unity3d seems neat, but i'ld want to see a demo that didn't involve the biped movement transitions they're so proud of. i mean they're wicked awesome at it to be sure, but...there needs to be something else to the engine.
You've got bindings in all kinds of languages, and it's a great engine - but little adoption because it sometimes feels like a scattered workspace to pick up.
the catch with FirefoxOS is that apps don't really need to be "online" apps - they're written in HTML and Javascript, but otherwise they are "full" applications
you see like how on ChromeOS you can use Google Docs offline for viewing only (IIRC), you could actually write an office application on FirefoxOS that works completely offline - but has a lighter payload than a native application (AFAIK).
so long as you're not doing something like what I've tried doing - it will work (and that is, installing/supporting an open source OS in a country where people don't know the difference between windows and "blind")

usera@srv1:$touch a.txt
I will find the owner of this file will be usera, just like
usera@srv1:$ll

The problem with it for developers is finding out how to do what they want to do, and a little issue with speed (Frame rates are poor in my experience).
the game engine is interesting, it's the physics engine that is relatively weak by comoparison...and tweening. i consider unity to be a tweening engine. if there was a free trial of havok i think blender would pwn
@aking1012 yeah I've heard that HP laptops (especially the dv6 series) were meat to have heating issues/hardware failures, but I've had it work without a problem, and I'd like to keep on using it for a while yet
