@iSeth You should include a readme for those less versed in the web.

jrg
@Flabricorn i gave you a link back in august or june about rails learning, wasn't ruby.railstutorial.org, do you still have the link buried somewhere?

@jrg Um, let me see, where did you send it?

jrg
@Flabricorn would have been to your original gmail.

One moment.

jrg
AH-HA! Found the one i was looking for. bigfatrails.com

10:19 PM
@Flabricorn I could if you want.

jrg
ah crud. still the wrong license. ugh

Ah, I seem unable to locate it myself.

jrg
i might not have sent it (that specific one) to you.

Its probably a good idea...

@jrg I cannot even find that email.

jrg
10:21 PM
@Flabricorn ok, maybe i'm hallucinating.
which might be a possibility. i'm pretty tired.
just search for "from:james gifford" in gmail.

@jrg Or I may have trashed it a while ago, I have no memory for these things anyway.

jrg
anyway, i found what i was looking for, and it's still the wrong license.

How so?

jrg
it's CC-NC-BY-SA.
i need something that doesn't have the Non-Commercial part.
since i'm sick of reinventing the wheel.

Ah.

jrg
10:24 PM
for the you-know-what project.

Mmmm.

jrg
anyway, bbiab.

Enjoy yourself I may leave for the day.

@Flabricorn do you mean instructions for installing it or customizing it?

@iSeth Installation, however I realized that may be unnecessary since if you're in this room, you use linux, and therefore can figure it out.

10:29 PM
true. I made it compatible with all of SE though, so maybe I should anyway.
or at least link to a site that has good instructions

Wouldn't hurt I guess.

did you need any help personally?

No, personally I'm fine.
Thank you though.

jrg
Ok, I understand the point of the NC part of the CC stuff, but this is just insane.
2
NOBODY LICENSES ANYTHING WITHOUT THE NC. EVER.

@Flabricorn OK. Just making sure :)

10:34 PM
I do have to leave for the day now, goodbye everyone.

@jrg that's because its all about the money
See ya @Flabricorn

jrg
except people do their code under the MIT, BSD and GPL ALL THE TIME.
but as soon as it isn't code, suddenly they want to make money off of it. wat

jrg
heh

errg. Windows just loves connecting to my neighbors really slow wifi.

jrg
10:40 PM
fine, make money off of me, i don't care. i'll do CC0 if i have to. grrrr.
@Flabricorn: I just wrote company policy #2: Anything we write will be a creative commons that allows remixes and commercial use.
#1 is we can't die on the job.

Someone needs to reinvent the wheel and make it free
oh, I see #2 now

jrg
i just found our first team project. :P

jrg
who wants to guess what page of google i'm on?

books
patents

jrg
10:46 PM
no, search results.

Klingon translator
> A “low end” Ubuntu Phone will require, at a minimum:

Dual-core A9 ARM Processor
1GB of RAM
4GB Flash Storage + SD
800×400 WVGA Screen
Multi-touch

jrg
that's not bad.

call that low end?
face palm

jrg
ok, so 1GB RAM, 800x400.

most low end android phones have a 1GHz processor and about 700MB RAM

jrg
10:48 PM
reads like a netbook.
(i just reached page 11 of google search results. send help.)

I guess WVGA isn't too bad.
snaps fingers, sends @jrg back to page 1

jrg
reads more like a low end netbook with a really small HDD/SD card.

netbook has 1.6GHz processor
but basically yes.

jrg
no, more like a 1.6GHz, but they also don't boot off a SD card. that evens it out.
ok, so we have a netbook with a small screen. i don't see how this is a problem.

I don't care about SD card, I don't care about screen (if its at least 4")
I want...

jrg
10:51 PM
to be able to make phone calls.

touche :(
you win.

jrg
yes, it's absolutely wonderful i can tweet from my phone, stream a video of a funny cat and somehow still get work done.
but i should be able to actually call people. :P

oh, my dad calls people all the time from his GSIII
I guess its not that important in my case though...
ah well.
