i was just skipping posts, it stalled on the 3rd one or second one

huh
that's interesting

They're behind CloudFlare, but I have the direct IP
anyone wanna DDoS? :p

Besides getting us into murky legal waters, what else would that accomplish?

4:26 AM
@NathanOsman lolz

Registrant Organization: Domains By Proxy, LLC
nice company name

@edwinksl it's cloudflare

CloudFlare doesn't register domain names.... do they?

@NathanOsman they hide the origin IP

That's got nothing to do with private WHOIS listings.
That is taken care of by the registrar.
CloudFlare just proxies the traffic.

4:27 AM
oh hmm
whois.net found nothing for me on that one

Domains by Proxy (DBP) is an Internet company owned by GoDaddy founder Bob Parsons.

They probably have a private listing.

@NathanOsman well both spams seem to have the same exact source-blocking script

Source blocking... huh?

they block right click, block ctrl+u

4:29 AM
probably using the same "SEO pack"?
<!-- All in One SEO Pack 2.3.9.1 by Michael Torbert of Semper Fi Web Design[299,395] -->

Do they block Ctrl+Shift+C?
That should still work.

uh
they do

Wait, wut.
DUDE.
The Chrome team shall hear about this.

it's just key intercepts

No idea why a page should be able to register hooks for those key combinations.

4:31 AM
But F12 still works! xD

Heh.
Tools -> View Source
Duh. That was easy.

@Zacharee1 Thank you for finding that on the askubuntu.com/q/816535/231142 question. I have had better success from the drivers ppa, which is seems that OP didn't try.

@NathanOsman or view-source:url

Of course, if all else fails, I could always use a tool (like REST Easy, hehe) to view the raw HTTP request.

@Terrance well it's my Q&A :p
@NathanOsman u haxor

4:32 AM
if (key == 97 || key == 65 || key == 67 || key == 99 || key == 88 || key == 120 || key == 26 || key == 85  || key == 86 || key == 83 || key == 43)

          show_wpcp_message('You are not allowed to copy content or view source');
          return false;
     }

@Zacharee1 Good job! =)

@NathanOsman lotta keys, but no F12
@Terrance He also didn't try turning Secure Boot off, which seems to be the fix for login loops
somehow

@Zacharee1 I have heard that before. Does the linked answer suggest that?

That is so stupid.

not mine, but about three others do @Terrance

4:34 AM
@Zacharee1 Cool! Good to know. =)
@Zacharee1 Awww, I already upvoted your answer a while ago. =)

darn
:p

:D

ooh 1786 till 10k

Nice!

Wonder if I can reach it before I start school

4:36 AM
I am going to delete my answer there. Your answer covers it quite well. =)

muahahaha :p

Cloning the Linux kernel Git repository fetches about 800 MB worth of stuff.
That was actually... smaller than I expected.

@NathanOsman fun fun fun

Do it! Go for it! Then you can have bragging rights at school about it.

@Terrance yeah, that's a good thing to brag about :p

4:37 AM
;)
Hey, someone's gotta do it!

"Hey, I have 10k rep. on this website you've never heard of about an operating system you've never heard about."

I brag at work, but I don't think anyone cares.

"Oh yeah, you know that site, AskUbuntu? Well I'll have you know I reached 10k rep right before we started school. I know right? Pretty cool."
@NathanOsman Yup

@Zacharee1 what if second purge happens

@edwinksl Then we purge Shog
sudo dpkg -p shog9
@NathanOsman To be fair though, a lot of people in my dorm are getting interested in custom Android stuff and Linux

4:38 AM
surely he has a script to see who talks bad about him in chat...

a lot of them have MacBooks :p

@Zacharee1 Android is most definitely not Ubuntu.

@edwinksl probably, but he can't do anything about it
@NathanOsman no, but it's Linux. We're getting there

I might have to go find a question to jog my brain around while I am waiting for my son to get off work tonight. He really needs to get his license and drive himself. :P

@Zacharee1 Not for long.
Google's hard at work on their own OS now.
I predict Android will adopt it within the next five years.

