@ThomasWard The ssh question : OP mentioned "I have not set up an ssh server, but I am not sure it's necessary" Did I misinterpret it ?

@cl-netbox key word is NAT in the network settings for VBox / VM
@cl-netbox double-NAT setup if they're behind a router

Thank you @ThomasWard for clarification ! :)

ROUTER ----forwarded Port 22----> Win10 ----forwarded to Port 22 on NAT adapter----> VBox Nat Adapter ----forwarded Port 22 to VM IP----> VM
hate you to chat system
@cl-netbox the easier way to skip the internals is Bridged Mode.
but the q is ultimately a "How do I do this in Windows VBox" not "Is this an Ubuntu issue?"
@cl-netbox also...
> because I have no idea what my guest's IP address is

^ they don't know how to find things

2:50 PM
@ThomasWard okay understood ... I'll remove my comment then ... :)

@cl-netbox i'm probably going to forward it to Super User shortly, it's less an Ubuntu question and a "How do I do this in VBox Settings and Stuff" question
though I may ask an SU mod

@ThomasWard well usually when ubuntu is concerned it's on-topic - right ?

@cl-netbox Unless it's not an Ubuntu configuration issue
we don't give Windows support/config stuff here :P

@ThomasWard hahaha ... yes of course not ! :D
Good answer @ThomasWard - well explained, so +1 from me ! :)

@JourneymanGeek Good Chaos and Darkness to thee. Is askubuntu.com/questions/883641/… suited for your site, since at this point it's something outside the Ubuntu support side and the configuration stuff instead for Windows VBox.
at least as my interpretation is

2:55 PM
I'm biased cause of the ASCII diagram but sure

oh hey you replied

lol
I was actually distracted in the room that shall not be named ;)
and I was here anyway

@ThomasWard ."configuration stuff instead for Windows VBox" ... this is valid for many of the vbox questions on AU - right ?

@cl-netbox slightly more evil / different processes for Linux
@cl-netbox iptables, etc.
vs. Windows Firewall

@cl-netbox more that the question's mainly focused on the whole network outside the linux box

2:57 PM
^ that
lol REP GLITCH
it had +40 from the 4 upvotes
then showed +80 because that converted to +40 on SU
but didn't reflect the -40 from the migration xD
(but shows accurately in my rep counter on AU, but not the general stuff)

@ThomasWard dark evil magic my friend ... hahaha

@ThomasWard that will fix itself and the end of the day.
-at

Rinzy ! :)

@Rinzwind actually, already fixed
i just clicked the rep track box :)
@cl-netbox muahahahah

@ThomasWard cool answer btw ... but I doubt OP will get it done ... complicated setup configs for normal users :D

3:04 PM
@cl-netbox hence the Bridged Mode recommendation
then they only need to do the first-level port forward as I stated in my answer.

Yxob!

@ThomasWard good idea ... similar to what we do in LXD - right ?
@Rinzwind WTH is this now ? :D

@cl-netbox Pretty much, yeah, though the LXD bridge would need configured as a bridge, otherwise it's a NAT bridge, and iptables port-forward
@cl-netbox or in my case, double-pivot-points
SSH Server on my laptop itself, then SSH to the guest.
:P
so I can NAT-bridge everything
yay, security and paranoia

@ThomasWard :D :D :D
@Rinzwind Rinzy ... man, now I got it ! was to blind to see and read ... hahaha :D :D :D

D:

3:14 PM
@JourneymanGeek fun fact: the last time I ever had anything even remotely near +70 in a day on my SU account was +40 on an answer back in 2011. And the +100 assoc. bonus from 2011 too heh
now I'm +70
and i'm laughing
but still :P

@ThomasWard you did not :=)

nah just kidding, I admit I am not a Linux god. Yet.

yay for mass poofing of posts, BLACKMAGIC

You two guys are close to being genius @Rinzwind @ThomasWard ! :D

3:19 PM
^Heyheyhey, I was just reading that stuff...

lol

hi

@TheXed Hello ! :)

whats up?

3:23 PM
@TheXed our most dark evil mod @ThomasWard forced a user to leave AU ! hahaha (joke) :D

@cl-netbox who did he kill off?

