Chrome/Chromium are native Wayland apps. The entire GNOME suite is wayland. There's also Xwayland which lets you run any X app in Wayland. I ran wayland for close to 3 months before switching back because I installed Nvidia proprietary driver version 340xx which does not work with Wayland (they only just added support in their new version)
