@phantom42 I'm disappointed it's being cancelled, but I don't think Agent Carter is a "cult-classic."
That phrase gets thrown around way too much.
Just having some people care about a show doesn't make it a "cult-classic."

12:30 AM
doesnt it take a while to be a cult classic
like 5 years from now we can call it that

muppets is also cancelled

Q: Is the SSR the same thing as SHIELD?

WossnameI'm confused as to the status of the SSR and SHIELD. Sometimes they seem to indicate that SHIELD was just a new name for the SSR, but other times that it was a completely new organisation. Is there any definitive info available on this in the MCU?

1:03 AM
According to the Jessica Jones showrunner, fans were mostly OK with the rape storyline and the abortion storyline. She got the most crap over Jessica + Luke because she's white and he's black

/sighs

1:20 AM
> "Jessica Jones" star Krysten Ritter has now confirmed that Netflix's "Jessica Jones" Season 2 and "The Defenders" -- the team-up series that's set to feature Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil -- will film "back-to-back."
I thought one of those actors told us that contractually they had to start filming Defenders by the end of 2016

JJ2 comes after defenders
i think defenders is set to start filming in the fall

right, but that means they'll be filming JJ2 this year or early next.
so we'll probably get both next year?

just suppose it depends on how long it all takes to film
usually a few months each at least
iron fist is filming now i think

is it?

1 hour later…

> “Every year for this show people should expect a new adventure,” said Berlanti.

user116211
every year????? WTF!!!!!

what? did you want them chasing vandal savage every season?

user116211

user116211
@phantom42 No ;( NEVER!!!

3:55 AM
every show has a different big bad/main arc every season. it's the same thing

user116211
Seriously, there would be no Savage in s2, I think.... they would start from NEW SLATE.

so what's your problem with a new adventure every year?

user116211
@phantom42 I've no problem if we don't have to see the poor performances of Kendra and indifferent attitude of Cap Hunter.

7:41 AM
@phantom42 Shit, I was actually starting to look forward to that.

@phantom42 Is he suppose to be like a homeless?

Maybe Hunter and Bobbi can return to Agents of SHIELD at least?

@DrRDizzle I am actually ignoring Non-Netflix Marvel shows
Too many shows coming.....grrrr......too much DC and marvel
Rumor says blade can come in netflix too

@AnkitSharma I'm watching everything they do for now, but I have to admit I'm sort of regretting buying the first two seasons of Agents of SHIELD on Blu-Ray. I like the show, but if it ends up being as non-canon as I'm starting to suspect it will be... well, I don't like it that much.

@DrRDizzle It's weird to call them canon when it have zero effect on the films but it's good for me because i can easily ignore them.
I have less time and too much to see

7:48 AM
@AnkitSharma Well, Guardians of the Galaxy has no effect on the other films (so far), but it's still obviously canon.

Can't complete daredevil S2 this week :/

The problem at the moment is that Agents of SHIELD keeps getting bolder in the ways that it wants to affect the universe at large, and the longer the films refuse to acknowledge that, the less canon it feels.

@DrRDizzle Netflix didn't either but there series are amazing way more good then Agent if SHIELD. My purpose is to select as less as i can to fit my time.

@AnkitSharma Have you seen Jessica Jones?

@DrRDizzle They can't as most of the MCU fan don't even give dam to the TV series. In India MCU TV series are not much famous, specially SHILED AND Carter

7:51 AM
@AnkitSharma I know that. It just makes Agents of SHIELD's decision to "go big" all the more bizarre.

@DrRDizzle I loved it, it had best MCU villain for me. Only one issue , they should have shown him purple colored in last episode at-least

@AnkitSharma I'm glad you loved it, I too love Jessica Jones.
Kilgrave was such a good bad guy.

@DrRDizzle We discussed it before here, i had issues with weak male character of JJ and you compare it with weak female character from DD S1

@AnkitSharma Yeah, I remember now.

@DrRDizzle Marvel villains always look weak to me but Kilgrave, loki and kingpin are amazing, my top 3 villains from MCU.

7:54 AM
@AnkitSharma No Punisher?