@TheXed this one ... in case you have an account, you can add your upvote to the answer from @ThomasWard -> superuser.com/questions/1179114/… he wants to become legendary there on SU ! :D

@ThomasWard I got 200 on SU 74 times ;p

I am a super user... but a member...that is an entirely different question.
So I bought Civ 6, and have played my first game for 6 hours and have made little progress toward victory...

almost a trophy for ThomasWard

3:27 PM
@TheXed I am not a member there ... but I could place my upvote before that thing was migrated ! :D

A: My cat sat on my laptop, now the right side of my keyboard types the wrong characters

AibobotThat's the standard tenkeyless Num Lock key layout found on many PCs. Turn off Num Lock - on my Lenovo, it's Fn + F10, but the combination may vary by manufacturer.

this is my most upvoted answer...
(notice. I posted it with my sock ><)

@JourneymanGeek cool :D

amusingly that's supposed to be a low rep sock
so I'm using that pool of reputation for bounties for stuff that blows my mind

3:48 PM
lol
@TheXed someone posted a Windows VBox Double NAT Networking issue with an Ubuntu guest here, but the core issue isn't an Ubuntu one, i'ts a Windows Host one.
so, migrated :P

@ThomasWard Hey ... you're close to getting a nice answer badge (only 1 UV missing) and I saw your comment "just make sure the guest has openssh-server installed" ... so my (additional) idea was not so bad - right ? :)

@JourneymanGeek Most people find it easier to type with their fingers, or at least gloves.

@cl-netbox Yep. Networking issue is the primary one though :P

@TRiG technically booties.

@ThomasWard I know ! :)

3:58 PM
@JourneymanGeek One of these days, your real identity will come out and it will turn out you're actually Gaspode.

@terdon I probably smell better

Frankly, I bloody well hope so!

@terdon Is that Rinzy's homepage ? :D Hi terdon - good afternoon ! :)

Could be, yes :)

@ThomasWard @Zacharee1 Just listened to this for the first time in years and had forgotten there's a reference to your more or less backyard. ( youtube.com/watch?v=cbzIVR1OaAY at 2:25 or so)

4:09 PM
@terdon I'm pretty sure Prachett has a soft spot for terriers
(wuffles, gaspode... though he did have a pug in one story)

@ThomasWard So I saw.

4:30 PM
@JourneymanGeek Well, he was a strange, if wonderful, man.

4:47 PM
@SmokeDetector n
oh screw you too Smokey

5:12 PM
askubuntu.com/a/878950/72216 You've got fanmail @terdon obviously he isn't familiar with the time command :/

@Zanna are you sure posts closed for more than 5 days won't get sent to the reopen queue? I know it didn't used to be that way..

@Seth in the help center, it says that posts that are [on hold] will be sent to the reopen queue when edited - and this only lasts 5 days...
I checked and the post they had edited wasn't sent to review
I wasn't sure myself

huh

and I'm wary of editing closed posts
because I don't want to send them to reopen
so I've occasionally done it and commented

Morning guys. Here's a trick question: You can run 32-bit executable on 64-bit OS with appropriate libraries. Now what if you do the reverse ? do I need 64 bit libraries to run 64-bit exe on 32-bit os ?

5:22 PM
"hey reviewers, sorry I just could not stand to see this dupe here with horrible grammar in the title, please leave closed"

> Closed questions that receive edits within the first 5 days of closure are automatically put into a review queue to be considered for reopening.

but after doing that a couple of times, I check the review queue, and no sign of them

yep, guess so. They must have changed something. It was kind of annoying to have old questions get sent to review when someone edited them.

so I concluded that the help center is correct, and no surprises
yay for the devs!

Hi everyone :)

5:23 PM
@Serg pretty sure it's just not possible, but the exact reasoning is fuzzy in my mind.

hi @Hizqeel how are you?
@Serg no you need a 64-bit kernel

@Zanna I am fine :) What about you? How's everything?

@Hizqeel all good here thanks :)

Hey @Hizqeel

I'm testing 17.04 in live mode to see if the bay trail kernel c-state bug has been fixed
no freezing so far
I might need some help reopening a question that I think probably should not have been closed later on

5:25 PM
@JacobVlijm o/ :) How are you? How's your day going?

@Hizqeel Hello Hizqeel ! :) How are you feeling today ? Hope you could overcome the shock you experienced yesterday "somehow" successfully ... :)

@Hizqeel really fine! yours?

@Zanna @Seth OK. I guess I'll just stick with developing for 64-bit OS then.

