00:00 - 21:0021:00 - 00:00

9:00 PM
If I use Thunderbird, could another user access to my info?

@Lucio interesting question, hopefully it stores your stuff in the home folder of your user, then someone else logging in would have different login's and settings completely

The home folder can be acceded by other users but the .thunderbird folder not :D

"info"?

@Braiam .thunderbird folder

you mean the $HOME

9:07 PM
yep
@Mateo You have signed the U. code of conduct, right?

yeah, why?

Where did you keep your keys?
'cause I can't remember mines xD

On my keychain, usually in my pocket - sometimes on the table when I come in the front door.

let me look at the bold...
no, they aren't in the bold! :P
I have created an OpenPGP key but I have no idea where did I stored them

@Lucio oh, computer keys?

9:12 PM
Where are they normally stored?
@Mateo right

@Lucio inside the gpg keyring for the user usually....
gpg --list-secret-keys usually will tell you the key ID and stuff

@ThomasW. let me past you the output...

well... it'll show keys for which you have the privkey for
stop italics.
then all will be fine

hahaha

but yes the output is good :P
@Lucio what do you actually want though, an exported copy of the key in one file?
because it'll be in the keyring, not the individual key file, until you export it

9:15 PM
@ThomasW. I want to use my actual key for other stuffs

this doesn't answer my question

@ThomasW. it give me nothing :(

and what other "stuff"
and what gave you nothing

encrypt mail

o/

9:16 PM
@ThomasW. the only command that you gave me
gpg --list-secret-keys

@Lucio create and import another...

and you actually created a key?

and this one set an expiration date...

because if you used seahorse and it said it did but its not in gpg --list-secret-keys then thats a bug
and yes you should set expirys on your keys

(has one key that doesn't remember where it's and will be valid from here until eternity)
(yeah, I'm using a AU link to point to a bug)

9:17 PM
@Braiam i have several keys like that. they're all old GPG keys I can't delete because old PPAs
@Braiam what heresy is this?
@Braiam different bug

@ThomasW. no close votes :P

@ThomasW. before upgrade Ubuntu yes

importing a key != using seahorse to create the key
@Lucio create a new key then
because if the update nuked your gpg keyring you're screwed
easiest thing is to make a new key

yeah, that would be better

unless you have your old one backed up somewhere to try and import
in which case you can use gpg command line to import, but...

9:19 PM
@ThomasW. no really

2 days ago, by Thomas W.
ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR STUFF.

one more thing
Launchpad still show me this;

@Lucio remove the old key... you have lost it...
if you had created a revocation certificated you should use it

9:21 PM
@Braiam the bold!
oh virtually, right

but again... you didn't

@Braiam yes that.
@Braiam it will still exist in the sks keyserver they don't remove those

What is the SSH keys on launchpad?
is it related?

...

so you can use bazaar..

9:22 PM
do you SERIOUSLY not know what SSH keys are
@Braiam and dput via sftp
(for PPAs)

plenty of people don't know what ssh keys are

brz + ssh or dput over sftp

@JorgeCastro but Lucio's been around a bit, you'd think someone like that would know what SSH keys are
newbies wouldn't, people who have been here a while should

there's also git + ssh... http over ssh...

@Braiam but ultimately for LP, it's for bzr and dput

9:24 PM
@ThomasW. still a typo...
kill your keyboard!

can i set your computer on fire instead?

@kalina did :(

then can i burn the ashes?

dunnow...

@ThomasW. haha I'd totally forget who did I did that stuff

9:25 PM
burning ashes is toxic D:

@Braiam burning ashes in an underground bunker isn't, if its done remotely

and no idea how to recover all this stuff

@Lucio by backing things up in the first place.
:P

haha yeah
but I was a silly boy then :)

we all were silly boyes then...
anyone see any logic behind ?

9:28 PM
yes, a long time ago we were all little silly peoples.
@Braiam is it a program specific tag with a very few questions and little activity?
if so then we follow the "We don't need a tag for every program" line of thinking
which is truth
and has been upheld in meta many times
if its hardware then it depends

read the darn tag wiki!
>

Intel's third generation Atom CPU (nicknamed CedarView).

@Braiam but i'm on my phone, it's too hard to read the tag wiki

get rid of your phone and get a phablet!

@ThomasW. cedarview?

give me money and then maybe.

9:30 PM
Well, I will spend a couple of hours with keys, throwing the old and updating the new

it doesn't take hours

Thank you guys!

it takes 20 minutes :P

@ThomasW. haha not for several services

it takes 15 secs doing stuff... 19 waiting for the server

9:31 PM
yep
cya!
BTW, is cya a way to say bye?
'cause I just get used to it :/

no... cya is c - ya which translates to see - ya -> see - yall or (C)see You All

cya = "see ya!" = "See ya around!"

crap... english is easy /sarcams

9:47 PM
scientific linux isn't ubuntu is it?
because if it's not askubuntu.com/questions/298448/… is OT
(because at the end you can see they say the distribution is scientific linux)

> Scientific Linux (SL) is a Linux distribution produced by Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN).
and got 2 upboats...

@Braiam correction, 3
i downvoted now
and VTC'd it
and flagged it

@ThomasW. and pinged Oli?

@Braiam no, that's your job

10:05 PM
@ThomasW. then what you are supposed to do?
»_»
¬_¬

@Braiam right now, relax and watch anime.
:P

@ThomasW. NOOOOOOO
btw, what are you seeing?

@Mateo wait what? you don't think xlib is in precise? for sure it is: packages.ubuntu.com/precise/python-xlib
anyway, what project with pygi was a webcam grabber? the on in jderose's junk folder that says it's gi is really old pygtk
also, boo. id Tech 5 engine is never coming to open source... shared only internally at Zenimax. I know, I found out late.
o/ @Seth
3 day weekend. can i finish a project a day?

10:41 PM
Oh, I ment the python3-xlib

yeah. i forgot testing on python3. i need to test it. it runs on python2 for sure though

after i asked i parsed for it. it looks remarkably similar to something i already tried, but just a touch different. i'll give it a shot

Maybe it needs to be a be window instead of widget, or expects to be outputting something, not sure but that is a working example once you tell it where the ui file is

it's fine. i'll sort it out. there's a lot of cruft in there about making it pngs. if that's the fix, it's absurd.

@hbdgaf yo

@Braiam not an answer or offensive?

you feel offended?

would not be reasonable for discourse -- or some such
would YOU say that in front of a girl you just met? i hope not.

I'm flagging it as offended to get it deleted faster.
And to restrict his account.

11:11 PM
@Mateo - I'm holding off on the pull request until I try the new video map to drawingarea thing. It'ld be kind of cool to one-shot all five bugs.
A sixth bug could be 'should also run on precise with python2 deps', which sounds doable

Sweet, well if it has to output something, we could throw output /dev/null or something

I don't think it'll need the output. It's just for pinning down the what causes a segfault since you don't get a python stack trace on a segfault

MY FIRST (actually second) SE BUG FIXED! meta.stackoverflow.com/a/211355/213575

11:28 PM
i need a nap...i've been up since like 3 am local. back in a few hours to take a crack at parenting the video to the window and pushing out one project tonight/tomorrow wee early

AU is 408 me...
