@user21820 Much easier detections above. It is very important not to let the seeds of pseudo-math take root here - once they do they spread like weeds (as anyone who has used a nonmoderated site like sci.math knows all too well).

@BillDubuque This is really surprising (to me, at least)! Can moderators deal with users who post crank answers in such large volume? If so, maybe flagging with a custom message might help more than posting a couple of links here?
@Brahadeesh Here's a doozy where they appear to be attempting to grasp the idea of an algebraic integer. It is impossible to make sense of such mathematical gobbledygook. As the old proverb says: a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing.
Moderators can indeed deal with such (and have in the past). But it is a lot of work, and not everyone agrees on the proper course of action.

@BillDubuque I completely agree. I don't know how things were on sci.math, but I would like to not see this site being overrun by pseudo-mathematical arguments, at least.
@Brahadeesh Thankfully they are not so common here, but they do occasionally slip through the cracks. Their answer today was in fact properly assessed (currently scored -3 and probably on its way to deletion). That answer is what reminded me of others on my todo list.

@Chandler I think that the biggest objection (i.e. the lack of clarity) is that the question was buried in the text. I have tried to clean it up a little by moving the question to the top, and by fixing the mathematical formatting. That should keep it from getting closed again.