Good evening @Zanna ! :)

@cl-netbox hi o/ ... I am fine... and yes I feeling better.. :D What about you ?
@JacobVlijm Doing good

5:27 PM
@cl-netbox what happened?

@Hizqeel Nothing special from my side ... "business" as usual ... :)

how did AU Meta post this?
yesterday, by Ask Ubuntu Meta
I'm a turnip! Bleep!

@MarkYisri Hi Mark ! :) @Hizqeel survived a blast attack yesterday ... he was only a few yards away ! :)

@cl-netbox So The ban lifted today and voila I reviewed with the speed of light :D and a strange/funny thing happened :p

5:29 PM
@Hizqeel Great ! :) What happened ?

@Serg no more 32-bit support after 16.10 anyway I think
@cl-netbox evening to you :) ... hey where did the day go?

@cl-netbox Another ban right after 3 hours :( :p This time it was for 10 days

@Hizqeel What ??? Please tell me more ... :)

@cl-netbox :D :D

@Zanna Yeah, that too, but 14.04 is still supported till 2019 and that has 32-bit versions.

5:32 PM
@Serg good point! And 16.04 will be supported for ages and ages

@Hizqeel Does this message mean that you were kiddin' when you said you're banned again ? :)
@Serg @Serg @Zanna Who cares about 32-bit OSes in these days ? "stone old" technology ! :D

@cl-netbox ahh No Not Kiddin.. I am banned again let me tell you what happened

@cl-netbox developers who want to reach out to broader audience ;)

@Serg My guess (and it is very much a guess, I don't know the first thing about such low level stuff) is that while a 64bit processor can deal with 32bits (64 > 32), a 32bit one can't deal with 64 (32 < 64). So I would guess that the processor itself simply cannot deal with 64bit code, whatever library you give it.

@terdon Exactly that ! :)

5:35 PM
I feel a bit 64

@Zanna nothing special today ... wrote two answers and helped out on other questions with comments. :)

@Serg Haha, great

There's only 10 types of people in this world . . . those who understand binary jokes and those who don't. Unless they're using tristate devices - then it depends on their state

@Hizqeel yes ? waiting ... :)

5:37 PM
Gotta love fiber optic connections:
$ rsync --progress -r foo:/path/to/ .
receiving incremental file list
foo.fastq.gz
    257,790,607 100%   68.22MB/s    0:00:03 (xfr#1, to-chk=29/31)
68.22MB/s
If only that were the speed of my internet and not just that of the transfer between two servers at work :(

@cl-netbox I was so excited for the review after the ban lifted don't know why..! Last time I was banned for reviewing LA review due to 2 reasons 1. it took me too much time 7 to 9 sec and than I wrongly clicked No action needed on NAN .. This time It was FP and I Flagged almost 8 NAN But As I was reviewing With the speed of light Again I Wrongly reviewed another and in result I have to wait 10 more days my Bad ..... :/

@Hizqeel On this site?

@cl-netbox I think Its time that now I have to pay attention for solving other's problems rather than reviewing :p
@terdon No on SO

@Hizqeel hmmm ... what can I say ? ... better you slow down a bit while reviewing :)

Ah

5:41 PM
@cl-netbox Than I will be banned again I think You know what Undo said

@Hizqeel yes, he said you are reviewing as fast as lightning ... that's why I proposed to do it a bit slower - or did I get this wrong ? :)

there's no need to rush with reviewing... better to go slow and do it right :)

Yeah, listen to @Zanna, she's never been banned! :P

@Hizqeel Important is to concentrate on one thing, be it solving problems by answering questions or reviewing posts ... we never should do too many things at the same time. :)
@terdon hahaha

@cl-netbox He said Your review time was 7 - 9 sec which Is a little Slow I am Probably talking in case of 3-4 sec... Which mean hurry up..! That's what I got
Any how I will not review now on SO

5:46 PM
@terdon haha yeah don't do as I do, do as I say >_<

@Zanna Roger that :)

it's the audits that make me go fast - if it looks like an audit, I want to get it over with lol and move onto the real work

I am slow anyway, no risk for me...

@Hizqeel then I think you misunderstood him ... :)

5:48 PM
@Hizqeel ah you're too nice, I shouldn't be giving advice of any kind!

> Won't find me practicing what I'm preaching
Won't find me making no sacrifice
But I can get you a pocketful of miracles
If you promise to be good, try to be nice
God will take good care of you
Just do as I say, don't do as I do

@cl-netbox may be ...

