I realized this morning that Google Code Jam Round 1B is tomorrow. How does everyone feel about it?

there is only 0 in base 1

And ironically, there is no 0 in base 1.

Unless you count lack of symbols to be 0

@Optimizer If there's only 0 in base 1, wouldn't all numbers be rounded to 0? We round 00000 to 0. Or would we make the symbol for base 1 just 1?

In which case it sort of breaks the rule on what digits a base can use.

Our progress this Sprint is really makin' me sad :(

we had 2week sprints as part of a group project, but we had other courseworks due in every other week, so we always did all the work in the 3 days before the deadline, made for some nice burndown charts

Our Sprint is actually three weeks long, but we allow testing 1.5 weeks to find bugs while we work on other stuff.

We're going to change that soon though

What's a sprint? Google says Sprint is a phone company. Dictionary says a sprint is a burst of speed or a list processing language involving stack operations.

I had an Economics professor in high school who boasted a 95% pass rate for his students on the AP test. If you took it and passed, some local rich guy reimbursed you the money it cost to take the test. If you failed, you were out of pocket.

Depends on college or university

Some colleges/universities accept low scores for AP credits. Others accept only the highest scores for AP credits. Others don't accept AP credits no matter how high your score was.

Everyone accepts a 4. Most accept a 3 from my experience in applying to A&M and UT, which are both large schools. It's probably only the Ivy League schools that don't accept a 3.

Looks like some ridiculous colleges require 5's for specific courses.

I got a 5 on the AP Comp Sci AB and my school wouldn't let it count as credit towards any of the introductory comp sci classes.

So I was stuck taking CS101 intro programming and it was awful

I've never even heard of an in major AP course like CS

@nderscore Same with the college I want to go to. (not for all courses)

I thought they were all core courses like math and science

I saw your survival attempt on screeps.

It wasn't exactly a great attempt.

I think the two main contributing factors were A) the fact that I quit early because I didn't actually know how to fight anything off, and B) because I had a longer 800 run that didn't get recorded for some reason.

You could have done the 800 run in the simulator.

That's probably it.

Wow. You're the first person I've seen that builds additional ramparts.

I think that was a failed strategy.

They take way too long to build to be worth it.

Now I'm going with a swarm-building strategy. I'll see how it pans out.

I've wondered if building a wall around your base would cause the enemy ai to be ineffective.