4:39 AM
@Zacharee1 oh as in overpriced laptops with shit intel GPUs and almost no usb ports

BUT THAT THUNDERBOLT THO.

@NathanOsman YASSS
@NathanOsman I'm interested to see how that'll turn out: Google Glass or Chrome OS

I love that the ports double as DisplayLink.

@NathanOsman and everything else, as long as you have a $70 adapter for each function

Chrome => Chrome OS
OS X => macOS
I'm noticing a trend here...

4:41 AM
wut

@Zacharee1 $10 on Amazon.

o_O
Not official Apple, though, are they?

Hey, I think my Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter I bought for work ran me $40

No, of course not. Still works fine though.

Mine was official

4:42 AM
It's a Thunderbolt/DisplayLink to DVI adapter.

wth is WebGL and why is Chrome hitting snags on it?
and why is Apple going back to the 90s with its branding?

WebGL is an implementation of OpenGL/EGL/whatever-it-is-these-days for the browser.

If we see a return of the rainbow Apple, I might just switch :p
@NathanOsman well it dies on the Sierra page

Over my years of repair work, Apple was by far one of the worst to repair.

4:46 AM
@Terrance now try to open a Note 7

i wanted to save for a mini mac this year. . . .I'd love to make open source apps for it

@Zacharee1 Heat gun and a nylon pic

buuuuut sh! t happened

@Terrance That's what @RPiAwesomeness keeps saying.

@Terrance doesn't work well. Since it's IP68, everything is sealed tight
@Serg make apps for OS X? Yeah, no

4:48 AM
Actually a lot of the repairs were the worst because of the corporate garbage Apple put us through.

Pay them $99 for the privilege of having your app installable
@Terrance like what

Dude, this says it all:
"Don't leave a macbook in the armchair."

that looks painful

@Zacharee1 First, getting parts was a joke, but in the beginning I was able to get the parts over-nighted to me without issues. Then they decided to keep us certified, but we had to ship the units in for repairs that added on 3 days to the repair process.

o_O

4:50 AM
Boy did their customers start going livid about that and take it out on us.
Plus, they lie about their products.
The Power Mac G4 Cube is a small form factor Macintosh personal computer from Apple Inc., sold between 2000 and 2001. Designed by Jonathan Ive, its cube shape is reminiscent of the NeXTcube from NeXT, acquired by Apple in 1996. The New York Museum of Modern Art holds a G4 Cube, along with its distinctive Harman Kardon transparent speakers, as part of its collection. == Features == The small 7×7×7 in (18×18×18 cm) cube, suspended in a 7.65×7.65×10 in (19.4×19.4×25.4 cm) acrylic glass enclosure, housed a PowerPC G4 processor running at 450 or 500 MHz, and had a unique, slot-loading, low-profile DVD...

oh god
that thing

Now, find me an AGP Port on this motherboard
Why say it has AGP, when it doesn't exist on the board?

AGP - so 2005.

I understand that, but that is what they advertised them as. This was after Steve Jobs took back over.
The G4 Cube was a complete piece of garbage. The case was better used as a waste basket.

@Terrance like the Mac Pro
it literally is a trashcan

4:54 AM
Why advertise OS X as "Runs UNIX, doesn't crash!"?
@Zacharee1 Agreed!
I had customers literally bring me the sign from our Apple section and point that line out to me and complain when their system crashed.

lol

Always the price they paid for the system was brought up whenever they brought it in for repairs. Like that ever helped them get the repairs done faster.

So, forgive me for not liking the Apple company, but I think I earned it from putting up with their crap for 9 years.

@Terrance can't you see it with 10k rep?
@Terrance oh, and the AGP slot appears to be on some sort of insert

I only have 6K

oh

@Zacharee1 Yes, but it was AGP adapted to PCI. 64bit to 32bit adapter

5:01 AM
O_O
so it is
It's a card plugged into the PCI port...
yeesh

Actually, the AGP 2x was only 32bit, but AGP was supposed to have direct access to the CPU, where PCI was shared with other devices as well.

@Zacharee1 y u repost

Why not do both?