@Zanna :)

@Zanna :)

5:50 PM
Speaking about culture, do you know this one?

@JacobVlijm AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaargh!

...isn't it @terdon

Can't listen to more than a few seconds of that. Wow. Painful.

I think it's brilliant :)

I can't make it through it. Just too unpleasant. Brilliant, perhaps, but I can't take it. I really can't stand off key music.

5:54 PM
You do realize it was not the actual recording :) ?

@terdon Which kind of music is your favorite ? :)

Grrr

Its giving me headache

@JacobVlijm Anyway. Yes, I do realize :)

5:57 PM
...There are many of these messed up recordings. This is what we do during lessons if sudents didn't practice :)

@cl-netbox Jazz mostly but I grew up on a steady diet of (mostly 60ies, some 90ies) rock.

When classics combine with modern

@Serg looking at his stage, he's on a holiday :)

@terdon interesting, same with me, I grew up with Stones, Who, Led Zep and stuff like that ... though Jazz is not so my favorite. :)

Any Game lover

6:00 PM
Yep :) I was into those but more into Pink Floyd, Beatles, Jefferson Airplane and the Hippy scene.
And then I discovered Jazz in my early 20ies and got really, really into that.

@terdon That was my stuff too but now I'm into jazz and classical mostly

Yeah, me too these days.

@terdon division bell <3

In fact, started learning jazz clarinet and saxophone.

@terdon you meant to say "one of these days" :+)

6:01 PM
@Rinzwind Heh. One of my least favorites, actually, but still a great album. For any other band, it would have been their best.
@Rinzwind :P

Can someone help me fix my grub partition?

I grew up on some punk rock, some heavy metal ( Iron Maiden style). Then a long came Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Korn, and Slipknot. Although I've been listening to rap/hip hop as well quite a lot. Now, I just listen to what makes me happy and suits my mood.

. . . I'm going to cut you into little pieces!

:D

I deleted it in order to increase the size of my root partition since it was in the way

6:02 PM
@terdon Early Floyd were great : Careful with the axe Eugine ... :)

While multidisciplinary is the keyword at contemporary stage productions, never saw a stronger example; the saddest plastic bag ever.

And supposedly boot repair would fix it
But boot repair won't work in legacy mode in bios

@ROODAY What did you delete exactly?

But the Ubuntu live cd isn't being noticed in uefi mode

6:02 PM
did you delete your esp?

Me Prince: 80s and 90s, 90s metallica. within temptation Nightwish After Forever c..

I deleted dev/sdb3, which had the flag bios_grub
It was blocking me from increasing the size of sdb2
And boot repair isn't able to do its job in legacy mode apparently

@ROODAY OK, post a question on the main site please. That way we can see all the information in one place, more people can see your issue who might be ab;e to help and the site gets another good question.

@ROODAY the worst you could do ... sorry :)

No, hang on, did you delete the EFI partition while it was mounted?

6:05 PM
@cl-netbox I was following another post on ask Ubuntu, it said running boot repair would fix it after deleting it
@terdon no I did this from a live cd

@ROODAY OK, but was the EFI partition mounted? Did you actually delete its contents?

I did delete the contents as it was blocking the partition on its left from being resized, and I wasn't able to move it to the right

Um. Doesn't that brick the PC?
What state is the machine in now? Can you boot into a live CD? Can you boot into the EFI/BIOS whatever options?

@ROODAY then you misunderstood it ... :)

I can boot into the live cd and my windows partition just not Ubuntu

6:08 PM
@ROODAY Ah, OK then. Phew. OK, so please post a question on the main site. Then we have something to look at while discussing it.

@cl-netbox can you tell me what I misunderstood here? askubuntu.com/a/405371/285001

@ROODAY when you deleted the boot partition, ubuntu is un-bootable ! :)

You can recover from this but it's a pain. I once had a distro (Mageia, I think) reformat the EFI partition while installing it, making several other distros unbootable. You can recreate the partition and use the live cd to copy the correct files into it. But I'm an experienced user and I still thought it was just easier to reinstall things.

Also, while I don't know how this will work on an EFI system (I've never bothered with grub on EFI, I just use the EFI loader instead), you may as well try the steps in my answer here:
10
A: How can I fix/install/reinstall grub?

terdonSo, it sounds like you have not installed a boot loader (e.g. grub) on the disk. This means that although you have a valid OS on it, there is no way to boot it and so you can't use it. You need to attach the HDD to a working computer (you can use a live CD), set up a chroot environment and insta...

