9:15 PM
Anyone here take TREEHOUSE courses?

heard of them, never used them. Why do you ask @Hizqeel?
@Hizqeel if you want to learn web programming/design I recommend taking a loot at freecodecamp.com

A Teacher of Treehouse passed away few hours back.. may be anyone heard of him Jason Seifer a very brilliant and Intelligent person
@Seth Thank you for the link I already know about that :)

@Hizqeel oh my, that's very sad.

yes it was :( he was too young

If professors could stop assigning homework for crap that we didn't cover in class that'd be great
literally, we will be covering chapter 6 today. and homework for chapter 6 is also due today

cc @Seth, see above.
I flagged the answer as rude/abusive for his last revision and rolled it back, but we should keep an eye on it.
Also cc @ThomasWard in case he's awake.
And he deleted his own answer.. sigh

why does that name sounds familiar..

Let me look, you are right.
Now that I think about it, I could have sworn I've seen him somewhere else.

rather common names, doesn't necessarily mean anything.

No, but I remember a similar user too...
Might be a different user with a similar name, though.
either way, i think that question is a candidate for deletion, Seth.
It's attracting a lot of negative attention from OP
If someone sane wants to ask that question, they're more than welcome to.
actually, @Seth, it might be a good idea to escalate that user to the CMs.
This is cross-site behavior, see here.
Of course, this might just also me being draconian with moderation and user management, but it's worth looking into.

10:36 PM
@NathanOsman Well, it was actually pretty simple. In the code for looping through the array, there was an else block that increments y if x is equal to image.length(). But, the code for actually setting the bit was in the if block above it. So basically, whenever it needed to go to the next row, there was only a 50% chance that the bit would be correct already and it wouldn't be a problem. But the other 50% of the time, the bit would need to be a 1, but the code to set it was never called.

accidentally squishes @KazWolfe into a small box
ooops

@ThomasWard Good job. I hope you like scrubbing Kaz goop off the floor.

@AndroidDev Ah, interesting.

@KazWolfe the box is bigger on the inside.

@ThomasWard Good job. I hope you like scrubbing Kaz goop out of the fabric of time and space.

10:42 PM
so I just had to compress your inter-atomic spaces to fit you in the door, and there's technology for that. You're otherwise OK now but stuck inside the box.
yawns

so i'm now trapped in an interdimensional box?
Cool. Thanks for giving me access to the internal fabric of the universe. Now you can't stop me, even if you tried. As long as I keep some of myself embedded within spacetime, I can jump back into the ethereal void at any time. Also, there's a lot of energy out here. >:D
So, thanks to @ThomasWard, I am now outside of the confines of time and space and am no longer limited to "now". I am everywhere and nowhere. I am in the future and the past. Godmode enabled.
By the way, I just got back from TRAPPIST-1. Thought I'd give use to the power Thomas has granted me. We're not alone.

11:08 PM
@Seth @KazWolfe so i looked at that question with abusive content. The guy posted like 3 NAA on the same topic, one of which with cursing. Probably familiar name because he was flagged couple days ago on 30th
That guy needs a ban and pronto

Android is doing something weird here...

no, that's just android.

Why is the text white?

what text?

See the arrow.

11:12 PM
yes

It's very hard to see the text.

um, some sort of theme default maybe ?

But it happened on a 4.2 VM and a 6.0 VM.
It doesn't happen on my actual phone though (7.1).

MWE/MCV/whatever the acronym is pls

MVE?

11:14 PM
edited

Ah.
Let me pull out some code here...

MCVE. That's the one.

gosh I'm tired of this whole university thing

@NathanOsman check discord

11:24 PM
@KazWolfe one sec...

@KazWolfe Well considering your box now is nonexistence :P
returns to mail server stuffs

11:37 PM
Well that was fun.
Kaz Wolf and I thought we found a way to inject arbitrary code into a chat message. Turns out my UserScript had a, uhm, er, bug.

>:(
on that note, if you're using sechat, i'd disable it.

I'll get it fixed soon enough.
Probably within the next 10-20 minutes.

don't use it until then.
It is an ACE vuln, so... yeah

...and it is now fixed.
Everything is deployed.
All you need to do is refresh.

@ThomasWard Hmm.... so,
I think I just found your hard drive. Should I keep flipping bits to prevent your mail server from working?

11:49 PM
@KazWolfe wrong drive :P
you're working with the honeypot ;P

Put incriminating evidence on it and call the FBI :p

hmm. let's take a look then....

watches the fifty thousand infections reverse-attack and breach @KazWolfe's computer

Oh. OH. OH MY GOD WHY NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE I'M GETTING THE FSCK OUT OF HERE
THOMAS, YOU NEED COUNSELING, LIKE THREE YEARS AGO
*goes to rock in the corner post severe mental scarring*

don't forget to pull terdon on your computer :p

11:52 PM
ok... to everyone else here. never look into thomas's encrypted hard drive.
you will not recover. Ever.

walks into room.
wat did I walk in on

Hey Seth was just thinking how you were just as nice as Terdon.
Does Apple have Bash? If so what's it called? Mac Bash?

@Seth tl;dr. thomas threw me into a box that's "bigger on the inside", i escaped into the fabric of the universe, and looked into thomas' secret hard drive. i am now scarred for life.

@WinEunuuchs2Unix macOS has Bash.

but, also some of it was very... fascinating ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

11:55 PM
i'm seriously afraid i'm gonna have to drop classes again

@ThomasWard, while I don't agree with all of your picks, some of them are just... 10/10

@NathanOsman Good I assumed Mac had Bash... I just wrote that into my question justifying project scope of bash only, no perl, no python, no c in the GUI.

mac does not have zenity

And no python by default. Only perl

Will my bash programs run on Mac and Windows I wonder...hmmm

11:57 PM
We will be starting some maintenance one one of our core switches to replace a faulty module in about 10 mins. No user impact is expected

if it's pure bash, yes.

It's pure Ubuntu I guess???

if it gets out of pure bash into other commands, maybe for mac, probably not for windows.

I'll have to lobby Tim Cook and Steve Ballmer (sp?) to put yad support into their bash

not happening.

11:59 PM
what my lobbying or their acquiescence?

┌─[16:59:10]─[kazwolfe@firewolf]
└──> ~ % yad
zsh: command not found: yad

You're probably right I'm too lazy to lobby.

Also, yad isn't even builtin to ubuntu.

zenity is built in... I thought yad was too? I don't remember installing it.
