@Serg Oh, then of course it works. It's not because "everything in bash script is a separate command", it's because you're not running the simple shell command, but using the right tool for the job.

Apparently they are. As you've shown, when you run the command the inhibitor is only there as long as the command is running. This isn't shell-dependent, it seems to be how the command itself works.

Q: Single Click Expose

Is it possible to have single click on the dock icons activate expose by default? If you have a single window open in ubuntu it doesn't activate expose but if you have multiple windows open it does. This cause issues when I tried to use expose on several different windows in ubuntu.
