I'm using Pop_OS 19.10 and befor (19.04) I was able to use my ds4 controller, It was very easy to set up. But now I have no clue on how to do it, I have tried a bunch of stuff.
@WinEunuuchs2Unix it depends. We shouldn't just copy and paste everything from somewhere as there may be copyright issues. From SE it's fine - we only have to give attribution in the proper way - for other sources we should try to find copyright or license information to see if and how we can use it
I'm new to Linux and I'm struggling to get a copy of this site https://cbues.bibliotecasdigitales.com/read/9786077078715 to read without an internet connection, please, how can I get that copy in pdf or at least in html?
I'm getting this message when I open Deezer on Firefox on Ubuntu 18.04.

@Zanna that also assume you need to keep tracks of changes to licensing after creating your answer. So no, not a good idea. ALWAYS rewrite your answer when copying from somewhere. Installation lines are fine as is but the wording should always be from the person making the answer. Same goes for including images: if those have a watermark... make your own of find one w/o.
@WinEunuuchs2Unix that was just one of many answers that author had copied verbatim from other sources. No, for it to be OK, it would have to be in a quote block and mentioning the source and even then, we don't really want answers that are just direct copies of other things.
no, I just see some high rep users that don't check edit suggestions, so I used to be stuck with max edit suggestions (If edit suggestions couldn't be approved by OPs, I would stay stuck a real long time, some of mine are approved or edited by them)
each user do which work they want, i understand some of them don't like to do a 2nd review because it isn't really interesting
@damadam I guess I'm one of those "high rep users that don't check edit suggestions". There isn't enough time in the day to write code for all the questions posted here as it is. If you do want an edit approved just link it here and I (and probably a few others) will quickly vote on it. Rather than approving as is we can quickly hammer it through with another edit and improvement that doesn't need voting.
@WinEunuuchs2Unix you re not the lonely one, and I didn't blame you (and others) to not do take time to review these edits, it's just me that grumble because i'm limited x)
revision history can anyone just review this question, I had already done on it, but I let a few because I didn't know really how to manage all the post; unfortunately, OP accept the edit, so it would be hard for reviewers to correct what I leave :/
@Rinzwind I think the OP wants to know how to sever the link between the two files and end up with two independent files. Of course, that isn't possible, but rm isn't the answer either.
@damadam OP: I want to remove a hard link.
An answer should explain that with hard links you don't have two files, you have one "file" and two pointers to it.
I think you're right that the goal was to have two separate files that start out with the same contents and then diverge. But even if the goal is satisfied by just running rm on one, I still don't think the question is a duplicate of How to remove symbolic link.
I agree with your comment about how the OP is asking about hard links and a question about symbolic links won't help them understand what to do.
As the title says, I would like to know the difference between a hard link and a soft link created by the command ln. The command man ln does provide information, but does not sufficiently answer my question.
Also, it would be nice if someone could provide a setting where hard link might be pref...
No, a hard link is completely different. A soft link is closer to a Windows shortcut (though there are important differences, symbolic links are more similar to windows shortcuts than hard links are). A hard link is a different thing and one you will almost never need.
Briefly, a soft link is c...
I have recently installed a Ubuntu partition on my MacBook Pro (running Catalina). The first challenge I have found is that, although Ubuntu sees available wifi networks, it will not connect to them despite entering the correct password. I have verified various networks and passwords on another d...
@terdon Yes, those are definitely both relevant. I don't know that it's a duplicate of either of them, though. For now, I'll post a "Related:" comment.
This (on Unix & Linux) is highly relevant and useful:
I am keeping my dotfiles under version control and the script deploying them creates hard links. I also use etckeeper to put my /etc under version control. Recently I have gotten warnings like this:
warning: hard-linked files could cause problems with bzr
A simple copy (cp filename.ext filenam...
@Rinzwind Does this account for the fact that a lot of docker images rely on other docker images? e.g. the one in question pulls three different dockerfiles before getting to an ubuntu image
@ThomasWard No I didn't mean that. Your profile says this: "Ubuntu Core Developer Team Member since June 17, 2019 (grants upload rights to the repository)"
@dessert for which team? Server team, it was nginx. Ubuntu Studio team, I'm the designated uploader/reviewer for New packages that aren't in the repos anywhere. Lubuntu team, I do a little of everything, but I also help run their infra and help look after security concerns in some of the packages.
and I do general bug triage everywhere
as well as upload sponsoring now that I have coredev
@TheLittleNaruto software development, not necessarily 'backend' dev.
Server Team maintains the Ubuntu Server flavor/ISOs and many of the Server packages. Lubuntu is all the Lubuntu flavor of Ubuntu. Ubuntu Studio is the Studio flavor of Ubuntu.
@TheLittleNaruto read through wiki.ubuntu.com/ContributeToUbuntu to see various ways to contribute. If you're new, I'd just keep using Ubuntu and learn what you can first.
i've been using Ubuntu since 2009 so I have a lot of experience under my belt to do what i do heh
