@terdon Because the error was WTF for the normal errors gcc gives me. So maybe it was not the compiler but one of the steps

so I created only the object first

then ran nm with it because ubuntu already has it lol

The question is basically in the title. usermod -v and usermod -w can be used to manipulate the subuid and subgid ranges for a user account, but there appears to be no tool that can merely list them. Is there one? At least on my Ubuntu 14.04 box getent doesn't seem to be prepared to handle that...
