I'm sure he does. I don't think he just makes these decisions on a whim. Especially when you see that he's been grooming the Ubuntu UX for mobile over the past 3+ years

When at installation the Encrypt Home Folder is checked, will the swap file get encrypted and if so, is the encryption based on ephemeral keys?
A key being "ephemeral", does it mean it is redefined every time the OS boots up?

So anyway, everything got settled and me and a bunch of zombies went to a bar and had a couple of drinks. No harm done. Except godzilla, she got angry with her zombie lover. I ain't getting on that problem, too big of a girl for me.
So here is the problem if anybody has had the same issue. I installed like a month or 2 ago Ubuntu 13.04, well updated from 12.10. Everything worked perfect. I mean like everything, even the proprietary nvidia drivers for a 560 ti I have. So time passes by and about lets say 2 weeks ago, hell breaks loose.
After an update and rebooting I can't login. So after trying out basically all the ways of fixing a "Unity/Compiz/Lightdm not working with nvidia card after upgrade" I removed the nvidia driver and the xorg.conf created by it and could now log in back to the desktop. Of course the performance is not the same.
In this scenario am talking about like yesterday when I formatted to 12.10, updated the system up to yesterday BUT without installing any proprietary drivers
Just to test it out, rebooted, login YES, using everything in the desktop YES
installing nvidia drivers and rebooting "CHAOS TIME!"
basically it froze after trying to login to the desktop. So what I did was go to recovery mode, by the way, holding the SHIFT key to make the GRUB menu appear does not always work, specially on fast system, I had to hold the SHIFT key, tap like crazy on ESC key, kick a chair, spit on my ex picture, say a prayer and THEN and only then I had a 30% chance the GRUB menu would appear.
But after going to recovery mode (And changing the option about read only to read/write) and started testing it the system with startx. So I ran startx and there you go, got a "nvidia module not found" thingy. To fix that I installed the header files for the current and general kernel version, well you know since most nvidia questions related to that point to installing that first. After that, there was no module problems, but still did not load. It just went to a black screen
Even the /var/log/Xorg.0.log tells me that when loading, everything is OK but still the system simply freezes when loading
Like @FEichinger says, yeah the drivers are the problem but they worked perfectly, same version 2 weeks ago for at least a month and half.
I even try testintg the X-Swat ppa and xorg edgers
or doing it the normal way without installing any ppa