@terdon I'll check that out thanks

6:09 PM
@chaskes But would reinstalling fix it? You mean re-create the EFI first and then reinstall?
@ROODAY I really have no idea if it will help on an EFI system. Try at your own risk.
I guess @Rinzwind or @JourneymanGeek might know more about this sort of thing.

@terdon the whole setup seems to be a mess ... the easiest thing for @ROODAY would be to start from scratch and reinstall ubuntu :)

@terdon Yes, that's what I did, but you could let the installer handle the recreation as well.

@chaskes OK. I was afraid that @ROODAY had deleted the files on the EFI which would delete the firmware and brick the machine, apparently.

I'm not sure what the effect on win is, but a linux install will recreate everything fine.

@chaskes Not if you've deleted the firmware which, for reasons I have yet to understand, the system mounts in rw mode.
I think anyway. That's what I've been told. I am not about to try it, thank you.

6:13 PM
Well, my knowledge of this has limits, but I've cleared drives completely, including EFI, and reinstalled, various linux with no problems.

@terdon he seems to have had "bios_grub" partition ... completely wrong setup ! :) He needs an EFI partition ... :)

not me! I hate efi :+\

@Rinzwind me not ! :D

@cl-netbox Well, EFi can load Grub which can load other OSs. Isn't that the default system on Ubuntu these days?
OK, so deleting the partition should not affect the machine. But deleting the files in /sys/firmware/efi/efivars/ will probably completely brick it (!).
And, sadly, rm -rf /sys is a perfectly valid command, unlike rm -rf /.

@terdon GRUB menu is only the surface ... in EFI machines EVERY system has its OWN boot loader, which is located in a sub-folder on the EFI partition. :)

6:17 PM
@terdon Oh, yeah, I remember that article now. But I've had no trouble either 1) removing and recreating efi partition by hand 2) letting the installer handle it and 3) one time even did the rm thing with no problem.

@cl-netbox Yes, but it's the other way around. The efi bootloader is in charge of booting everything else but it can only load EFI executables. So when working with GRUB, EFI load GRUB and GRUB loads the OS. For native EFI systems (like Linux) you don't need grub at all.
@chaskes Are you sure about that last thing? Did you specifically delete the files under /sys/firmware/efi/efivars/?

@terdon No, just the standard --no-preserve thing I don't want to type.

Hmmm, that should have also gotten rid of the firmware stuff then. Interesting.
I don't have a spare machine to test this on though :)
And I won't be doing it on my brand new laptop, thank you very much.
Oh yes, @cl-netbox, it finally arrived this weekend!

@terdon There is no efi boot loader ... if you only install ubuntu for example, all boot files are in the ubuntu folder

@terdon I think I remember matthew garret saying somewhere else that it depends on oem things that i don't fully understand. If I remember I'll try it on a laptop I might be recycling soon-ish and let you know.

6:21 PM
@terdon WOW ... great ! :) I wish you to have a lot of fun with your new machine ! :)

@cl-netbox Argh, sorry, meant systemdboot.

@terdon By the way, here you find how to re-install GRUB in the most correct and professional way -> askubuntu.com/questions/880662/… (part 2 of the answer) I can't understand why so many users recommend boot-repair ! :)

@terdon interesting ... deserves an upvote ... done ! :)

So does yours and also done.

6:27 PM
I hate boot repair. btw, @cl-netbox ubuntu makes this easy with grub-install auto installing the correct versions but in Fedora you need to specifically install the correct uefi packages.

@terdon Thank you very much ! :)

But I suggest you change the sd* and sd** to something else, just inc ase someone actually uses sd* which will be expanded. I think sdN or whatever would be safer.
@chaskes I've never seen boot-repair. I've read about it all over the place but have never used it.

@terdon good idea to not use that tool ! :)

@terdon I tried it a couple of times. Nothing against those devs, but it seems that facts on the ground move faster than they can keep up. When faced with this kind of situation (which has happened since I like to experiment on cheap refurbs) I either find manual instructions or just let the installer redo everything.

@chaskes brothers in mind ... I hate it too :)

6:30 PM
yep. ;)

I thought it was some Windows thing.
Ah no, it's an Ubuntu thing. I see.

