I just found a program I wrote when I was 9.

It's a batch file for clearing the screen.

It works by writing 10 empty lines to a batch file in the C:\ directory with a for loop

Then it calls that file 5 times with another for loop

Then it deletes the batch file of empty lines

How did all of you start programming so young???

I am sad. I just deleted a program from when I was 8 by emptying my trash.

I didn't write a line of code until I was 18 and even then I didn't know what I was doing.

When I was 9 I would try to discover new commands by typing random words and seeing if anything ahppened.

My computer apparently doesn't have the clip utility.

@anOKsquirrel You can do what my girlfriend and I do. Get a Mac, set up a Bootcamp partition for Windows that has everything but Steam removed, and just boot into Windows as needed.

Well, it turned out better this way.

Then I actually learned TI-BASIC, and then I got a "Game Programming for Teens" book, whereby I learned Blitz Basic, then "3D Game Programming for Teens" half a year later taught me Blitz 3D, then my brother introduced me to Python and Project Euler about half a year after that...

He also introduced me to Blender.

I like blender.

Project Euler is how I learn python.

I've used Linux (Arch, Chakra, and Mint) and Macs pretty extensively

One thing I don't particularly like about windows is that it always attempts to open javascript files in Windows Script Host. I could probably configure it not to, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

@RikerW The difference between "not very good" and "good" is pretty much just playing with it. Note that the time between the first image on that page and the last image is five years. Five years of making something every now and then, and pushing the limits of what I could do, Googling whatever I needed or wanted to know.

Using WolframAlpha usually ends up with me getting progressively more and more frustrated at its attempts to be "smart" until I just end up inputting Mathematica expressions into it, thereby defeating the purpose of using WolframAlpha

Would it be better if empty spots on the grids were periods?

As it is right now, there's a mixture of spaces in newlines (some rows aren't complete) which makes it strange