@DrRDizzle He is not villain, is he? I am at episode 4 i think and he is antihero till now
@DrRDizzle I even didn't liked Zemo, he seems overrated to me from reviews.

@AnkitSharma Zemo works better as a bad guy the second time you see it, when you can appreciate his plan and end goal from the start, rather than it being a surprise at the end. Plus, Daniel Bruhl is a great, great actor, which helps a lot.
@AnkitSharma I don't know. Wolverine is an anti-hero; The Punisher just seems like a villain, even if his villainy is focused on other bad guys.

@DrRDizzle He was ok but some critics saying it best is way overrated statement , he is better then many lame MCU villains but not best at all
@DrRDizzle Wolverine in films is hero, he never done anything anti-hero in X-men films
> An antihero (or antiheroine) is a protagonist who lacks conventional heroic qualities such as idealism, courage, or morality. These individuals often possess dark personality traits such as disagreeableness, dishonesty, and aggressiveness.

"These individuals often possess dark personality traits such as disagreeableness, dishonesty, and aggressiveness" - Wolverine is all of those.

@DrRDizzle lacks conventional heroic qualities such as idealism, courage, or morality???? no Wolverine doesn't
Deadpool did had lack of morality making him anti-hero
so does punisher but movie version of Wolverine is too heroic

8:06 AM
@AnkitSharma Wolverine is cynical, and his moral barometer is firmly "the ends justify the means". He's an anti-hero; hell, he's pretty much the prototypical anti-hero who goes through an arc that results in him caring about more than just himself over time.
Even in The Wolverine, we see him torture people and what not.
That's not a "conventional heroic quality"

@DrRDizzle I slept during The Wolverine, so please forgive me for that point ;)
In X-men 1-3 days of future past he is full hero
@DrRDizzle But the above definition completely fit for punsiher, so i can't count him as villain
Didn't know how Electra is portrayed in TV series, he is villain and anti-hero both in comics

8:21 AM
@AnkitSharma In X-Men: The Last Stand he's much more heroic. But in X-Men and X2 I'd still firmly class him as an anti-hero; it's the way he acts, his personality, how he is with other people.

@DrRDizzle leave it anti-hero term is too vague to start with ;)

@AnkitSharma That's true.

Q: Can Reverse Flash time travel?

Tamim Ad DariIn the 1st season we see that Thawne is faster than flash. Then why did he need Barry to time travel to his to open the portal, why didn't just he ran fast?

user116211
8:57 AM
@AgentObie No; he can't even walk in space, let alone TIME.

Yo, @KutuluMike: Loving your article on Marvel films/TV shows over time, but I can't find any reference that supports the idea that Marvel Studios produce Powers. Yes, it's based on a Marvel comic, but the Production Companies are listed as Circle of Confusion and Sony Pictures Television.

9:15 AM
@MAFIA36790 Maybe you can answer it, as your comment is bit of answer in itself

user116211
@AnkitSharma Answer? Well, I'm not an expert in Movies ;P

user116211

user116211
I couldn't watch the half of Arrow....

user116211
I watched the full episode ;P

@MAFIA36790 Expert O-o
Nobody is expert i think you know how to answer stuff
That's enough

user116211
9:22 AM
@AnkitSharma okay, let it go....

user116211
The breaking news is Snart is dead.

@MAFIA36790 :? Is it LoT spoiler from today's episode

user116211
@AnkitSharma yeh...

I can't watch it before Tuesday i think

user116211

@MAFIA36790 thanks

user116211
@AnkitSharma He is one of my favourites in Legends.

user116211
@AnkitSharma Does the office control the net ;((

@MAFIA36790 He is good but no character development is done from long, better be gone then ruined
@MAFIA36790 Some site categories are banned

user116211
@AnkitSharma it's time for REVOLUTION against the dictatorship of OFFICE.....

9:28 AM
lol
You mean get fired and be jobless

user116211
@AnkitSharma hahaha... no no ;)

I can access FB and Youtube which i don't. But music and some entertainment sites are banned
But most of the offices do that, nothing new

user116211
@AnkitSharma ooh....

