Q: Alarm Optimization

Step HenMy Alarm Clock I'm American, and so is my (digital) alarm clock. To set the alarm, it starts at the time it was previously. Hitting the hour button moves it up one hour, and hitting the minute button moves it up one minute. Hitting both buttons at the same time resets it to midnight (12:00 am), ...

Negative modulus FTW

@totallyhuman PEOPLE LIKE SQL
and broken Caps lock

well...
i mean i'd rather have my python answer down there get more votes

Esolang idea: 2D language, every time the ip goes over an instruction it changes it to its inverse (so + becomes -, input becomes output, etc)

interesting idea, that doesn't sound impossible to make but quite difficult to program in. Could be really golfable though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

4:12 PM
Especially if it loops around
cat program would be 1 byte

ooo yay I get a fancy k next to my reputation on my flair now
@BusinessCat lol yeah true

input, output, input, output, etc

Should I make this? :P

But it only becomes difficult to use if you have loops, otherwise it just does everything once

@HyperNeutrino You have more bronze badges, I have more silver ones :P

4:13 PM
88 bronze badges :o

I have 86 :)

88? I only have 33

i have 45

@Mr.Xcoder :P

All those Nice questions and Nice answers :)

4:14 PM
well at least i have fanatic
lel

You also actually have gold badges :P

@totallyhuman I don't >_> - 40 more days left

3 / 39 / 140

@HyperNeutrino I have one gold badge. It's from a seg fault. >.<

4:15 PM
@HyperNeutrino I was planning to, we could work together if you want. Although I don't think it would be hard to make

@HyperNeutrino What? Why don't you have any? I got Populist and Famous Question

@Mr.Xcoder I don't have any extremely upvoted answers or questions.

Ok..
@totallyhuman LOL

also i should put something real in my bio...

4:16 PM
> visited 104 days, 104 consecutive
nice

Yeah, totally

@HyperNeutrino what you golf in Jelly, it should be normal to get over 100 votes on any answer :P

Oh, 141 bronze now

@Cowsquack er no that's just if you like segfaults or are Dennis ಠ_ಠ

4:18 PM
CMC: segfault in jelly

Why SWIFT, WHY?

@HyperNeutrino You need to golf in Taxi, the gold badges just find you

@totallyhuman 5 bytes: MD XF
2

@totallyhuman I've done it before

4:18 PM
me too

I actually have, but I don't remember how

me neither :P

@HyperNeutrino but Jelly answers do get an abnormal amount of upvotes, despite whether people actually understand it :P

yeah true :P

@totallyhuman Found it

4:19 PM
lolwat

I have literally no idea why

@Mr.Xcoder ,100 wait... that's weird... if you only have one star and your message starts with a bolded number, it looks like you have that many stars

yes
look at the sandbox

Okx
look at that 100 stars in starboard

@BusinessCat I like that the code contains the GBP and Cent symbols, and the error contains the dollar symbol

4:21 PM
hah broke it
:P

Okx
bad

Shorter segfault.

nice

Me be like (bad grammar is intentional): Let's port the JS solution to Swift. After 20 minutes, me be like: Yaay, did it!. SWIFT COMPILER be like: expression was too complex to be solved in reasonable time; consider breaking up the expression into distinct sub-expressions

4:22 PM
@Mr.Xcoder multiline markup is borken

agh mathjax
;-;
dumb formatting

I wonder which I'll reach first -- 20k or Socratic

20 k
Gah!
(Click on it)

I actually think it'll be Socratic first. That'll be fun.

We'll see

4:24 PM
@ASCII-only how far are you with your calculator? In mine everything works except for multiplication, but it is increeeeeeeeedibly slow. Here's the TIO: goo.gl/vc6BQX

I hate Swift now >_<

wait do we not have a challenge to get the nth triangular number?

@Mayube sum of numbers 1 to n

@Mayube guess not

4:25 PM
@Mayube Yes.

Q: Sum of all integers from 1 to n

GarethPWI'm honestly surprised that this hasn't been done already. If you can find an existing thread, by all means mark this as a duplicate or let me know. Input Your input is in the form of any positive integer greater than or equal to 1. Output You must output the sum of all integers between and i...

aah there it is

oh yes where i have my most overvoted comment

@totallyhuman and where some two byte programs have 40 upvotes and others have 3

The Pyth answer is extremely overvoted too

Finally, Pyth(on) code sounds like a snake. — totallyhuman Jul 18 at 21:15

4:27 PM
Now that's starbait :) ^

lol
and the pyth answer just got another upvote
there are other two byte answers >_>

@totallyhuman There is a one-byte answer

yeah in neim I suppose

@totallyhuman there are a lot of other two byte answers, with next to no bytes

@EriktheOutgolfer Husk

4:30 PM

@totallyhuman there's even a 1 byte answer now :P
Husk and Braingolf :P

There should be markdown for tables, so these don't have to be images.

@Mayube ಠ_ಠ

Okx
@EriktheOutgolfer xD

4:31 PM
@ppperry what and i have to spend ages formatting it? :P

I guess

@Mr.Xcoder @Adnan

Must look ^^^^^

@EriktheOutgolfer Why did you empty-ping? To summon Adnan?

4:32 PM
@Mr.Xcoder umm, the "cc" part is golfed out of that :p

@HyperNeutrino CONGRATULATIONS ON 10k

aaa i thought you did C not SQL

yay thanks! \o/ :3

\O/

4:33 PM
@MDXF Why isn't the k capitalized

I am about to tie Shaggy in rep

@StepHen bcuz

@StepHen because SE doesn't capitalize it

we're being too meta guys

these are rookie numbers

4:35 PM
@EriktheOutgolfer What is A[B] in Osabie? @ (not sure)?

that's pyth :p
in 05ab1e it's è...

@EriktheOutgolfer Ok
Thanks

Q: Make a lost RNG

Wheat WizardLost is a 2-D programming language where the start position and direction of the ip are entirely random. This makes it very difficult to make deterministic Lost programs. However today we are not writing an deterministic program, we are writing an RNG. Write a lost program that takes no input ...

Is there a way to see vote breakdown in the SE mobile app

nope

Feels bad man

There is
Press and hold on the vote count
(at least on iPhone)

wut
for real?

4:50 PM
Yeah

@Mr.Xcoder same on Android

>.> they didn't have to implement it like an easter egg

there's no way to see view count though
