@AnttiP do you think its possible to calculate for n=5 for Counting universal n-nary logic gates?
@Bubbler ^
It's definitely possible, but with their current methods it would take ages
hmm what about if we run it on the gpu? (i know this will not make it magically instantaneous)
A multithreaded version could be quite powerful
we can also run it on multiple computers ....
like those minecrafters who discovered the seeds from just images...
@emanresuA so theoretically n>5 is possible... given infinite time
05:27
More like a couple of years
well multithreading might make it faster.
who here has gtx3090?
i have like a 10 year old processor with gt1030
06:22
@emanresuA Thanks for the suggestion, ngn-apl is now up and running. But super barebones. I left the multiline bit naive for Raze, and I haven't gotten the interpreter to "remember" assignments like a repl, so each line runs separately.
@Razetime You might like to see this: avifs.xyz/tabl/#ngn-apl
Cool :)
It's mainly just the speed which is superrr satisfying. Even though it's not totally working yet, I wanted you guys who haven't gotten to play tabl at native speeds to get a chance.
Read: Those of who won't run the darn bash script :pp
@emanresuA If we can compile Java to WASM, we'll get Vyxal running at these speeds!
I've been trying to use Pyodide for Vyxal, but there's a dependency issue I'm having trouble working around
@emanresuA Oh? What's that?
Does that compile Python to JS?
Wasm python, with a nice interface to JS
You can try it here, it's pretty fast but can take a while to load
06:27
Ooh nice! All the way to WASM. I actually haven't played with any of those. I messed around with all the py2js transpilers before I knew wasm was a thing. No luck, in case you were wondering :p
@emanresuA ...
Who made that?
That looks suspiciously... familiar

Feb 1 at 20:43, by emanresu A
Do Stuff Online is actually usable now! Add feature requests and/or bugs to the github repo.
@emanresuA No way!! That's super cool, I didn't know this was a thing!!
Younger Avi would have killed for a Python to browser transpiler.
I made DSO. Pyodide was made by github.com/pyodide.
Sorry for any confusion
I'm noticing that for i in range(10): print(i) doesn't print one on a newline. I suspect the CSS is missing a whitespace: pre property?
Weird, that doesn't seem to quite do the trick.
Try print("akfj\nalks\nsf") for a simpler example. No newlines. I'd console.log the results to see if the newlines are being removed in post-processing/CSS or if it's actually coming from pyodide.
@emanresuA No, I got it! But you got it set up and working cleanly. Which is amazing! And I would've loved that ages ago when I was working on a few things.
Do all DSO langs compile to JS?
@emanresuA Hmmm, print("aaaa\raaaa") gives a new line but print("aaaa\naaaa") doesn't.
@PyGamer0 Calculating n=5 on a supercomputer just using my algorithm is definitely possible, just that you need a supercomputer. I think n=5 without a supercomputer is possible, but this would require deeper understanding of "unary completeness".
@emanresuA Wow. I one million percent missed this. Congrats, emanresu!! This is a super cool project, and will come in super handy for all the janky stuff I constantly try to do getting programs written in other langs to work on the web. So, for me, this'll be an awesome repository of langs that can run in the browser, and how to get them set up.

Q: The Missing Match

06:59
LMAO, tabl#ngn-apl can now understand and update variables/functions, but not by running O(1), and not even in O(n) where n are the lines. It's running O(n^2)-- each line is getting run n/2 times whenever you type a letter. But it works, and it's still blazingly fast as compared to Dyalog over a websocket.
There's a better way, but I'll have to get more familiar with the interpreter, or with hacky APL tricks.
@NewPosts isn't that a dupe of codegolf.stackexchange.com/questions/50873/fix-the-braces-etc, or am i missing smth
07:40
@AviFS Or interpreted in JS, yeah
08:00
@AviFS It's a textarea, so idk what's happening.
Newline output works fine in other languages, so it's probably something else.
@AviFS very fun. a problem however is that whenever is typed, an alert box turns up.
Both issues fixed.
@AviFS BQN could work quite well for this?
yeah bqn would do quite well there
DSO could use some borders on the header buttons (or just a different background color)

ideally I'd like a way to simplify NAND(NAND(NOT(NAND(NOT(I2), I0)), I1), NOT(I2)) without using the "write out the truth table and find a simpler expression for it" method
It's a three-value truth table - just make a bruteforcer
09:24
@Neil isn't NOT NAND just AND?
Yeah but it's the same in terms of nand gate count
Sounds like a boolean algebra problem
oh, it's nandgolf huh
Is what you're trying to do I2 OR (I0 AND I1) ?
10:03
Fun fact: there are exactly 69 OEIS sequences that attribute some amount of credit to efforts made on this site (corrections, extensions, actually adding the sequence, etc.)

It was on the search results for Vyxal
@hyper-neutrino Do you recognise this symbol:
@lyxal hmm, there must be an equivalent of the absorption law for nand
That's the equation I put in
It's what we used in class to verify our solutions
@emanresuA I know it is. I search for mentions of vyxal somewhat regularly. I'm more surprised you hadn't found it already

if I have a string such as "235.3 0.3 5 [ -5, 6, 7, 1 ]" what is the golfiest way to parse that into 4 variables in python?

@emanresuA yes, that is the favicon for the Shenhe Mains website (genshin impact thing)
the reason it would show up for search results is because I run vyxapedia on the same server with the same IP as my shenhe mains website, my personal website, my dev subdomain, and the jelly resources website
and shenhe mains is a different domain so HTTP requests to the other sites get redirected by cloudflare to shenhe mains because it has cloudflare HSTS or something like that, whereas the other ones have their certificate set up by my friend on the server itself
