@mınxomaτ I went with LXDE per your recommendation and so far it's great

@ZachGates lol

@AquaTart s/reat/arbage/

ಠ_ಠ

Oh that is a real thing!! quietreflectionsretreat.org

@AlexA. What's wrong with LXDE lmao

9:01 PM
I don't know what it is

I thought QRR was some kind of code for something totally unrelated.

It's a desktop environment...
@flawr haha

Like KDE, only less crap. And completely different.

@El'endiaStarman Have you been there?

9:03 PM
@flawr Five times in the last nine years, most recently all of last week.

I also got myself this cute little pop-down terminal called guake:

guakemole

I like

@El'endiaStarman oh cool
Was it nice?

@AquaTart why does it say /home/quartata when your name is Aqua Tart ¬_¬

9:04 PM
@EasterlyIrk Quite so. :)

@Downgoat Uh because aquatart takes longer to type

¬_¬

deal

> quartata@avocado

I doubt your login is "downgoat"

9:05 PM
My dad and I did some work to prettify some of the area for the stream of people near Easter time.

> avocado
I approve.
(not that my approval matters)

@El'endiaStarman Looks so cool!

@El'endiaStarman What did he do?

I made my login quartata on this VM so that if I wanted to copy-paste errors out of the terminal I wouldn't have to censor my actual username (which is my initials) lmao
@EasterlyIrk I named it avocado just for you <3

9:07 PM
@flawr Mostly just used a leaf-blower to get leaves out of the ditch on the side of the gravel road. I helped with that a bit, and I also did work in picking up sticks and logs (which he did a bit too).

@AquaTart um. thanks.
is that sarcasm?

3rd dragon dead! (I know this isn't mc chat but you guys might care)

@EasterlyIrk No actually

Otherwise a bit disturbing.
@HelkaHomba \o/

@HelkaHomba I care

9:08 PM
Well, kinda. I mostly did it to get stars

How was there more than 1 dragon?

So it's more like I did for all of you <3

@El'endiaStarman Must be such a cool area!

@AlexA. They can be respawned now

o

9:08 PM
Close to "Little Switzerland"

@AlexA. We want to spawn one in your treehouse

why ;-;

@flawr It's definitely very nice. :D

Oh, I need to join ya guys in MC server @EasterlyIrk
(So used to E+Tab = EasterlyIrk >_>)

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ YUSSSSSSSSSSŠŚ

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Wait, you have Minecraft now?

o_o I've had for quite a while, I just never publicized it.

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ if you join now, i'll get on in 5 min.

9:22 PM
Deal.

@flawr Took me much longer than I expected to find the place without using the search function.

Omg I never thought of this, such a cool idea!

@flawr Thanks. :D
Tends to get really messy with more complex groups though.

Z2 x Z2 has a star in it!=)
@El'endiaStarman What happens when you permutate the order of the element sin this rpresentation?

Q: Implement RFC 1149.5 in your language (Make random return 4)

penne12In tribute to this XKCD comic, make sure that your language's random function returns 4. If it doesn't equal 4, warn ...

9:50 PM
@AlexA.

Yes?

gif of alex is wrong in minecraft coming.
dangit too big
imgur is thinking

@flawr Hmm. Not sure what you mean. You think it would look different in a significant/meaningful way?

hahahaha
I love how it ends with a disconnect

10:07 PM
Just like life >:)

Q: How Can I Make my Question Better?

penne12I recently posted a question, and would like to know what is wrong about it, and how it could have been made better. This is not to get the question back, but rather so that I know what makes a good question here, so I can improve next time. This is my question: Implement RFC 1149.5 in your lan...

FlambinoES6, 2557 bytes It isn't so much golfed per se; it's minified - partly by hand - but that's nothing special. CAD97Calculating the Frobenius number code-golf The Frobenius number is the largest number that cannot be created by units in a given set. This is also known as the Coin problem. @El'endiaStarman I don't know=)

@flawr Maybe you should investigate it? :)

@El'endiaStarman Maybe I should earn some money to travel to the southeast of the USoA?

@flawr Why would you have to do that to look at permutations of those diagrams? o.O

@El'endiaStarman I wouldn't but your photos really made me wanna go there=)

10:39 PM
hahaha :D

Seems like a fantastic area, lots of woods!

The chapel, welcome center, cabin, and retreat home were all built from wood in that area.

Does that strange structure you can see on satellite image going from huntsville, alabama to harrisburg, pennsylvania have a name?

If you can see that large of a structure, you're probably looking at the Appalachian Mountains.

Right, that is it, thank you!
Looks amazing from above

10:45 PM
Incidentally, look up "Appalachian Trail".

Wow. bucketlist.push(appalachian_trail)

hahaha
There's another significant mountain range in New York named the Adirondack Mountains, which you can also see by satellite.