10:44 AM
@DrRDizzle and right now it feels like feige and crew are just being petulant children. it would have taken one line of dialog to bring it all together. just mention "all these weird inhumans, and vigilantes in new york" when talking about superheroes/powers popping up all over the place. even if they don't involve the shows they can set up the links with zero effort. like mentioning "stephen strange" in TWS or something

11:03 AM
@phantom42 But why would they? What benefit does it bring the films? Regardless of how much I enjoy them, the ABC shows aren't as good as the films, and the Netflix shows are so tonally different it's hard to reconcile the two worlds.
Meanwhile, films are written well in advance of when they are filmed, which is well in advance of when they are released. Even if Feige did want a reference to Daredevil or Agents of SHIELD in Captain America: Civil War, that requires the film makers knowing where those shows are going to be years in advance of the shows themselves being written.
It's a logistical nightmare, which is why I can't ever see the crossover aspect of the MCU being a two-way street.
The exception there is the planned out in advance and released all in one go Netflix shows, but they are so radically different in tone that I struggle to see a benefit to crossing over. Can you imagine Daredevil running into battle on the runway in Captain America: Civil War? I certainly can't.

11:18 AM
@DrRDizzle Doesn't that break the whole reason of calling it canon into pieces

@DrRDizzle the benefit it brings the films is that fans of the shows become more interested in seeing the movies. The benefit it brings the shows is that fans of the movies might start watching the shows.
the real question is, what harm does it bring?
no one's expecting the movies to tie into the previous week's episode of SHIELD or have Daredevil take a break from chasing Punisher to help out Iron Man.
but you can't even mention the existance of the inhumans in some vague way, or vigilantes running around NYC, or the ATCU?

They can easily mention by, cops talking to each other and telling about a person who can control mind
No need to show DD or JJ fighting in streets

I'm 99% sure they were still filming Civil War after the previous season of AoS was done filming and they knew there was going to be an inhumans explosion this year

@KutuluMike They can add those stuff while re-shoots. A small reference can't kill ur film

pfft
i dunno why I thought Marvel was producing Powers
other than I didn't think anyone else had any licenses left over.
that sucks.

11:33 AM
What happen to that powerless ?

you have no idea how much of a pain it's going to be to fix that

@KutuluMike Sorry :(
@KutuluMike I'm willing to bet that the number of people who watch the shows that don't watch the films is negligible.

@KutuluMike ohhhhh

11:47 AM
i don't have the source images here, I'll have to fix it when i get to work

@KutuluMike Grrr.......you are repeatedly making me break my strike of not reading SE individual site blogs

last minute reshoots, pickup shots, and re-dubs are very common in films. it would have taken 1 day to get william hurt back in front of a green screen pointing to the map and say the line with "and those guys in new york" added.
the inhumans have been a thing for over a year now, and feige/the russos have full access to the plans and writers.
saying that there was no time is just factually wrong.
as is saying that they needed to know years in advance
it wouldn't take a script re-write. it doesn't change the plot or even anyones on-screen reactions in any way.

@phantom42 If it doesn't change anything. why bother spending the time or money to include them?

filming ended in august of 2015. there was plenty of time during filming to add the line
inhumans had already existed for a full season
had they done it then, it would have cost zero dollars extra

@phantom42 The outbreak hadn't happened though, season three was yet to start.

12:01 PM
daredevil had

the outbreak happened at the end of S2
by the start of S3 they were already in the middle of cleaning it up

and again, they had full access to what was going on in the other writing rooms

which is @phantom42 's point.
best case scenario is that it didn't even occur to Feige to think about what was happening on TV, and that he didn't even know.

and technically, based on our math, jessica jones had also already happened

because he's being a peteulant child about the TV/movie schism
worst case, he knew full well what was going on on the TV side and he's just being a dick

12:03 PM
@phantom42 Did they? By this point, the split between Feige and Perlmutter had already happened. Regardless of bad blood, Feige has no control over the TV side of things.

what control?
"yo, guys. whatchu doin?"

@phantom42 "Things that you don't want to have to deal with in a film that's already too long and overstuffed".

why in the hell would the TV side tell him that?
that's not their call.

