Q: Dungeon of botdom

Destructible Lemon– of crisis and martyrdom (that's the subtitle because subtitles are cool) In this king-of-the-hill challenge in python (yup; you need go no farther to know you may not submit in java), you need to create a bot that plays a game very similar to welcome to the dungeon Rules You submit a class,...

That's the number of Unicode letters that fit into 1 grid-width in the Ubuntu Mono font.
I haven't controlled for height yet.
@MDXF No

Why
Why is it blank

Why not

user165474
2:05 AM
@LegionMammal978 That is very random. but why ;_;

@LegionMammal978 Doesn't Ubuntu Mono have garbage unicode support?

Why shouldn't it be blank

because it is

@LegionMammal978 um

because he has a cloaking device

2:05 AM
note the blank in that sentence

Also, it shouldn't matter which monospace font you're using.

@Phoenix ???

user165474
@DestructibleLemon No, that's SIGSEGV

Unicode works mostly fine on it AFAIK

@DestructibleLemon if you write a quine in Cubically I will solve that :P

2:06 AM
@HyperNeutrino nuh uh

The main problem is a lot of characters taking up more than a single monospace position

@MDXF is this the kind of thing like if the sun crashes into the earth the grass is green?

user165474
@DestructibleLemon Doesn't SIGSEGV have a fully-transparent profile pic though?

@DestructibleLemon yep
you don't wanna write a quine in Cubically, I don't wanna solve your challenge ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

user165474
2:07 AM
contradiction implies everything

user165474
@MDXF it's not about want/don't want, it's about CAN/CANNOT MENTALLY COMPREHEND lol

Still looks the same at a glance

@HyperNeutrino eh I have no idea how to solve his challenge haha

Jul 24 '16 at 16:51, by LegionMammal978
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Yeah, my invisibility field failed, will be fixed tomorrow

user165474
@MDXF too long 0/10 too lazy to read lol

2:08 AM
I think on Sunday I'm going to start a +1000 extended bounty for a Cubically quine

@MDXF what I meant is that it is if but not if and only if

@HyperNeutrino same :P
@DestructibleLemon uhh just more confused now lol

go on now deadline
the grass is green if the sun does not crash into the earth either

user165474
a -> b =/=> a <-> b

Can someone explain to me what's with all the slashes in U&L's design?

2:09 AM
screw it I'm starting the Cubically quine bounty now

not like I need rep when I won't be on PPCG for three months lol

user165474
@MDXF eh what if it expires

no one will be able to do it!

Extended bounty

user165474
2:10 AM
oh

@LegionMammal978 good times

@LegionMammal978 that's a better pic...

user165474
@LegionMammal978 0/10 use replies

@HyperNeutrino 0/10 use 1/10

user165474
2:10 AM
@DestructibleLemon no

Was my profile pic for a certain period of time in July 2016
@HyperNeutrino I tried

@HyperNeutrino 0/10 use 0/10 in these messages

user165474
No that becomes too noisy after a while

@HyperNeutrino 0/10 it adds four characters

user165474
That's 4 bytes you could golf from your messages; up to 6 counting spaces on either side.

user165474
2:16 AM
And plz stop using "0/10" that much

user165474
I mean if you want to keep using it that's fine but don't say I didn't advise against it if someone flags you.

user165474
There was a decently long trash once because too many "0/10"s were posted

user165474
Back?

2:20 AM
like add rep
since it's probably impossible

user165474
No thanks, I'm waiting for my language to become functional enough and then make a quine challenge in my language :P

No I'm asking if you want to add some rep to the bounty
e.g. +1000 from MD XF and +100 from HyperNeutrino

user165474
That's what I meant. :P

Oh :P

user165474
I'm going to bounty my own language so I don't want to make too many extended bounties

2:23 AM
Oh make a quine challenge in your language. I only saw "make a quine in my language" lol
I also have a C bounty
'cause I have the shortest C quine

user165474
lol

user165474
I already have an extended +100 bounty

Yeah I've seen that one
hah I was so happy when I beat my own C quine record

I outgolfed Dennis again!

