@Downgoat I know what I'm about, son

Hey @Downgoat, are you interested in having more people contribute to cheddar?

@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ yes

Cool. I'd love to help some.

\o/ :D

12:01 AM
I don't think I'll be able to halp a lot, but I'm sure I could contribute something.

do you know any of: Ruby, Perl, or Node?

A smidge, a smaller smidge and absolutely nothing.

@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ filedropper.com/gameriker use .HighScore.txt

I know the first two but I thought you were doing this in JS

I've actually been messing with Ruby recently. It's a little strange, but very nice.

12:02 AM
@quartata Cheesecloth is in Ruby/Perl

Why write in both Ruby and Perl when you could just write in Perl

Why write in Perl?

@quartata I asked whether I should use ruby or perl and most people voted ruby

Why write?

Why write in Perl when you could just eat avocad?
4

@Downgoat I'd much rather be working in Ruby and Perl than in JS. I don't know jack when it comes to JS.

12:04 AM
@ANerd-I So your dog can help you MASH ThE KEYBOARD

Because Perl is perfection

@Geobits Why?

Why start a package manager when you haven't finished the language? >_>

Y?

@quartata MASHING KEYBOARD

12:04 AM
Why do anything? In the end we all die.

JK I like perl

@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ Well I'm trying to write a ini parser but I have no idea how :|

@Downgoat But Ruby's HTTP support sucks

@epicTCK Depends who you ask. ;P But I was referring to the popularity contest.

This is something i would legitimately write in PHP

@Geobits I like golfing, coding, and bowling. Put any of those together, and well... it's not going to be pretty.

@quartata ewwwwwwwww

@AlexA. Rather die than have another one of those :P
@AlexA. And depends on definition of life

12:06 AM
PHP is not a programming language, it's a thing made to be despised.
PHP is like spiders.

@ANerd-I I'd be up for smacking some golf balls down a bowling alley. Preferably a few drinks in.

It's got built in curl, JSON, ... It's the right tool for the job.

@quartata PHP is never the right tool for the job...

: Write a program. That's it. Just write a program. Most upvotes at the end of a week wins.

@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ should I add you to the cheddar orginization

12:08 AM
PHP is jusr Perl with sligtly different syntax and extra goodies in my mind.

@Downgoat You have an org chart? o_O

@Downgoat Sounds good. Who's in it right now?

If you think about it, trying to get stars in chat is a ... hint hint

12:08 AM
@AlexA. Death says we're "off-topic" and we die

I use PHP whenever I would use Perl but the internet is involved

I don't like PHP much, but quartata's got this one right.

@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ invited you.

12:10 AM

Why make fun of something you've never used

Can we stop php and js bashing and discuss on-topicness?
Q_Q

@quartata I've used it.

12:10 AM

@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ right now a INI parser.

12:12 AM
AAAAIAIIIII SANDBOX POST FEEDBACK PLEASE

@quartata Selective use of evidence does not prove an argument.

@quartata Where did you do that

@Downgoat Is that a specific file format or however you design it?

The INI file format is an informal standard for configuration files for some platforms or software. INI files are simple text files with a basic structure composed of sections, properties, and values. In MS-DOS and 16-bit Windows platforms up through Windows ME, the INI file served as the primary mechanism to configure operating system and installed applications features, such as device drivers, fonts, startup launchers, and things that needed to be initialized in booting Windows. INI files were also generally used by applications to store their individual settings. In Windows NT Microsoft introduced...

@epicTCK Won't that just be a subset of the Great Outdoors SE?

@quartata no, specifically for scouting not just outdoorness

Righttt but all of the questions would be on topic on the Great Outdoors, right? It's stuff like tying knots, survival skills,etc

What's the general term for dyads and monads?

12:21 AM
Is there any difference between and ?

@quartata "How do I become a good citizen" or something

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ term is fixed arity functions I would think

@quartata oh wait I just realized the term is "verb" :/

@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ [puzzle-solver] is for programs that solve things like sudoku, etc. [programming-puzzle] is just a relic, but was used for more riddle-like things.

^ exactly what he said

12:25 AM

The tag excerpt was confuzzling.

@Geobits TIL Alex is girl.

A: Sandbox for Proposed Challenges

Dr Green Eggs and Ham DJFastest Hashi solver! code-golf grid You must write a program that solves a board in "Hashiwokakero", which I will call "Hashi" for brevity's sake. Here are the rules of Hashi. You are given a 2d grid with "islands" on it. Here is a grid with 4 islands: 1 3 1 1 The goal is to...

@Geobits Provides PPCG with propane and propane accessories

Odd, since he doesn't seem overzealous to burninate things: meta.codegolf.stackexchange.com/a/9039/14215

I haven't watched King of the Hill in ages

@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ The actual output isn't going to be ascii-art, is it?
@quartata New personal goal: Write a King of the Hill themed [king-of-the-hill].

12:32 AM
yes please

@Geobits It will. Why do you ask?

Gotta think of something good though.

50 secs ago, by quartata
@AlexA. funny meme edit pls

@DrGreenEggsandHamDJ Dunno, it just seems unwieldly to check a whole test suite that way. It's not a big deal or anything.

@Geobits I could see that. I can't think of a more sensible way to indicate where your bridges are. Maybe have the output look like this: 1,1-->1,4 to represent the start and end of each bridge?
In any case, at some point it'll be slower to output than it will be to solve, and that isn't good.

12:38 AM
True. I'm not sure what's best, to tell the truth.

WTH, why did I tag that with code-golf?

because you have failed lord vader

Probably force of habit

bai for the night guys!

@AlexA. funny meme edit pls

12:41 AM
?
Oh

@NewMainPosts why is this still here?