"Things that introduced suddenly would be very confusing to a large portion of your audience".

"we got inhumans all over the place here, plus daredevil and JJ and punisher"

12:05 PM
@KutuluMike The idea of Inhumans is not one that can be casually referenced and never bought up again.

@DrRDizzle that is not TV's call so why would they blow off Feige like that?
just tell him what's going on and let him decide if he wants to use it.

besides, bullshit. feige is an admitted inhumans fan and they had plans for an inhumans movie. do you really think that he's not keeping tabs on the tv guys possibly messing with those plans?

@phantom42 I'm pretty sure that's why the Inhumans movie got cancelled.

@KutuluMike He obviously knows what is going on, I was making a joke. Doesn't mean that he wants to use those storylines in his film!

"if I can't have them, I'll just take my ball and go home."

12:06 PM
it can't be casually referenced, but in a purported/advertised shared universe, it can't be ignored either.

the whole appeal of SHIELD was that it's in hte MCU universe.

@phantom42 Well, it is being ignored, and it hasn't negatively impacted the films so far.

hell, we gave them a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge pass on S1 specifically because of that.
Feige had no problem telling TV to screw themselves over for 1/2 a season to stay in sync with the movies
but he can't even name-drop one stupid guy running around mass murdering people 10 miles from where you're sitting?

it's not about direct impact, it's about playing in the shared universe that they keep saying it is.

Marvel's Cloak and Dagger is also coming, i missed the whole news about it. One more sereis which is canon to MCU but can't mention each other bleh

12:08 PM
@KutuluMike Feige isn't a producer or exec producer of Agents of SHIELD, and Marvel Television (the production company that create it) isn't ran by him either.

and if you think he had nothing to do with the first season debacle on SHIELD you're delusional

and we have damage control coming too.
or we did, last i heard

"Those TV guys better not screw up my movie. you tell them not to screw up my movie."

@KutuluMike Dude, he has nothing to do with the TV side of things.

then you are delusional.

12:10 PM
at the time of AoS starting, joss was the creative consultant for the entire MCU

if you honestly think that he can't make things happen on the TV side if he wants to

and joss is the exec on AoS

@phantom42 I think there was some negative news about it but i forgot

No Feige.
Marvel Television (Perlmutter) and Marvel Film (Feige) sit next to each other on a hierarchy.

the guy is running a movie studio that's making Disney more money that any other movie franchise in history, if he tells Disney to make something happen on TV they're gonna damn sure make it happen

12:12 PM
@DrRDizzle He is working for marvel studios and he don't have right to mention TV show in a single dialogue seems too far fetched
Didn't looked like that big deal

@AnkitSharma no, dizzle thinks it costs too much money

besides which, they chose to put those shows in the same shared universe.

@phantom42 One million dollar worth of dialogue :O

@phantom42 And it isn't necessary.

they didn't have to do that.
they told us that's how it was.
and then refused to follow up on it.

12:13 PM
@KutuluMike Feige has nothing to do with the shows that claim to be part of the same universe.

again, you're insane.
if you really believe that, you're just nuts.
if you think he can't go to his and perlmutter's shared boss before S1 of SHIELD even aired and say "I don't want anything to do with those shows, that's not how I see this working"
and they're not gonna take his side

quote from feige
> "There have been discussions between myself and Eric Buckley and Dan Carroll, who is the conduit between Jeph Loeb and the runners, in terms of them saying, ‘We’re thinking of doing this, this and this - does that gibe with what you’re doing in the movies?’ And in some cases, like with the Avengers movies, it’s very close. We have to say, ‘This is happening, so you have to do this.’"

they claimed they were all in the same universe because Feige OK'd it.

feige TELLING show runners "this is happening, so you have to do this"

Most Wanted not happening, agent carter canceled, what ABC left with ?

12:15 PM
so, yes. feige absolutely has input on the shows
@AnkitSharma shield

ABC had a big shake-up in the executive level.

once upon a time

@phantom42 no please don't mention it, it hurt my feelings

ABC is the last-place network (well, not counting CW), they gutted their line-up this year.