I love the vast landscapes you can find there. Miles and miles without a sign of humans=)

A huge contrast with Europe, I'll bet. :P

That is something you just do not find that easily in central europe.
And the thing I miss most ever since I've been there.
Obviously switzerland is just an extreme case. You are never further away than a few km from the next town.
And the forests are all way to clean=)
(I mean clean in the sense of actively used as resource, everywhere)
Not much dead wood laying around.

10:55 PM
So you guys actively plant and harvest forests?

Not really a lot of systematic planting/harvesting but actively "caring".
There are some few national parks, but even these are just crisscrossed with hiking paths.
This is the official hiking network.
(zoom in=)

Except in the high alps you're going to have a difficult time to finde even one square kilometer without an official path.

@flawr Oh my gosh. You guys have trails everywhere.
How big are the grid squares? 5km x 5km?

1km x 1km
(the ones at full zoom)
On the bottom left there's a scale.

11:05 PM
You sure it's 1km and not 10km?
Oh wait, full zoom, I see.

You can also verify by the coordinate system.

Oh hey, found a square km without official trails! :P

=)
Is it on a glacier?

Hm let me try to find it=)
Any hints?
french, german italian or rumantsch part?

11:08 PM
I don't know enough to answer that question. :P
It's near the Alps, but not in them.
Roughly between Lauter-brunnen and Unterseen/Interlaken.

The Pacific Crest Trail (commonly abbreviated as the PCT, and officially designated as the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail) is a long-distance hiking and equestrian trail closely aligned with the highest portion of the Sierra Nevada and Cascade mountain ranges, which lie 100 to 150 miles (160 to 240 km) east of the U.S. Pacific coast. The trail's southern terminus is on the U.S. border with Mexico, just south of Campo, California, and its northern terminus on the U.S.–Canada border on the edge of Manning Park in British Columbia; its corridor through the U.S. is in the states of California...

@El'endiaStarman I'd still consider that alps=)
@AquaTart Oh yeah, I've heard about it!
I've been in that area!

I wish I could say I was awesome enough to have even hiked a part of it

23 mins ago, by flawr
Wow. bucketlist.push(appalachian_trail)

I have a friend in southern Germany near black forest, do you know that area?

11:11 PM
I've only ever been to that area by flying over it on the way to Seattle, Washington. :P

@epicTCK Yeah that is quite close to where I live=)
@El'endiaStarman If you zoom away you see the border from germany to france / italy to france

@flawr Ahhh, okay, I see.

You can interpolate that border throu switzerland and you'll roughly get the Röstigraben: on the left side the french speaking part.

ah-huh, okay!

And the wedge that goes into italy is the italian part=)
@epicTCK Were does s/he live?

11:16 PM
black forest boarding school thingy
Black Forest Academy

@epicTCK Oh that is in Kandern right north of Basel.
I live about 25 km from there

...it's really weird to think that I can drive from one side of Louisville, a largeish city, to the other and go further than 25 km.

Haha, an americans fried would drive straight throu switzerland for his daily commute in the us=)
(only that there is no way of driving straight throu switzerland^^)

There isn't really any way to drive straight through the Appalachians either. Not even the interstate highways go straight.

woah, wrong button
didnt wanna delete this =/

11:27 PM
> I found some very kitschy (<-TIL that word exists in english too) photos of my area

Theres just almost never any fog in contrary what those images want to suggest=)
@El'endiaStarman How???

@flawr I am the night mod.

Oh right Mr. Blueman
@El'endiaStarman Somehow annoying how the message is saved but non-blue users cannot even undo/read the own deleted messages =/

@AlexA. Cool=)

11:36 PM
Probably one of my favorite metal songs ever.

Anybody know of a license to basically say you can't use something?

Proprietary

@EasterlyIrk You want to publish code that people cannot use?
Or that they can only use for non-profit / educational purposes?
Is Stromae known in the US?

That's not really true (last sentence).

11:40 PM
@mınxomaτ Thinking of stuff like parodies and homages?

I'm thinking of all kinds of lawyerish edge cases.

Would you say it's generally (or mostly) true, though?

bai
How about asking here?

11:42 PM
The important part is Even in the absence of a license file, you may grant some rights in cases where you publish your source code to a site that requires accepting terms of service. The 3rd party ToS may also come in the form of CLA and EULA from software you're using for development.

Goodbye for now

@flawr Can't modify without explicit permission.

@El'endiaStarman Yes. A copyright notice is never needed, because copyright is always implied. There are pieces of information (website targeting EU customers e.g.) that have to have a proper imprint (not just a name, but also a postal address + phone number). That is btw. also required for e.g. blog hosted in GitHub.
@EasterlyIrk Wait a second...
@EasterlyIrk Here. This is the old AutoIt 3 EULA. The most reciprocal and restrictive OS license I know: gist.github.com/minxomat/1a74c3af48b03a146f03
