srs, is it hard to provide auto-identation, syntax coloring and autocomplete in less than 2 GB?
gtg bai
auto-indentation, syntax coloring no
auto-complete? yes
21:15
@LeakyNun I'll create a sample program with all of the constructs to test this code out, and let you know how it works
ಠ_ಠ
i open intellij => i click on file => intellij crash
@Doorknob Do you know any Nethack forks that add thirst? I want to see how they implement it
My original plan was to modify eat.c but then I realized that means metabolism and thirst would be synchronized which is not desirable
@quartata Hm, no, I don't. Maybe search the wiki?
@TùxCräftîñg take a look at the new SILOS interpreter... Also you may be interested in the NetBeans IDE
:O u refactored +1
what the heck is this updating index in intellij?
it shows up every 10s
21:26
@TùxCräftîñg Maven sync
I think the other big modification I'll be making is modifying monster generation. That's gonna be probably a giant mess
you're using Maven?
@TùxCräftîñg send that +1 to @LeakyNun
@NathanMerrill It occurs even when you aren't.
it only occurs if files change
(outside of the editor)
but i dont even touch the files ._.
21:27
Hmm.
In NetBeans at least I'm used to seeing it sync up to the central repo at least every 10 minutes.
i removed the created by comment and IntelliJ go mad
I just assumed that's what it was
@LeakyNun your patch sped it up by a factor of over 100 times (didn't even bother to wait through the benchmark on the old one after it took two minutes for something that took a second on your version) 'nough said thanks for your help! Your pull request has been merged as I saw that you had tested it for all examples. Loved your description
@flawr Holy moly....
21:37
@anyonewhoarefamiliarwithnetbeans How do i change the username?
when i create a file this automagically create a javadoc with a @author
but the @author is the name of my windows user
@El'endiaStarman Apparently it was real (from 1985 or so) but the pilot was a trained stunt pilot.
@flawr Well, that makes sense. :P
Hmm, were the landing wheels actually stuck?
Oh, and did you ever find out how good snakes' infrared vision is?
@TùxCräftîñg Each file has a basic template. You need to change that template.
oh, netbeans
that's how it works with IntelliJ, at least
> zbarimg -q -- -
^ first to figure out what it does earns a cookie
esolang idea: the code is the cmdline arguments
21:42
@El'endiaStarman It seems yes.
@TùxCräftîñg I can do that! $ brainfuck <(echo -n '+[]')
@ΛεγίωνΜάμμαλϠΨΠʹ Conjugates an image?
@El'endiaStarman no, but good guess ;p
@ΛεγίωνΜάμμαλϠΨΠʹ i mean a thing like coollang 1 2 --add 3 --mult --print
Didn't even notice the "z-bar"
21:43
@ΛεγίωνΜάμμαλϠΨΠʹ it does a weird thing with a file called -
@TùxCräftîñg because Java is bloated
The answer:
zbarimg: scan barcode
-q: quiet
--: stop processing options
-: read from STDIN
Do I need to quote the "y do I need jar jvm jdk class Java to make hello word" message again
@El'endiaStarman I did read quite a lot about it, but it is obviously qutie difficult to think of it in terms of a resolution. But apparently many snakes have heat sensing organs on their "nose" and sometimes near their eyes, and they are super sensitive, can aparently detect heat radiation differces down to about 0.05°K and are apparently also very good at connecting the heat sensing input with the visual, as well with hearing and feeling of vibrations through their whole body.
The answer:
zbarimg: scan barcode
-q: quiet
--: stop processing options
-: read from STDIN
21:46
gimme teh cookie
@TùxCräftîñg Ah-hahaha cheater...
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
(Sorry, there is a 0 missing, it was about 0.002°K) (And aparently they can also detect movement with those organs only sometimes up to a distance of a meter or so.)