Anyway it's not MCU

12:16 PM
the new guy was like "f this show, and f that show"

@KutuluMike CW just renew everything and also give shelter to other network's leftover like Constantine and supergirl

I still have no idea how the hell CW is going to fit Supergirl into their lineup

they need a new name DC TV

well, they are owned by WB
so it's basically that now.

@KutuluMike Yeah i know but current slate Arrow, flash, LoT , iZombie and then supergirl too
Now i have to watch supergirl too :(

12:19 PM
i think lucifer got renewed and it's not on the CW
so there's that
and isn't there another one? preacher or something?

preacher is a show about to hit. not sure of network

lucifer is in my to do list but my list is tooo long to ever complete
@phantom42 AMC
So much marvel and DC stuff and nobody give shit to helboy :'(

joss about AoS:
> I think actually the movie people were a little bit cross about the TV show. They were sort of like ‘Well you can have this but not this. And this but not that.’ It’s complicated enough as it is without me adding another layer of complication. We also created a TV show called S.H.I.E.L.D. right before they made a movie where they destroyed S.H.I.E.L.D. – so everybody’s having a GREAT time!
again, movie crew dictating to the tv crew what they can do

> Marvel has been working with screenwriter John Ridley since mid-April 2015 to craft a new television series, "reinventing" an existing Marvel character or property.[168] In January 2016, Ridley confirmed that the project was "still in development". He stated that he was looking to "bring some of the socially conscious nature" of Jessica Jones and his series American Crime to the show, while also creating something that is "straight entertainment".[169] Also in the month,
> Lee announced that ABC Studios was developing a second comedy series with Marvel, with the hope it would air on ABC,[60] and Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos stated that "all the characters in the universe could also spin out" into their own series at some point.
wow more shows in development

i'm starting to think this ransar guy is specifically and intentionally asking dupes

12:27 PM
@KutuluMike Before Captain America: Civil War, Perlmutter and Feige didn't share a boss. Perlmutter WAS Feige's boss.

there's no way someone could accidentally ask this many dupes

As far as I know, Feige has never been enthusiastic about the shows. Why would that change when he has full control over the films, rather than just partial?

GODDAMNIT i just spoiled GoT for myself.

spoiler: everyone dies
spoiler: someone has sex
spoiler: it's jay garrick

@DrRDizzle because the same company he works for also produces the TV show and he should stop being a petty about it?
the Tower of Joy scene is apparently in the episode I haven't watched yet.

12:30 PM
good news mike saved my job again

@KutuluMike Who even says it's him being petty? Perlmutter is an infamous dick.

which means they're getting remarkably close to spoiling the books.
@DrRDizzle just because Perlmutter's a dick doesn't mean Feige isn't.

@KutuluMike yeah the whole jon snow targyrain may or may not pan out in the ext couple of episodes

@KutuluMike I'm not trying to claim he's an angel. I'm trying to point out that the relationship between TV and film is far more complicated than we appreciate, and I'm willing to bet that when the book is written on the MCU, a lot of details we don't know about now will come to light that will help explain the divide more clearly.

@DrRDizzle and I'm trying to point out that those two guys are making bajillions of dollars to make content for us the fans so they should suck it up and work together even if they bitch about it when they're done.

12:33 PM
@KutuluMike No one makes anything for the fans. People make things for general audiences, and general audiences don't care.
Oh, someone mentioned Damage Control earlier; I doubt that's happening.
If Most Wanted - a spin-off to the most popular MCU related show ABC own - can't even get a season order, I can't see Damage Control getting one.

@DrRDizzle so you're telling me that perlmutter is the one saying, "no, you can't mention stuff from tv in your movies"?
because, as you pointed out, perlmutter is no longer his boss

@DrRDizzle Last we heard
> In January 2016, ABC Entertainment president Paul Lee said Damage Control was "going to be coming out this season," seemingly implying it would air in the 2016–17 television season

@AnkitSharma TBF, that was before ABC started cancelling everything

@phantom42 Yeah i know, but no news came after it or maybe i missed

@phantom42 No, because I have literally no idea what's going on behind the scenes of Marvel Studios. But neither does anyone else really, and the fact is that people seem happier to work with Feige than they did Perlmutter. Between that and Perlmutter infamously spiteful nature, I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised if it is Perlmutter who is making things difficult.

