3 turns is probably not enough to find a door even with your good wisdom
I'd do 10s
You could come up with an input/output that works via labeling the pieces and giving their positions and orientations, which would theoretically open up the challenge to more languages, but I think sticking to making it a visual challenge is more interesting.
Night
Bai
wat
leather armors are spawning everywhere o_o
That's because the map shows what you last saw
So as far as you know the leather armor hasn't moved
If you go back you'll see it disappear
See?
21:22
That confused me the first time too
You should use travel
By the way, save as much of those apples/carrots as possible. Since your pony is herbivorous you'll probably need it
@El'endiaStarman And what about the output? Perhaps in different colours?
21:28
> Core dumped. You only feel hungry now.
wat
my stomach segfaulted?
8
@flawr Well, just require that the tiles are distinct from each other.
@El'endiaStarman 50 7 shades of gray
and i died
again
@TùxCräftîñg It's a joke. It happens whenever you eat an apple
In other news I just remembered I had a potion of water on me
Meaning I could drank it for 10 nutrition
And saved myself during that previous run
I feel dumb now
21:35
huh
it's a weird joke
restarted a game
@Downgoat Goats might be cool, but they are never as cool as sheep:
@flawr ;_; y u do dis
@flawr wat that's a goat
@Downgoat nah, sheep
oh noh, it is not ieven the minimal grid
Pretty damn sure it's a goat you can tell by its upper lip
21:52
Oh boy, I just really broke something :P
My cursor went all over the place and then NH segfaulted
I think that's the first segfault I've run into yet
I think it was a stack overflow from accidentally including a pline in botl
@Qwerp-Derp Right now it looks like ! has highest precedence, is that okay?
@El'endiaStarman Should it be codegolf?
pop-con?
or is it too narrow for a pop con?
Not sure what semi-objective quality there is to judge for a pop-con. code-golf would be better.
@Qwerp-Derp Wait that's not okay, fixing in a few hours
@El'endiaStarman I'm sure there are many creative ways to go about it=)
But you're right.
But I fear it might be too complex for a code-golf.
22:00
on time or most puzzles solved?
Also, we've had plenty of complex challenges before...
Time is quite cumbersome.
Most puzzles solved would require a large amount of testcases, right?
@El'endiaStarman Yeah, with various amounts of success=)

-.-
Are chars signed by default in C?
depend of the cc afaik
I'll do signed char just to be safe then
I have no idea why this doesn't work.
@quartata Why do you need signed/unsigned chars?
@flawr Because I need a number from -128 to 127?
22:11

A: Is char signed or unsigned by default?

Alok SinghalThe book is wrong. The standard does not specify if plain char is signed or unsigned. In fact, the standard defines three distinct types: char, signed char, and unsigned char. If you #include <limits.h> and then look at CHAR_MIN, you can find out if plain char is signed or unsigned (if CHAR_MI...

tl;dr never make assumptions on the sign of char
Hence why I said I'll do signed char

@uoɥʇʎPʎzɐɹC that wasn't obvious, and it could have meant either person. Just avoid making jokes like that at all please.
The joke failed miserably.
It was super duper ineffective!
Luckily Easterly Irk isn't a chat mod.
no, but I'm sure other people noticed it. And there are 5 mods in the room, they just chose not to act.

.o/
@DJMcMayhem it's quite simple on some languages, and painful in others, but possible in all turing complete language.
@ConorO'Brien Wow, I was just about to go to sleep :D
Wait
How would one make a 2CM quine?
@BetaDecay nice! :D
scary
23:56
How do you know it's possible in all TC languages?
because any TC language can calculate its own Godel numbering, which is roughly equivalent to a quine
@ΛεγίωνΜάμμαλϠΨΠʹ 2CM?
@ConorO'Brien 2-C ounter M achine
That's way over my head
well, let me rephrase. Any TC language with proper output schematic
23:57
I've never seen a vim quine. I'd really like to
let me find my source
Right, now I'm going to go to sleep :D
