@mod could delete this answer so redirection takes place askubuntu.com/q/345523/169736 ?
yeah, it is a quote only answer, and covered in the dupe as well.
01:12
hehehe, today I read the AU newsletter to find my question there :S
I don't believe a +2K rep user still does this:
hm, maybe just has a way of asking popular questions... askubuntu.com/help/badges/28/famous-question?userid=8119
anyway rep is not the most important thing...
@Mateo badges are?
01:28
nah.
Oct 4 '12 at 12:56, by jrg
BADGES? we don't need no stinking badges!
In UL seems that they will get the first Marshall badge thanks to a troll...
hm, we don't show helpful flags in other profiles?
nope, but we can see badges
01:44
That one is a bit more common on this site...
Awarded to you not too long ago ;) congrats
02:16
hello ? still awake ?
@Braiam hi ?
wanted to install secs ago libhtml-tiny-perl with synaptic ... but it is "empty" ... there is entry but no package ?
huh?
mean entry in synaptic is given and behaves so as if installing. but command whereis cannot tell where package is ?
in terminal installing or reinstalling fails ...
that is a library, not a binary. You cannot execute it. if you use php in a webserver, the module will be available
ah I see ... if using command perl then this library will be executed ?
or in perl script, whatever
only if you use the module, otherwise only basic perl will be available
02:20
ok and in which /lib directory is this file then ? (libhtml-tiny-perl)
12.10 here ...
just change raring for quantal :(
ok. thx you helped a lotz ! normally would spend a beer then ...
but different continents ...
you cannot sleep tonight ?
gotta go some coding stuff ... nice weekend !
man, I know the kernel is Torvalls baby, but I think he overprotects it... paritynews.com/2013/09/10/2710/…

hello
This question appears to be off-topic because it is about trolling — Craig Sanders 2 mins ago
03:45
@Braiam , I've been watching that guy as well. Pity about his tactics but unix.stackexchange.com/questions/90710/… is at least "half-genuine" IMO. I had the same issue with fonts in an Openbox session looking weird compared to my regular Lubuntu session. I asked on the same site and got 8 views in 48 h. So I deleted my question, went somewhere else and got help.
@vasa1 I think they are trying to evitate the confrontations in comments... things got pretty heat up there, nothing to do with the valid questions, just the problem to deal with the slander afterwards
04:08
@Braiam, yup, in their chat room they suggested basically "not to feed the troll" and not even to downvote or vote to close. They prefer just flagging the post referring to the return of the troll.
04:19
@vasa1 That's pretty hilarious...both question and comment. I felt similarly about a question regarding svg rendering in chromium. To optimize performance they made it render vectors more sloppily, so it looked less like an svg and more like a scaled jpeg. You can't explain that though.

Q: Emacs alternate editor client server start

dustinHow can I get Emacs to start in server mode with the alternate editor? From this conversation, I was able to enable the server with the alternate editor. However, I just re-installed emacs and I am receiving the following error now: emacsclient: can't find socket; have you started the server? ...

@rajagenupula: answer posted as an edit to a question? Clearly reject it
@JourneymanGeek sorry . Not understanding.
i have seen some post in review and I have skipped that for review next one. can I see it later ?
@JourneymanGeek No answer was edited in. He's saying an anon post was edited by an anon user and he has no way to attribute the edits to the same person as the asker. That's how I read it.
@hbdgaf yeah
and one more Q is , can I review skipped content again ?
05:15
I just hit the back button
@hbdgaf: would reject that too, for the same reason
I mean for later review intentionally ....
@JourneymanGeek fair. I think he was questioning whether "added reasonable data" was more or less important than attribution on an anonymous question. That's a judgement call I don't want to make.

Q: what I am supposed to do on edits like this?

rajagenupula In the above Image edit was suggested by unknown user. That edit seems to be not spam and related to user Question. This is so creepy for some reason
So I just finished installing FreeBSD, and I'm starting the tweaking process...
@rajagenupula: go to edits, then history, I guess
can't look it up on AU, since I don't have the rep here
06:18
@JourneymanGeek :) thank you.

Q: Is the Wistron NeWeb DNUB-236 supported on Raspbian?

Amith KKI have a Wistron NeWeb DNUB-236 USB wifi dongle, which has the Broadcom BCM43236 chip onboard. I got it to work on my ubuntu system by using the brcmfmac driver. Is this driver supported on Raspbian? Is there any other way to get it working?

This has got to be like the most "unclear what you're asking" question: askubuntu.com/questions/345902/instaling-on-stick-not-working
@AmithKK I starred at that gif for an awkwardly long amount of time.
@Alaa what was... that?
Whops, *stared.
@Braiam haha yeah, I was O.o?
Okay time to hop into the Ubuntu police room.
"read music with streaming", what?
Haha, I don't know man =).
@Braiam can you post the "half-answer" pro-forma comment here?
God, what the hell is wrong with my typing today.
16:26
@Alaa "here" where?
Here, in chat =D.
###[A]Half answer in a comment
Can you include a answer with instructions on how to do that? [Leaving a half-answer as a comment](meta.askubuntu.com/questions/2281/…) can often cause more harm than good. Thanks.
there
Gracias.
wait, if most of us know spanish, why go out of our way talking in english?
No, la mayoría de nosotros no sabe español, Google translate hace.
Not sure if that even makes sense after translation.
16:34
only the first part... the later was like "Google translate make"... and I was "make what?"

I noticed that there is no tag for "redis"
No one has asked a question about redis on this site before?
jrg
jrg
no, we've never tagged it.
more like, "nobody has bothered to create a 'redis' tag"
jrg
jrg

@JohnMerlino if you create the tag, please create too the tag wiki ;)
I don't have enough rep
21:36
@jrg Can you synonymize to please?
I'm not even sure if my question should be here or stackoverflow
@Seth just who created that tag???
jrg
jrg
@Seth thanks
@JohnMerlino post your question and we can deal with it afterward ;) (migration, tagging etc)
@Braiam I dunno..
@jrg Thank you ;)
I think we should change to or some such.
yeah, click invite messy tagging about "mouse clicks" and such....
do a wiki and sinonimize both...
also add that mouse clicks should use at the end of the excerpt
@jrg 's opinion?
@JohnMerlino Okay, I added a for you. Can you create a tag wiki for it please?
@Seth he don't have enough rep to create tags, less to propose tag wiki's >_<
@Braiam There isn't a priv. to propose tag wikis. I've seen users with 1 rep propose tag wikis..
yes Ill add a description
21:47
Not quite 1 rep I guess.
btw, I can't believe those wiki edits got approved... He completely changed the meaning of the tag >.<
@jrg revert that! is spam!
Eh?

@JohnMerlino Edit approved. Also, if you copy a tag wiki from another site (i.e. redis.io) please attribute it. (I'm not sure you did that.. just fyi.)
check the whole conversation, just 3-4 lines... to lazy to repeat them again...
Ah.. So they both have chat accounts then?
