it's an answer about how fork bombs works, and I wrote an answer with the wrong assumption that a function running a command in the background would wait it to return before stopping, so :(){ : &};: isn't really a fork bomb..

@Benny You basically can't. Editing a question or any of its answers bumps it on the front page of the site, but that doesn't change the order in which answers appears on the question itself.

The default ordering of answers on a question is by votes, which means that posts with higher score (upvotes minus downvotes) appear higher and posts with the same score appear in a randomized order with respect to one another, but if the OP has accepted an answer that another user wrote, then that appears at the top regardless of it score. The system lets users select two other orderings -- active and oldest -- but the votes ordering is the one that is in use by default.

With the active ordering, editing an answer will cause it to appear the the top. You should not edit your answers with no reason just to make that happen, though (and anyway, most people don't use the active ordering). With the oldest ordering, answers that were posted earlier will appear before answers that were posted later.
