Notice of Data Breach
You may have heard reports recently about a security incident involving Myspace. We would like to make sure you have the facts about what happened, what information was involved and the steps we are taking to protect your information.

What Happened?
Shortly before the Memorial Day weekend, we became aware that stolen Myspace user login data was being made available in an online hacker forum. The data stolen included user login data from a portion of accounts that were created prior to June 11, 2013 on the old Myspace platform.

of course , it was from Pilot, heh @Zacharee1

No, he leaves comments

Now it has 3 "answers"

Soo many NAAs @chaskes

1:51 AM
@Zacharee1 These Q&A's just become physically painful to watch after a while.

of course this is one of the answerers askubuntu.com/users/307523/wineunuuchs2unix
@chaskes agreed

Why is kvm slower than qemu-system-i386?
warning: host doesn't support requested feature: CPUID.01H:ECX.vmx [bit 5]
Ah.

@NathanOsman because computers
how do you not realize that by now?

i have found some kind of interview confirmation email for vector, and i have no recollection of ever applying there
OOOOOOhhhh
i remember, those guys

lol
so you had a job opportunity, but lost it because you ignore your email?
@NathanOsman I like how you said this right after askubuntu.com/questions/816039/kvm-high-cpu-host-crash

1:56 AM
No, those were " Work for Students " guys, basically telemarketers. Call people phones and sell shiz
i bailed after the interview

@Serg ooh fun :p
@NathanOsman looking

I am down to 1.8 k of emails, by the way

@NathanOsman

@NathanOsman wow, that's really in-depth
@chaskes do you have an HerD version?

1:58 AM
yeah, but I was afraid to post it here. hang on
@Zacharee1 It's not that far from you. Rehoboth Beach.

ooh
Why are you in DE?

image saved, gonna make a nice phone wallpaper

@Serg unless you have AMOLED

wut?

darker colors work well on OLED because there's no backlight
"Yuge" battery saver

2:03 AM
@Zacharee1 Well, I was when I took the pic. I'm the DC area.
@SergThanks. It's my phone wallpaper now

@chaskes wat doin
@Serg looks nice
imma stick with my flower though :p

@serg. Cool

i like it

@Zacharee1 Well, I'm a little bit older than you

2:04 AM
so calming

Alright, time for some fun.

uhoh

@Serg Thx, it was the best one I got.

@NathanOsman BAN TIME?

@NathanOsman Did you see the pic I posted?

2:05 AM
@chaskes Yes, it's very nice.

@NathanOsman It's about 3 hrs from where I live, though. Still, I have to admit from seeing so many of your pics, after I took it I thought, Well, maybe this one can compete with the Pacific Northwest. :)

For sure - you have an excellent shot there.

with android app and chrome apps only available on Chrome OS and not chrome browser..looks like Google wants everyone to switch to chrome os

thx :)

can dragonflies be poisonous or dangerous in any way?

2:08 AM
@CodeX No thank you.
@Serg Not that I know of.
They're pretty much harmless.

@Serg THEYLL EAT YOU ALIVEEE

my cat just caught one

ALIIIIVEEE
@Serg nope, not poisonous AFAIK

Rolls eyes...

Did the cat eat it alive?

2:09 AM
probably taste gross
@chaskes fake irony

i don't know if i should kill it or let the cat play

@Serg let the cat play
I don't think dragonflies have much sentience

I think he's right. I believe I read it does run kylin

looks like normal ubuntu to me

2:13 AM
@CodeX it is sort of like normal Ubuntu , but it comes with software for chinese users

it's got a chinese calendar, wps office, fcitx, and a few other changes.

@Serg so no World's fastest supercomputer thing

According to wikip, it runs Sunway RaiseOS 2.0.5. But it's based on LInux, and I'm still pretty sure I read that the linux it's based on is kylin.

@chaskes Yeah, but it's better for Skeptics. I answered anyway
0
A: Kylin Ubuntu in Tianhe 2

Zacharee1Well, I don't think any of us are part of the 1,300-scientist team that made the computer, nor are we part of the Chinese government, but according to Softpedia, yes, Tianhe-2 runs Ubuntu Kylin. Honestly, this part of your question could be better asked on Skeptics. BUT PLEASE, PLEASE, read their...

cool

2:21 AM
"Canonical (Ubuntu's parent company) decided to work with the Chinese government " so maybe Kylin comes with a back door

@CodeX probably would have been found by now

@Serg I did not know Kylin Linux is not the same as Ubuntu Kylin.

