Does this look even remotely like a wolf? I have been converting my UnityScript code into C#, and I decided to go ahead and add a new enemy, a Wolf, for the wilderness, but I am unsure if it looks right...
@DukeZhou what do you think?

12:29 AM
@StephaneHockenhull I have had similar problems with my nephew. Hard to do anything when a toddler is pressing random keys for pleasure... :P

7:11 AM
@TheMattbat999 looks like a wolf. only thing odd is the ears. makes it look almost like a large mouse

hi its me, your dad, and im here with a thread for you: All Artists Should Be Working Out of Dropbox (or an equivalent) come with me
(twitter thread pitching the process of working out of cloud storage)

9:22 AM
@TheMattbat999 the forelegs being arched out like that doesn't look very wolflike, and the ears should be triangular but they're rather long instead so look more like a bunny's ears.
Compare with that. ^ Note we can visibly see the torso beneath the head, and the legs come down beneath that. something like that angle might be preferable, it's slightly side-on and gives us a better view of the animal.

@doppelgreener is this better?

@TheMattbat999 that's superb!
I would lower the head a bit if you can find a way to do that (note the head is roughly centered in front of the upper back and not raised above it) but that's quite excellent.

user92578
what is this? art for ants?

user92578
also grey colors on a white background is superb

I'm hoping it won't be on a white background in the game :P

user92578
looks good, maybe a tad too wide

1:20 PM
@doppelgreener at some points, possibly in the snowy chunk of the map.
@Tyyppi_77 no, Art for Games
I think this is good

1:54 PM
@TheMattbat999 First thing I saw when I looked at it was a capital letter M & got excited - please tell me you're working on some dope (almost) ASCII roguelike.

2:12 PM
@Pikalek ehh not really? It is a retro styled open world RPG.
I played Rogue before though
If you ever played it, think The Elder Scrolls: Arena
Or original Doom, but freeroam with swords and axes and crap

2:30 PM
@TheMattbat999 noice
possibly a little wide yeah, wolf legs are beneath the body, they don't come out from it

@doppelgreener I will try to fix this later.

3 hours later…
5:31 PM
@TheMattbat999 Needs an outline for white backgrounds.

@StephaneHockenhull what about always? And for all NPCs? I think it would look nice and clean to have them outlined.

yeah, it doesn't hurt to contrast sprites from background.

2 hours later…
7:45 PM
@TheMattbat999 Looks more friendly and doggish (thinking the mindcraft transformation of wolf to dog after you feed it a bunch of times--the dogs have friendlier eyes)

@DukeZhou does it need red eyes?

The head height, tail and ears say relaxed and friendly.
An alert or excited dog/wolf has it's tail horizontal or higher. If scared it's between the legs.
Dog/wolf in attack mode has ears tucked back.
When in hunt/attack mode the head is not higher than the body.

8:00 PM
@TheMattbat999 red eyes is a very good idea if the wolf in an enemy
if a companion, maybe burning yellow eyes

8:38 PM
Why do people hate Sketchup?

Define "hate"...

Dislike is better

Maybe they don't understand it's for 3D sketching, not God of War AAA 3D modeling ?
I haven't tried it.
I might give it a try for making parts for 3D prints.. I generally use OpenSCAD scripting for simple stuff.
Looks like it's really good at what it's supposed to be doing...

9:19 PM
@DukeZhou yeah it is a baddie. I will change the eyes.
@StephaneHockenhull well, that is the idle frame (what I am using to test on for styling the rest of the frames). While idle it is just chilling, but if it detects the player it will run up to them and start chomping them. Then, if the player gets far enough away, they will give up and back to chilling.

9:32 PM
@Curio idk, I played around it a good bit, but figured out later Unity doesn't support it (well when i tested it. Maybe I didn't import it right?)

I love sketchup, use it for simple 3D prints (kinda). Property Development evals, and level white boxing

10:35 PM
> out_packet.insert(out_packet.end(), game_name.begin(), game_name.end()+1);
Wonderful C++11 weirdness
.end() is not deferenceable for anything EXCEPT for strings.
So if you want the null you have to do end()+1 which is a very "wrong" thing to do (end+1) for everything except std::string.
One part of the language says it's "undefined behaviour" and the other says its very well defined because new C++11 rules on std::string.