@ATaco :o pls link
and merge PR

A: List of bounties with no deadline

MD XF1000 (up to 1100) rep for a Cubically quine Cubically is, in some opinions (including mine), one of the most complex languages. It's built around a huge memory restriction. someone better +1 if I answer this in Triangular

@NewMainPosts damn other peoples koths trying to steal my thunder

Dennis's flaw was to use premade algorithms.

is 43 prime?

user165474
@MDXF yes

2:30 AM
dammit

Yeah, 43's one of my favourite primes.
The three numbers I test for a prime tester are, 13, 24 (For a falsey), and 43.

I haven't written a prime tester lol

@ATaco why not 1 and 2 and 3
also 9 and 4

user165474
@NewMainPosts 0/10 only java

those are important cases

2:32 AM
Because I don't follow things that are "Traditional" or "Logical"

@HyperNeutrino also that

I only care if 13, 24 and 43 are correct.

this sounds like a new challenge

Hasn't that been sandboxed for like a year? @NewMainPosts

@ATaco you know that works for "is this number odd"? those are bad test cases
at least use 25

2:35 AM
If I accidentally write an "Odd or Even" test when making a prime tester, I deserve it.

do you need to go back to number school md xf :P

No?
I mean I was right
I just misunderstood your statement

Also, this is the first time I've had an answer accepted, ever.

@ATaco pls link

Even though I've won a few challenges.

2:37 AM
That was quick :P
@HyperNeutrino why'd you accept that so fast?

because it was shorter

@Fatalize 10/10 declarative much

Although now that I've made a more efficient algorithm, I'm sure Dennis will outgolf it.

user165474
@MDXF If Dennis outgolfs ATaco then I will reaccept as soon as I find out; Dennis's answer was accepted for a while until ATaco appeared

user165474
Also this is now actually functional though it doesn't do much right now

2:42 AM
@HyperNeutrino Oh ok makes sense
@HyperNeutrino "now" actually functional latest commit: 13 hours ago

user165474
???

user165474
oh wrong password

Forgot to push?
lol

Dennis should be reaccepted, as embarrasingly I conly coppied the first 32kb of the string.

@MDXF I don't think it was especially necessary to bump those old sandbox posts. Deleting would have been sufficient.

user165474
2:43 AM
there we go

@ConorO'Brien They were deleted

user165474
@ATaco oh lol...

user165474
@ConorO'Brien Beta discussed this on meta already

@HyperNeutrino link?
(not a picture)

2:44 AM
How embarrassing.

no self-respecting person would use that stale joke >_>

@ConorO'Brien Talking to me?

Q: Cluttering the Sandbox with Edits

Beta DecayA few times I have noticed that, to reduce clutter, people have taken it upon themselves to reduce the body of sandbox posts in bulk. While, I don't disagree with the practice of decluttering, by editing 10+ posts all in one go, you create even more clutter. Instead of finding the newest posts ...

user165474
What joke?

user165474

the real question is why can't we disable deleted answers

user165474
Well I'm done for today, cy'all tomorrow! o/

I mean they're deleted there should be a way I can avoid looking at them

2:47 AM
you can use a small userscript/user style .deleted { display: none; } or something like that

It really should be an option though.

@ConorO'Brien Yes you told me that a while ago, I told everyone in here a few hours ago

good job on spreading the news

Aww yiss I was the first to say the term "tacoscript"
@ATaco Actually I think I named them that

4:03 AM
Don't worry, this isn't new in regards to me naming things after myself.

None of your langs are
RProgN, Threead

TacO

Ah

Well @ATaco it's not really your name, just your username
if it was WilliaM or WillScript that'd be different
but it's just the name you like to use so why not use it in your languages?

Taco is as much my name as Bill is, in a strange way.

4:17 AM
Um

I'd think as many people know me by the name "Taco" as people do "Bill"

Oh that's what you mean
heh since I'm so much of a nobody IRL I bet more people know me by MD than Aaron

4:44 AM
Well I've had a pretty fun time with this so far... Can someone give me a quick peer review? codegolf.stackexchange.com/a/126532/51785

@Poke Was that you who was asking about how to write a good explanation the other day?

negative
why? is it awful? haha

Oh okay. Because if you were, I was gonna say wow you sure learned quick :P

:D

That's insane that you used a HashMap in code that finds the name of a variable o_O

4:47 AM
well yeah there are 100 ways to make that "better"
like actually parsing the file instead of bastardizing the javap output
;)

Heh. Very creative and intuitive though; if I didn't have enough extended bounties to lose all my rep I'd probably give you 50 :P

it's the thought that counts

Not really lol but still

meh, this got be the last couple points for moderation permissions and being able to view deleted posts
so i'm happy with that, haha

Cool. You'll soon learn that seeing deleted posts is not all it's cracked up to be; more of a burden than a privilege IMO....

