9:00 PM
okay that makes sense i learned java list 4 years ago and now im using c# lists for the first time >.>

if he's used to staring at VB6 then it's possible his head may have just exploded

i was wildly misshired

embrace the LINQ

i took c# one in college we didnt even hit arrays
whixh is why i have 1000s of lines in if statements

you should post some to codereview
for the lolz

9:02 PM
@Himarm Make sure you are getting paid by the line.

i broke down simply cv6 arrays into about 400 lines of ifs. I didnt know c# or vb6 when i got hired. Im finally branchig into lists and arrays eventually ill be hireable
i do a mean sql querry tho...

arrays are ugh.
IEnumerable<>

@KutuluMike It's beautiful

@JackBNimble it took me 1.5 years for something they oroginally thought would take 2 months, but they didnt care to see what i was doing just believed me it was far more complicated then it was
which it was for me but my boss could have done it in a week

@KutuluMike I'd love to have a linq in the language I use

9:06 PM
which?
some of that's built into the framework, but unless it supports extension methods they're a pain to use.
Enumerable.First(Enumerable.Skip(Enumerable.Reverse(source), 1));
ew

One time i took strings out of list concerted them to doubles then converted them into strings
200 different spots

we get it, you suck at your job.

now they started erroring out if thr querry returns nulls
so k had to just delete all those doubles
apperently u cant convert null to double
who knew

@KutuluMike Python and JavaScript
I used to do Java but I've mostly forgotten

Q: Can you use LINQ types and extension methods in IronPython?

tarnIs it possible to use the LINQ types and extension methods in IronPython? If so how? And also is there often more pythonic to do the same thing?

9:12 PM
Python has list comprehensions, and JavaScript is very functional/fluent but it's not quite the same

[2, 3, 4].Where(lambda x: x != 2).ToList().ForEach(System.Console.WriteLine)
I'm falling way behind on my web dev stuff, though.

A: Can you use LINQ types and extension methods in IronPython?

Simon OpeltIn IronPython 2.7.1 you have clr.ImportExtensions for this use case. import clr clr.AddReference("System.Core") import System clr.ImportExtensions(System.Linq) # will print 3 and 4 :) [2, 3, 4].Where(lambda x: x != 2).ToList().ForEach(System.Console.WriteLine) A little background: IronPython ...

I need to learn LESS and CoffeeScript

@KutuluMike same
I don't actually know that much webdev just data manipulation and stuff

@JackBNimble you are a web comic guy, you need to make a webcomic about a programmer that knows he's in a webcomic, and named him Threadpool
in C# on Stack Overflow Chat, 7 mins ago, by Tom W
Please tell me there is a fourth-wall-breaking, spoof programming-themed webcomic called Threadpool.

9:19 PM
@KutuluMike i used CS at my last job. it was so much nicer

@phantom42 computer science or C-Sharp

coffeescript

@KutuluMike so neither
@phantom42 the issue I have that I dislike generated code, and i do a lot in the browser

understandable
i'm doing a lot of reactjs work right now so i just let gulp running in watch mode

@phantom42 no gulp at work
No internet

9:28 PM
i'm developing all local

I'm mostly using angularjs
@phantom42 cool
It just means we can't summon magic code from npm
I was using brackets the other day, that was exciting

not familiar with magic choice
are you doing angular 1 or 2?

9:47 PM
@phantom42 ooops
@phantom42 1.2
I'm implying we can't just install stuff (eg. Magic code like gulp) from the web easily
I'm off
Been fun chatting

welp. that show's toast.
there goes it's budget.
wait, CW renewed all of their existing shows, WTF are they gonna put it?
> At the moment, The CW has 15 hour-long scripted series and 10 hours a week to program, so at least a third of them won’t premiere in the fall.
they renewed 100% of their schedule, acquired Supergirl, and picked up 3 new pilots.

They could always have Supergirl get trapped on Earth-one by the end of the season 2 and then she could just be a supporting character on Flash / Arrow.
The CW needs to acquire all the Glee super heroes it can.

she'll join season 2 of legends
they could get that wheelchair guy to play Oracle

10:33 PM
betting my laptop is too crappy to play the new civ game
probably for the best
behind on enough games and projects already

> Entertainment Weekly has just confirmed that the rumored talks were true, and that Supergirl will in fact be moving to The CW with her cousin TV shows.

I have different link ;p
Anyway i don't know how to react because i am not into sueprgirl but i am in fro arrowverse
Time to leave folks, good night/day/etc
bye o/

fun fact: the Arkansas School for the Deaf's team mascot is a Leopard.

and they got a picture with deaf leopord

11:13 PM
and also with Def Leppard
