I don't have a strong opinion on this one. I just noticed that the status of these questions is very unclear and confusing, and it's time to take a specific direction.

The standard basically is "sufficient detail". There's even a custom close reason. "Questions seeking to identify a song/sample/artist/ect need enough objective detail to be answerable. Please if possible add more detail."
When the site first started there was a group of active people who were all vocally anti-ID questions. Then most of them left, became less active, etc. Then new people came along who felt differently and they voted to reverse the policy. It wasn't the mods choice, it was the community's choice.
I actually have a bronze tag badge in story-identification on SFF. I don't mind ID questions, as long as the poster has put in the work to actually write a question that might be answerable.