12:40 PM
Most Wanted would just be Agents of SHIELD with less people.

what sort of hypothetical way could perlmutter make things difficult and somehow prevent feige and the russos from mentioning inhumans or kilgrave

Damage Control would be a different show that could reach different audiences.

At-last DC have more success rate for launching TV shows

@DrRDizzle everyone who pays to see a MCU movie or buys Netflix to watch Daredevil is a fan.

Except Constantine, most of them are renewed , not counting supergirl as it's fate is unknown

12:43 PM
those people don't give a rats ass about behind the scenes.

@AnkitSharma It's been moved to the CW.

they think "marvel wants me to watch this TV show, so i do. Marvel wants me to buy Netflix to see these shows, so I do. Marvel wants me to watch this movie, so I do. Aren't these all Marvel? why do they not seem like they're all the same thing?"
at least when DC decided to fracture their universe it was obvious.
two flashes, two deadshots, two wallers, etc.

@phantom42 I have literally no idea, but I've heard it was difficult to even get a kid wearing a Captain America costume into Jessica Jones (which is why the Avengers building doesn't appear in the shows). Like I said, it's a mess.

@DrRDizzle Do CW even have any slot left? There is no official announcement either

Marvel is specifically not making their TV shows and movies separate universes, otherwise we might get a spider-man cameo in Defenders
@AnkitSharma it's been moved to CW, that's not in question.
the only question is when it's going to start airing

12:45 PM
@KutuluMike except DC keeps making every show be set in the same universe, no matter how little sense it makes.

@RogueJedi no, they specifically don't.
the CW shows and the movies are not in the same universe

@KutuluMike I meant every show

lucifer and izombie and gotham are also not in the same universe

For now.

"According to The Financial Times, when Don Cheadle was hired at a much cheaper rate to replace Terrence Howard in the Iron Man franchise, Perlmutter allegedly told former chairman of Disney consumer products Andy Mooney that no one would notice because black people “look the same.” Mooney has since left, reportedly over conflicts with Perlmutter, and he was quickly followed out the door by three African-American female executives who have since sought settlements."

12:47 PM
the only shows that share a universe are the 4 that are being produced by the same 3 guys.
@DrRDizzle no one ever said Perlmutter wasn't a jackass. I fail to see the relevance.
I bet there's tens of thousands of people in TV/movies that are jackasses.

Upcoming preacher and powerless also seems not related to any DC show

just do your job and I won't care

@KutuluMike No relevance, I just can't believe that a human being would say that in the modern day.

oh, that's true.
assuming he said that, he's a prick.
though I wonder how he still has a job after losing 4 executives.

12:49 PM
@KutuluMike He owns a lot of stock in something important. I think he's basically untouchable.

@DrRDizzle meh. no one in a corporation is untouchable, especially if he costs then $$$$ in harassment lawsuits

@DrRDizzle which sounds like the movie guys being dicks

OK, I think I've got this figured out (finally). Marvel Studios and Marvel Entertainment are both owned by Disney and ran by Feige and Perlmutter respectively, at an equal level. Marvel Entertainment owns Marvel Television, which puts Marvel Televison lower down the ladder than Studios.

"Perlmutter" is such a sleazy name.

12:54 PM
@phantom42 Or Perlmutter cutting his own nose off to spite his face.

@MAFIA36790 mobile chat changed a few weeks ago

@MAFIA36790 Yeah but it's still lame
What Powerless is coming on NBC, means it's going to be canceled ...bleh ...tehn CW will hijack it too

@phantom42 not the chat but the sites.

@ankit: Why don't they make a Windows app?

Think of it this way. If Joss Whedon failed to include a reference to a TV show he created, produced by his production studio and ran by his brother while acting as the creative consultant for the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe and directing the sequel to the most successful superhero film of all time when the TV and film sides were under one roof, why would it be easier now they aren't?

That's Joss's failure
Other don't have to repeat it
