One more delete vote needed, @SimplyBeautifulArt, @Did, @user21820, to the question you last link to.

@DanielFischer SOS!!! Seriously, I feel I'm the victim of one mod's vengeance (see that the mod chat is now "private", and that prior to that, arjafi posted in boldface amWhy is not welcome here (in the mod chat). All because of my criticism here, in which my comments were upvoted, and the linked answer having received 8 downvotes, and comments from others, criticizing the post and actions. Yet, I'm the "bad guy"

The banishment from the mod chat (by arjafi) preceded any comment from me there. I merely asked "why?", after his boldface comment (which was then deleted) and subsequently was kicked out of the chat room, and subsequently the room was made private. I know it's got to be a difficult position to be in, challenging a colleague, vs abiding by an unspoken agreement to back each other up. I'm simply scared of arjafi, and his retaliatory actions.

@DanielFischer No need to respond here, to my comments. Just please, please do not let one mod's volatility get out of control, in terms of actions taken against the "bearer of bad news".

BTW would the above exchange (between Did, me and user21820) be more appropriate for Math Meta Chat room, which was started not too long ago by user21820?

@MartinSleziak Yea that's right; in fact @amWhy's call for help belongs there, technically. But I don't know what happens if I move the messages; will @DanielFischer still get notified?

@user21820 That's exactly why I explicitly mention only the exchange between us three.
I assume that amWhy posted in this room precisely for that reason - that it was room where Daniel Fischer was pingable.

@MartinSleziak Okay done!

@amWhy as an independent view, it does seem that situation escalated out of control. You guys were kind of talking past each other, so it may be a misunderstanding. He's right that delete votes aren't super downvotes, and that is a known problem that occurs, but I think the confusion is that he's saying a true statement but misapplying it to something where the standards of "what makes an answer an answer" is more nuanced than he realizes
It would have probably been more helpful to approach it as pointing out that arjafi is correct that they aren't super downvotes, but that that isn't what was happening. Preferably pointing to other meta discussion that indicates that support is required for an answer to be valid
the rest beyond that is an internal Math.SE issue I'd rather not comment on

Thanks for your comments, @AJHenderson Please do note, however, regarding your last comment (line), I never asked you to comment on anything. I appreciate your input. (Note, I did not ask you to comment on the internal (private) discussion behind close doors.) When I posted here, it is because I fear additional retaliation. That's all.

@amWhy yeah, I didn't get the impression you were asking for that. I was just commenting on what I could to try to help (hopefully) mend the fense
but there are some more math.se specific issues in there that I was just saying I wasn't going to say anything about since I'm not familiar enough with the site
so I can't really comment one way or another
it was more just stating my attempt at trying to help was done and why :)

@AJHenderson I get it. And again, I really do appreciate your comments and attempts to help. :)

@amWhy I'll also say that (hopefully) there is no such unspoken agreement. I know on the sites I moderate, we can and do regularly question each other. It's part of why they start out with a minimum of 3 mods on beta sites
it's specifically there so that we can call each other out and still form an internal consensus as well
that said, often such discussions don't go outside of private mod chat rooms
which is also good
in every case I've ever experienced though, you wouldn't know anything happened from the outside because once we got an internal consensus, the mod that lost (if there is a reversal) accepted it and took care of dealing with it themselves, so publicly it would just look like they changed their mind
and nobody would ever be the wiser

@AJHenderson That makes a lot of sense. Thanks.

@SimplyBeautifulArt Very interesting; On first glance I also mistakenly thought it diverges.

@user21820 Indeed, but graphs are intuitive, as I provided below the accepted answer.

@SimplyBeautifulArt Har har.. after you talk about false intuition, you suggest graphs? wags finger disapprovingly.

@user21820 :P Better than first glances based on nothing.

@SmokeDetector I wonder what people are thinking when they do that.