@TùxCräftîñg ಠ_ಠ
Wow, 6 dumb faces in 6 messages
21:48
@flawr That's pretty cool, actually. So snakes offload some/a lot of processing power as far as identifying what things to be interested in to their heat-sensing organs, huh? (Along with hearing and vibration sensing.)
5 messages moved to Trash
@DJMcMayhem Not anymore! :P
What is XCompose?
@El'endiaStarman It is probably impossible to rally know how this works, but it would be certainly an interesting experience=)
CMC: negate a list of numbers
What's that term when you allocate memory you don't free?
21:49
leak?
@ConorO'Brien Like, just negative?
@DJMcMayhem yup.
@trichoplax Yes, ty
[1, 2, 3] => [-1, -2, -3]
@ConorO'Brien Neoscript: {l|l:map((-)0)} i think
(too lazy to test)
21:50
@ΛεγίωνΜάμμαλϠΨΠʹ Trash in 3, 2, 1...
@ConorO'Brien Mathematica, 3 bytes: -#&
@TùxCräftîñg that's pretty cool
@Adnan Overkill in this case. :P
-1* in MATL and a bunch of others probably
@ConorO'Brien f(n,l)int*n;{while(--l)n[l]=-n[l];}
21:51
Hahaha
@DJMcMayhem Oh - haha - I was joking because I couldn't think of the term for when it's correct - so my helpfulness was accidental... :)
@ConorO'Brien What is the output for [1, 0, -1]?
@ConorO'Brien currying
@ΛεγίωνΜάμμαλϠΨΠʹ okay I have to ask, what on earth is that? Is mathematica functional or something?
@Adnan [-1, 0, 1]?
21:51
What he said ^
Okay, ( in 05AB1E
@ReleasingHeliumNuclei is this C or something?
@ConorO'Brien mathematica is mathematical
@ConorO'Brien Jelly, 1 byte: N
21:52
@ConorO'Brien Uhh.. yeah
@ConorO'Brien yes, C. It takes the array and the size of the array, arrays in C don't know their lengths.
It's mostly based on pattern matching
@Adnan does 371486 automatically vectorize?
@RohanJhunjhunwala look up
@ConorO'Brien Yes, 05asdf does that
21:53
For example, the internal form of my solution would be Function[Times[-1, Slot[1]]]
@ConorO'Brien thanks
oh, that clears things up:P
CMC: Do this CMC
@ReleasingHeliumNuclei that's fine
21:54
@ReleasingHeliumNuclei is that true?
@RohanJhunjhunwala is what true?
@RohanJhunjhunwala If it's a pointer to an array, then yes
@ReleasingHeliumNuclei that there is no way of getting an arrays length in C
Another CMC: Make all numbers in a list negative. [3, 2, -2, -3] becomes [-3, -2, -2, -3]
@RohanJhunjhunwala sizeof on static arrays, otherwise no
21:54
@Adnan +-@ in a new lang I'm working on. right now called "fnuc", but am still name shopping
Seems like you should use SILOS where you don't have any arrays
@Adnan Mathematica, 7 bytes: -Abs@#&
@RohanJhunjhunwala static arrays are made with * instead of []
@ΛεγίωνΜάμμαλϠΨΠʹ Oh, that is very trivial modification haha
so how to find an arrays length in C ?
21:55
@ConorO'Brien Brain fnuc?
NUll terminate?
@Adnan Python lambda l:map(lambda x:-abs(x),l) #verbositylevel10
@RohanJhunjhunwala if it's a static array, strlen(). Else, you can't
@ReleasingHeliumNuclei that seems incredibly dubious
@ReleasingHeliumNuclei strlen stop on null byte
21:56
@Adnan no, more along the words of func => fnuc and function => funciton. there is, however, no relevance between the two.
@ReleasingHeliumNuclei but you can have a sentinel at the end right?
for static arrays there is sizeof
for non static arrays
To find an array's length: sizeof(arr) / sizeof(arr[0])
@ConorO'Brien Oh, I see
21:56
@Adnan the heck???
Hahahahahaha
xD I was wondering if you saw that
I only left for 10 minutes and there's 83 messages
we were tripping out while you were gone
21:57
@quartata It's because of me obviously
@Adnan Who me?
everyone
@Adnan I'll change it if you pick a good one
@TùxCräftîñg \0 is probably sentinel thing. Lets imagine an array 'h','e','l','l','\0','o'. write(1,array,sizeof(array)); would print hell