@Serg I saw. But that would mean that Softpedia is dead wrong.

2:28 AM
@Zacharee1 Softpedia is dead wrong . . .

@Serg OK, so here's the thing I think. It's unclear if it runs Kylin or Ubuntu Kylin, but it does apparently run Ubuntu Server, Openstack and Juju unixmen.com/ubuntu-powers-worlds-fastest-computer

@Serg I was wondering if it was for EEE PCs
then I went to the site, yep

Now that looks very interesting. I could use a good netbook os

@chaskes LEEENUX

2:32 AM
I need to try it. It's not only for eee

LEEEEEEEEEEEENUX
I think at some point the eee was the generic netbook.

@JourneymanGeek I had one, hated it
very very very limited
I don't even know what it ran, but I think it had apt-get

leeenux requires $9

Lol. First gen tends to suck.

@chaskes AYE MATEY

2:35 AM
I think my friend has an Acer I upgraded to unr ....
And that was third/forth gen.

EEE 900 series
Aren't EEE Asus?

Atom or celery?

901 it looks like so I guess Atom
wait, it might have been in the 1000 series
ihni

there is literally shiz ton of other words that are more relevant to spam, and our site is only concerned about According ?
WHAT THE ACTUAL F****
Aaand it wont let me save the edit now

O_O
What's this for?
I've used according AFAIK

2:42 AM
@Seth @dino @terdon excuse me, WTF ^

lol
@Serg's a spambot
@Serg put your edited version here
let's see if I can save it

@Serg I'd bet SE made some changes that accidentally went a bit overboard.
Not the first time it has happened.

@Seth juuuust a tad

Should I take this to meta ?

You can.

2:50 AM
already have

Q: Please fix the spam detection

SergToday , I was editing a question and apparently there were some new changes in place for spam detection. Definitely good news . . . except that spam detection is broken: Out of all the words that there are for spam, the system latched onto "According" and "Wikipedia". IMHO it is overboard and...

Should probably put it on Meta.se
There should at least be a rep cap though, if it stays
I think 30k is enough to be trusted :p

Unless it's a really patient spammers

@Serg is bot comfirm

@Zacharee1 added that into my post

3:04 AM
@Serg is it fixed yet?

lol
@Seth can you edit those words in?
because if mods can't then something is wrong

@Seth nope, I just added According back into my post, and it showed the message agan

@Zacharee1 I'm on mobile :p

@Seth Are we there yet??

Well if 'there' is the living room then yes.

3:20 AM
hello
@KazWolfe Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately I got the ISO from the official Ubuntu website (ucmirror.cantabury.co.nz) and the hash is correct and there are no memory errors (MemTest).

@ƎpᴉʇʎXD comment under original post

3:48 AM
down to 1.3k emails . . .heck yea

Hi
Someone summoned me?

I summoned you
I recieved your answer
How do I do the thingy in windows? md5sum /path/to/the/ubuntu.iso

Just saying I've had a lot of bad USBs.
Some brand new out of the box.
MD5SUM has a Windows program equivalent

4:03 AM
ask mr google?

Yep

k
ah, i found it
one hash is incorrect

53 emails !!! I am down from 11k to 53

@KazWolfe it works now, you may now have the tick

So, it was the hash? Huh.

4:07 AM
Seems like it

Honestly was betting on a USB error

it was the correct hash but there was surprisingly +10 hashes extra

But, one more problem solved.
Wait what? Did you do the entire folder?

no the entire iso

Output please?

4:10 AM
I just closed it
But i remember

Never mind lol. Glad it works now though

c94d54942a2954cf852884d656224186 and f941d56h67
And you can have the sweet bounty
Now everyone's happy

:D
Well if Jorge awards it. Really up to him

I owe him man

When you get to the 5k mark, put up a +200 on a random question
That's, what, one day of relatively hard work?

4:13 AM
lol

5k isn't that bad if you put in some decent work

5k is somewhat difficult for me, because i don't get 200 per day , and rarely it's easy
I am barely regaining the reputation i lost during the great purge this summer

Oh yeah, you were one of the decimated ones...
Did anybody bother explaining why?

