I haven't given up, but there are plenty of days where I just don't visit the site (which is why I haven't burned out), plus it has always and still does feel like almost no one else is close voting

it's possible he actually is doing a math thing where that many loops is simply mandatory

but the implicit premise that any piece of code that feels slightly repetitive must have a simpler form is...silly, to say the least
