Are users offered some type of wizard that posts questions in meta when an answer is deleted or something? I was editing a recent meta post and saw some HTML comments (https://meta.askubuntu.com/revisions/53fcfd6c-a18a-417d-a956-f32d8a4419c0/view-source) that looks like some form of a template.

Q: Why is my ans deleted?

longBoard I have a question about my Ask Ubuntu post: Ubuntu 20.04 ACPI errors after suspend: cannot release Mutex After I realized a persistent error message I searched for it and found the exact problem on someone else's identical system (both xps 15s with ubuntu 20.04). One of the answers wrote "solved:

Q: Community Ads for 2021

JNatWe're almost halfway through 2021, and in case you missed it, Community Promotion Ads are gonna be a bit different this time! TL;DR: submit and vote for ad proposals before August 2nd! What are Community Ads? Community Ads are community-vetted advertisements that will show up on the main site, or...

@Dan Apparently they are. And have been for years! I had no idea either.

Q: A way for "new users" to ask about their post specifically

Robert CartainoWe currently require that new users have 5+ reputation to participate in meta support discussions (bugs, feedback, governance, etc). This is primarily because the use case for meta is not intrinsically obvious, so we require a modicum of "experience" with the site before jumping into it. But th...

@BeastOfCaerbannog I have also flagged askubuntu.com/questions/1346154/… for Moderator intervention on it as it seems to be that they are making up their own rules for it.

@Terrance OK. Please also see my comment about Xubuntu 18.04 in the question.

@BeastOfCaerbannog I just looked at it. I always read that ones the variants like Xubuntu, Lubuntu, MATE, etc that were only 3 year support cycles we were done supporting them. I think I am officially done with this site as it seems that new rules are always created. It is not worth my stress levels.

@Terrance no new rules were created.. I think.
@Terrance sorry for the delayed intervention.

@jokerdino Thank you! I really appreciate your time and the confirmation. :)

@user1164434 CAELinux is a copy of Xubuntu with about 5GB of engineering software added, CAD, CAM, CAE, FEA, etc. The primary subject is: "How to make Ubuntu 18.04 work with Fedora 34?" which seems on-topic to me.
I am wondering if I might get away with asking a new question, such as, if it is possible to do-release-upgrade of CAELinux 18.04 to plain Xubuntu 20.04 and keep all of the engineering software. Or is someone going to ban questions about upgrading to new versions of supported OS.
I think I will test how this works anyway.

Q: How long do we support Ubuntu flavors?

BeastOfCaerbannogRecently, there have been proposed and applied changes regarding “End of Standard Support” and “End of Life”. It is not clear, however, if this policy also applies to the official flavors. For example: Ubuntu MATE 18.04 has reached EOL. Xubuntu 18.04 has reached EOL. Lubuntu 18.04 has reached EO...

hey! my wifi doesn't update. It's becoming a big problem. Any suggestions?
I think I know the answer to this situation now.
systemctl restart wpa_supplicant.service
I just did it on my wife's Ubuntu laptop and it worked... not sure she had the same problem though...
If anyone has anything interesting to comment on this I'd appreciate it - it's something that's been a long-time irritant.