@Adnan If this message I am responding to reaches 15 stars, I'll change my avatar to it.
@DJMcMayhem Working on it now :3
Dammit, still two to go.
@ReleasingHeliumNuclei huh
@ConorO'Brien Yeah, it got 13 / 15
21:59
Everyone go back into the past stars to star ADnan's post
it'll only be temporary though. I'm changing it back after Halloween ends
\o/ i have found how to change @user in netbeans
@TùxCräftîñg netbeans is a top notch ide
Dear citizens of the room known as "The Nineteenth byte", If you could lend me a minute of your time, it would be muchly appreciated. There is a sick dragon in desperate need of stars. If you could click on this link, and add a star, you would be helping to save a life.

Give a star, save a life.
1 star = 1 pray
22:01
@DJMcMayhem It's already reached 15
We got 15 stars! That was fast
wat
wait
SILOS is fast ಠ_ಠ
@TùxCräftîñg it's is the speedy language of the future
22:02
hm, 16 stars
now just to compile it into asm
Thanks to Leaky Nun's powerful optimizations
(shouldnt be hard except for the GUI)
I'm apparently good at making people star things :P
star dis plz
22:03
Please do not star this post
As you wish.
get rekt
Ah. Those of you who are newer to this chat: you're trying too hard.
Someone starred it...
:(
22:04
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
@ConorO'Brien eh. I decided to go for it after I saw the ,000,000 people have astarred this message
Tends to happen if you ask people not to star...
Aug 4 '14 at 16:35, by Martin Büttner
(please don't star this)
I need a friendly neighborhood moderator to refresh my profile
(14 stars)
22:05
@ConorO'Brien you need to not change your avatar. That way, this entire "Star this post X times so I'll do Y" will have less traction
@NathanMerrill I'm an honest person.
can I give you a -1 star?
@ConorO'Brien Will an out of town mod do?
@trichoplax friendly will work :)
Done :)

hmm. the only bad thing about this is that me, adnan, tux, and Nathan look the same
somewhat, anyhow
@ReleasingHeliumNuclei thanks for doing the cmc in SILOS I do appreciate it
22:07
@ConorO'Brien we used the same pattern for this deep dream thing
@TùxCräftîñg except for nathan
@Adnan actually, it's -+@ >_>
Oh hahaha
You guys look like coal miners
3
+-@ would be negate then abs, but -+@ is abs then negate
is there a chat extension to make avatars bigger? :/

Nice :)
Or, f(n,l)int*n;{while(--l)n[l]=-abs(n[l]);}
CMC: given a string, print the first byte, newline, first two bytes, newline, first three bytes, newline etc. For example "abcd" --> "a\nab\nabc\nabcd"
So many things about goats on the starboard....
Oh god, what happened to your profile pics?
bad things
bad, bad, bad things
@Dennis TL;DR: a filter that makes them darker and looks like they are made of tiles.
Great. I mainly recognize people by their avatars...

that's pretty much it

@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ Yours was pretty nice though
@DJMcMayhem l,i,j;f(char*n){l=strlen(n);while(i++<l){for(j=0;j<i;)putchar(n[j++]);puts("");‌}}

Yeah, that one was far and away the best.
I liked flawr's too
CMC: What's the most inappropriate time/place you've ever been in while chatting on TNB?
@DJMcMayhem in the toilet?
@quartata really?
i liked flowr
Isaacg's was also interesting, but also very creepy
22:26
That's not bad. I meant like, it would inappropriate to be on TNB in a meeting.
flowr evolved into flowy!
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ Absolutely. It's the most human one
Is there a better way to phrase that?
^^^^ this is creepy
22:26
Compare the eyes on the two for one. And the background and fur
@quartata okay

@Adnan the photoshopping is well hidden with this

@DJMcMayhem I wonder if 2 people in the same meeting have ever talked to each other on TNB
2
@trichoplax I mean, I'd like to think we would have known
@trichoplax while they're in the meeting
@Dennis refreshify?
@quartata I did the Deep Dream instead of the Deep Style
22:28
@DJMcMayhem Yes I meant while in the meeting
@Adnan Ah.
@quartata I was thinking they'd know each other, but I suppose they could both not realise the person they are talking to is in the same meeting
I wonder if two people who know each other on TNB have ever met IRL and not known it
I've met very few people from IRL so probably doesn't apply to me
I might actually get a friend irl on here
22:30
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ sighs
he's a hacker person
@DJMcMayhem I'm pretty certain I haven't.

it'll only be temporary though. I'm changing it back after Halloween ends
There seems to be a virus spreading through the avatar bar
@Dennis But how would you know for sure? :P
22:31
@ConorO'Brien When is that again?
@Dennis sometime before christmas and after labor day
Graduation day - 1st Nov

@TùxCräftîñg 'g?

this doesn't look too bad
@ConorO'Brien just to be symmetrical

@DJMcMayhem Well, I doubt a lot of us have traveled to Paraguay
this period of time will be known as the "trippy tnb" phase, abbreviated as TTNB :P
I began sleeping early
I wonder what happens when you reach level 6
Which deep dream style is the creepiest?