#zach_joke

@Serg #saysserg

yeah, i could do both, but . . . kinda don't wanna

@Zacharee1 meeeeeeeeeh
I'll do it later

:p

I actually use the icanhazip.com in one of my scripts.

it exists!

5:27 AM
what exists

icanhazip.com

Before I started using no-ip.com for my DDNS, I used icanhazip.com to get my external IP and text and email it to me.

yeah, it does. It's one of free services that check your IP. I used to use OpenDNS one though

yay another vote on my Meta.se Q

that was me

5:29 AM
@Terrance I use ChangeIP now, because it still supports my router
@Serg wai so laet

@Zacharee1 Cool! DD-WRT Router?

no, normal Cisco stuff

Ah

or is it Linksys...
but it's dual WAN, so No-IP doesn't work so well
@Serg So it's just a 30x redir?

5:31 AM
I have a Linksys WRT1900AC, and that service you said is not listed. =(

yeah

@Zacharee1 no , it's two separate sites

@Zacharee1 reproducible in SO btw. also there is no need to switch tab

Since No-IP doesn't work anymore, I looked at the list of services the router liked. Some Chinese thing before finding ChangeIP @Terrance
@Serg weird

@Zacharee1 It does support Custom though. Does ChangeIP expire?

5:32 AM
@Terrance I don't think so

no-ip does in about 30 days. So I just simply click renew.

yes ? @Rinzwind

would it be possible to make it changeable with keycombo?
or gestures?
and/or make it switch when you have more than 1 workspace?
hmm he started to ignore me or got so excited he started coding it? :=)

em . . . keycombo - maybe. Never done anything with gestures , so I don't know about that. The setup is basically such that it reads a settings file, where all the lists are stored. I could make some kind of script that loops over the items in file . . .More than one workspace . . . maybe. I avoided making it "per workspace" initially, because Jacob has script for that already @Rinzwind

so? nothing wrong with having 2 scripts do the same >:-D

7:05 AM
I didn't know you are Unity user as well, Rinz.

it is not the script that matters! it is the road to making the script that matters!

@Serg is there anything else? :-P

Well . . . I'll see what I can do about it. I'll probably either have to add another menuentry to it, or a command-line option.

Can anyone suggest why I can't set a shortcut with an xdotool command ?

@Zanna you might want to rewrite it as bash -c 'DISPLAY=:0.1 xdotool . . . .'
what's the original commando ?

@Zanna experience? >:-D
(or lack of :D)

7:11 AM
hehe, that answers part of why ^

xdotool key whatever
hahaha

@Zanna OK , try rewriting it with bash as i suggested. make sure you check DISPLAY variable first

xdotool getactivewindow key Home works from keybindings

or that ^
i think that's what i use in some of mine . . .
bash -c "xdotool getactivewindow key Page_Down"

3 more:xdotool getactivewindow key End
xdotool getactivewindow key Page_Up
xdotool getactivewindow key Page_Down
@Serg you go back to scripting my demands and stop copying my answers before I can post them. got that? :D
if that didn't get coffee over your screen I do not get what will :+D

7:14 AM
@Rinzwind oh,jeez, yessir, sorry sir .. . . . . .@_@

@Zanna might I ask a stupid question?

. . .anybody on dual screen right now ?

you did install xdotool? >:-D

@Rinzwind question closed as off-topic

no dual screen here. I use synergy with 2 systems

7:16 AM
I tried setting DISPLAY before because that worked for the screenshot thing, but didn't work for this... adding getactiivewindow doesn't do it either

Mkay . . .well . . .still do help me out guys . . .I need to test something . .. one second

did I install xdotool? well the command works magically in the terminal for some reason :p

@Zanna yeah well if you had not that would make it not work :=)

Can you guys run xrandr first, then this (like python3 list_resolutions.py) : gist.github.com/SergKolo/fda81cd7c04606d82d9c1de92209d441
I just wanna know if that prints all resolutions for connected display exactly like xrandr does
Thanks in advance

works for me @Serg

you wanna see exact output?

@Serg mine works

@Rinzwind true hahaha

@Rinzwind I selected it at random.

then it would just be a matter of getting it there >:-D