OT, strictly programming question, also too broad: askubuntu.com/q/883709/295286

This is the way to do it for fedora (from an installation media) ->

sudo mkdir /mnt/sysimage
sudo mount /dev/sdb3 /mnt/sysimage
sudo mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/sysimage/boot/efi
for dir in /dev /proc /sys; do mount --bind $dir /mnt/sysimage/$dir ; done
sudo chroot /mnt/sysimage
dnf reinstall grub2-efi shim
grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/efi/EFI/fedora/grub.cfg
exit

@cl-netbox Thanks, I'll keep handy. I figured you already had the steps since I remember you use fedora too

@chaskes You're welcome ! :) replace sdb3 and sdb1 with your partitions (this is my setup ... swap is on sdb2 and ubuntu is on sdb4)

6:50 PM
Goodbye, see you tomorrow :)

See you later

I hate it when you need a manager/supervisor and they're nowhere to be found

@terdon I had this conversation with @cl-netbox before!

Great minds. . .

but I think he was just humoring me when he changed it then...

7:07 PM
@Zanna I don't think it's ever been changed. Don't see it in the edit history in any case.

it must have been a different post about the same thing

Keep on adding features to my indicator-bulletin. . . .I've a whole list, and I'm only half done with it. Plus, I keep thinking of new things to add

7:25 PM
@Serg, don't get me wrong, I love your answer, but in general I think too many features is a bigger risk than too little. Did you see mac's link to jumpcut below my answer? I think extremely elegant in its simplicity

7:35 PM
Did I really just sleep in until almost noon? Yes I did :P

I envy you...

Don't. I'm doing it because my back is very sore and needs to heal.
Otherwise I would have been up sooner.

Ouch, sorry to hear. Did the sleep help?

Yes, it seems to have helped a bit.

7:39 PM
Lol!

I want this :p

^ not good for your back

Definitely :P

7:53 PM
@JacobVlijm I'll check out jumpcut eventually. Yeah, sometimes too many features can be a problem, but I just like making my scripts/indicators multipurpose

@Serg ...and it is so much fun to do :)

huh, snapd is written in go. Cool.

@Seth Canonical is sure Go-ing in the right direction . . .*awkward smile*

>.>

8:24 PM
@Seth You think it's abuse of power if I kick him? He can come back in a minute. . .

@Serg oh great, sergpunz
@terdon don't be Oli :p

@Zacharee1 I'm not oily! I just washed my hands!

@terdon I think you know the answer to that ;)

@terdon wat

@terdon mmmm, olio.

8:25 PM
Damn it @Serg, it's contagious!

as long as we're playing telephone, Othello

@Zacharee1 Well, Oli is close to oil. And it is oil in Catalan, which is probably why that gem of a pun jumped to my mind.

@Seth Capital Cities is also a good band to listen to
@terdon why do you know Catalán?

@Zacharee1 I used to live there. I spent 7 years in Barcelona.

@Zacharee1 he lived there.

8:26 PM
ah
but can't you get away with Spanish? They're pretty similar, aren't they?

@Zacharee1 As much as Spanish and French.

really?

Catalan is probably closer to French than Spanish.
@Zacharee1 Yes, absolutely. It isn't a dialect of Spanish, it's a completely separate Romance language in its own right.

there was someone who spoke Catalán who went to my school last year. It was pretty easy to understand knowing Spanish
@terdon didn't think it was a dialect, just very similar

You can live (easily) in Barcelona without speaking it but that's because everyone (almost) speaks Spanish, not because you can understand it.

8:28 PM
kinda like Italian vs. Spanish
@NathanOsman new room title

Well yes, all Romance tongues are similar and if you speak one or two you can understand the rest. Or try to. But that doesn't mean you can actually speak them.

@terdon well....come :)
you're very welcome

@terdon guess I didn't see enough to see the differences
although I could probably recognize it

It sounds like they're choking.

I'm good at recognizing languages, even if I don't know them

8:29 PM
(Don't tell anyone I said that)

like I can tell Chinese (Simplified vs. Traditional) vs. Japanese vs. Korean
@terdon lol
gtg
although I always think Portuguese is Spanish until I run into the ã

Yes, in writing they are very similar. You wouldn't confuse them for a second when hearing them spoken though.

8:43 PM
He have you been so many places?

?

@Zacharee1 knowing that there is Ook and Chicken programming languages, it seems only fitting that one day you should become the author of Hue language

I have one Brazilian mentor student. He speaks like velvet. Fascinating, really.