@KazWolfe basically , it's kind of "not welcome" on the network to have serial voting for two people. Well, typically there's groups of users who answer the same questions or watch each other's posts. That kind of included me, Fabby, AB, netbox, kos, and a few others. So in the end we all got nuked. Oh, And Javob Vlijm . . .
So, our supreme mod ( whose name I won't name ) ran a script that found basically users who frequently voted for each other and just reversed their votes or accepted posts
Ha, vk totally switched to mimic facebook . . . .again . . . .

So you had an illegal voting ring.
Wtf

4:25 AM
According to how mods view it - yeah. My definition is "supporting users who produce quality answers"

no one flagging tonight? that's depressing

SETH <3
Hi!

time for psx fearful harmoney

@Serg So I'm happy I wasn't caught. Because I think I got in this voting ring by accident lol

Lets just say it was more complicated than that.

4:29 AM
Oh god. Wait, I thought only the system could see votes?

Some people have DB access (i.e., SE employees)
That should tell you, if they were looking at the DB, it was bad.

But why would SE be mad about cross voting? Doesn't their system catch the worst?

I'll get in trouble if I say any more. I refer you back to the meta posts.

So with this in mind, it was a network wide milking problem that caused them to purge everything? So legit votes like I guess the guys here were really more casualties.

Also: I saw one of those new Tesla Model Ses with the new grill. Pretty slick looking.

4:32 AM
Damnit Seth stop making me want to get in positions of power just for intel.

Power is an illusion.

But intel isnt
I don't think it matters where he discusses secrets. NDAs are pesky

pretty much that ^
tho there is no actual NDA, other than for PII.

So there is actual legal stuff for mods? TIL

@KazWolfe I guess?

4:37 AM
Huh. Still can't decide if I should try or not
Resolve ALL the flags!

YASSS. I WOULD USE THAT SO MUCH
(timestamped link)

Alt-Tab?

basically

Apple had it two years in the future
And will sue Android over it

Q: nfs nested mounts fail on client side

BetlogI'm sharing a folder with NFS that contains other fstab mounted drives, and client side nfs fails to traverse only the deepest mount. ie: /home/user/pictures Is a regular directory, which contains /camera1 /home/user/pictures/camera1 is a GPT formatted 3TiB drive and mounted normally as ext4 in...

4:52 AM
@Zacharee1 LG V20 coming very soon, apparently.

5:11 AM
Argh. Nobody is selling the T6 body separately. They only sell it with a 18-55mm lens.

T6 now?
Niceee.

Well... okay, so what happened is that I realized the T5 doesn't support shutter remotes.
(Well, it has a proprietary plug for wired ones, but that doesn't count.)

Sigh . . . over years i've followed 135 communities on vk . . . cleaning up all that now . . . .

@NathanOsman wait wut?!
are you sure?!

@Seth Positive. The only way is to get a wired remote.

5:20 AM
@NathanOsman well that's lame.

Which is why I decided to move up a notch.

admitedly i misfired there, but i dont think the water is proper english, duolinguo

I managed to corrupt windows by mistake
that's why backups are important, peeps

@Serg Which app is that?
@ƎpᴉʇʎXD Indeed.

@NathanOsman I see your blog post in the star tabs, i wondered if debian 8 works on qemu :P

5:34 AM
The recent versions work fine.
They will be slow unless you use KVM.

I see

But they should work fine.
@SmokeDetector O_o

DREAM AST
Sorry I'm corrupting Dreamcast right now
WTH Trec~~CAST???

@Zanna Did you see my blog article?

\o Hi, Zanna

6:08 AM
evening @Serg ^.^

@Serg I finally figured out how to quit vi! First you type ":sh", then you type "ps aux | grep vi", then you type "kill -9 PID" (where PID is the number from the last step), and voilà - vi is gone!
</troll>

@NathanOsman now I saw it, great article
hahahaha

Thanks.

or you could just hold down the power button for a really long time

Hey! That works too.

6:12 AM

Not that I know of.
I did discover this website: asciinema.org

Nifty little app for recording commands in a terminal.

How did I know someone would do this: asciinema.org/a/50301

6:31 AM
@Zanna you missed me going from 11k emails to 35

I'm much more interested in learning Ubuntu-fu

6:46 AM
@Serg It's Outlook now.

Welp, my address still has @ hotmail there

Mine too. They didn't change the domain for legacy addresses.

Sure we did not
We killed hotmail for a reason, ok?!?

silence. I KEEL YOU

your question got answered @ƎpᴉʇʎXD