4:51 AM
i'm sure you're right
but maybe i'll get a couple laughs and it will all be worth it

Take the Sandbox, for example. 100 pages of deleted posts. Just gets annoying. But yeah, seeing all the spam is kinda funny sometimes

you or someone linked that a day or two ago. many lolz

Not me but I bookmarked it because yes, many lols xD
You know what screw it I'm giving you a bounty
...tomorrow, question isn't old enough

that'll be dope

just like your answer lol

4:56 AM
8-)
What's up with your profile noting that you will be inactive after the 18

Because I'm getting a promotion and will no longer have time for PPCG :/

ha
good luck :P

That's why I'm starting bounties lol
Thanks :D

@MDXF This is pure gold. I literally lol'd.

Why the command prompt is not taking any input (When run from Code::Blocks) in this C code ?

@AlexKChen example input?

@LeakyNun What do you mean ?

@AlexKChen what input is it supposed to take?

@KritixiLithos I always assumed it would be a bit like multiplying the string when I started using Carrot so `a^*1` would keep the stack as `a` but now I've used it more I think I prefer that `a^*1` duplicates the stack once, so `aa`.
I'm also not the best with Carrot yet, I've been able to do a few small challenges with it but most of the time I end up giving up with it. I think it's because I end up getting confused over the different stack modes and what should do what.

(Also, the extra crap and baloney in polish is for debugging)
@LeakyNun Numbers and symbols. Just before a few editing, it was taking inputs fine. (Not that the output was okay)
Like, this input was taken goodly: 2222***
(Which, by the way, is producing 2 instead of 16)

8:05 AM
It takes input just fine on TIO.

Hey guys, how do you install GCC on Windows 10
I've done it before but I've completely forgotten

@BetaDecay WSL :P
Your options are basically WSL or Cygwin
afaik

Really? Then I how did I use to compile C, C++, etc. programs?
Is there an alternative to GCC

probably with Cygwin

I see, I must've used MinGW

8:07 AM
The most "native" way of compiling C++ on windows is Visual Studio, after that it's WSL, then Cygwin and friends

@Mayube did you see my comment?

I use code::blocks.
Free and good.

Sigh the school wifi blocks SourceForge

a lot of places block SourceForge
uBlock Origin even blocks it by default

The blocking reason says computers.filehosting... I wonder what's wrong with file hosting...

8:13 AM
@AlexKChen you need to put --i; in the beginning of the else block
@AlexKChen

If someone pings me and I'm not in chat, do I get a notification to my main inbox?

@TheLethalCoder yes

@TheLethalCoder 15 minutes after the ping

Okay thanks :)

Our school blocks Github Gist :P
It blocked c9users.io a while back as well

8:17 AM
man, WheatWizard's MacGyver challenge is really cool

@TheLethalCoder Thanks for your opinion, I will keep it in mind.

@LeakyNun If that is for debugging, thanks, but I have already debugged it. If it's for reading the input, then it doesn't works, though.

and btw, you can use FSA to convert the stack-mode

@AlexKChen I included a link.

Is it for reading the input ?

8:19 AM
Just execute it.

Yeah, works. Thanks.

so $^F will take the input and store it in the stack-string, after which F will convert it to a float as the stack-mode changes to float-mode.

It still doesn't reads the input in Code::Blocks, though, for mysterious reasons. Works fine in tio though. [cc: @LeakyNun]

@AlexKChen what do you mean by Code::Blocks?

8:21 AM
@LeakyNun IDE

@AlexKChen btw this does not require a newline

I don't know what it does. I simply open my sandbox.c file, write code, and press Build+Run.
Also in the first if the two i can be replaced by t[i++] to reduce another line, I think.

@KritixiLithos I do enjoy using Carrot; it's a lot different from the languages I usually use. Keep up the good work!

Thanks :D
