Probably not going to happen, as APL is not a golfing language, and it is too late to reconsider the choice of rank-reduction rather than insertion. Too bad though. Same goes for the inability to enclose a simple data scalar.

@ZacharyT Yes, and we don't want to change ⎕AV again. It wrought havoc last time we did so. So yes, new glyphs won't help much for golfing, as they would become ⎕Uxxxx. However, a colleague offered to build me a custom interpreter with all primitives in ⎕AV – just for golfing.

It is too awkward to have a special keyboard with additional shifting keys on an touch keyboard, so how if you could just draw giant APL glyphs on the session? The set of characters is so small that there would rarely be doubt. Especially if letters were not recognized (as they should be input with the on-screen keyboard) to avoid ⌊L |I ○O ∘o ×x ⊂c etc.
