@Flimzy What verse do you feel is saying that he is "eternally distinct from his creations"?

@SabreTooth Good and evil appear to be genetic? Where are you getting this from?
some studies suggest that the capacity for evil deeds may be genetic... thats why I wrote it in uncertain ways
apparantly, I am the Antichrist according to this guy...lol
@fredsbend remember, I do not see the world in any form of religious eyes, only science
@SabreTooth Yes, I understand that. I still have trouble with the statement. How is evil defined exactly here? Perhaps the study was more about conscience and guilt.
Can you find the study? I'd like to read it.
I wish I could find it!
people like the owner of this room are a major reason I became Atheist
08:40
@SabreTooth He's using the term as in "the spirit of the Antichrist" meaning, what you are saying and doing is against the will of Christ. It's a very archaic usage, but legitimate in theological circles.
Kind of like the word cult.
lol, it is hilarious to me, to be honest
Means something else in popular culture.
in any case, I have the room owner on ignore
@SabreTooth Since it seems it was a study on ethics, this is where I stand on that currently:
in knowing things, Oct 31 at 19:17, by fredsbend
My point here is that though any ethical system sounds good within its elevator pitch, they all have flaws that can only be remedied by incorporating aspects of other ethical systems. And what we incorporate and reject will change through out the generations as the culture changes.
Plus there's a bit more if you click through.
that's pretty good!
08:47
Basically, ethics are a sociological science.
Thanks.
@fredsbend exactly!
Yes, the room owner is ... odd. I'm not sure how he behaves and talks to people in person, but I would be interested to find out [not an invitation to ask for my contact info].
but, it is good to see he has a passion for what he believes
@SabreTooth If you say so.
Passion is unbridled by nature.
Unbridled natures are undirected in action.
Undirected action can lead to rash actions.
Rash actions can be horribly, horribly awful.
true, just as long as he stays on his side of the keyboard
08:59
May I ask you a personal question and hopefully not insult you?
go for it
Remember I'm interested in conversions and what might bring them about.
You seem particularly eager to announce that you do not believe any of the religious stuff that is being discussed in any given chatroom. What does that seem important to you?
that is not offensive
You never know.
I think the words I originally had in my head were different but I've forgotten them now.
The filters are working.
I see titles such as "Structure of God" and "Knowing things" and come in to challenge them
lol my filters often fail me
I am rather proud of that one
@SabreTooth Well that answers your motive for visiting. Doesn't answer why you think its necessary to proclaim your current disbelief without being prompted.
I guess I am challenging those who make these kinds of rooms to tr and convince me that I am wrong, that I am missing something
so far, they confirm my beliefs

I want to make a correction, I made a typo here: "This is as it was before Theos and Logos when it was only Existence and the Physical and Logos(Reason). For reason entered as a fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. " It should be saying...
This is as it was before Logos(Reason) when it was only Existence and the Physical and Theos(The Mind). For reason entered as a fruit of the knowledge of good and evil.
Wikipedia states the following here: (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logos_%28Christianity%29)
In Christology, the concept that the Christ is the Logos (Greek: Λόγος for "word", "discourse" or "reason") has been important in establishing the doctrine of the divinity and morality of Jesus Christ and his position as God the Son in the Trinity as set forth in the Chalcedonian Creed.
The concept derives from the opening of the Gospel of John, which is often simply translated into English as: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." In the translations, "Word" is used for Logos (λόγος), but in theological discourse, this is often left untranslated.
--
For the words Theos (Mind) and Logos (Reason), equate to The Father and the Son, equate to Existence and the Physical.
Wikipedia states the following here: (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_%28word%29)
Greek "θεός " (theos) means God in English. It is often connected with Greek "θέω" (theō), "run", and "θεωρέω" (theoreō), "to look at, to see, to observe"
--
So this statement is to the perspective of the humans, not to the nature of God. For reason can exist before knowledge of it. Here is a proof: A child who knows not the reason walks into Poison Ivy. The Rash begins to develop on the child. The reason for the rash has always existed. The knowledge of that reason however did not exist to the humans.
--
Other words that grow similarly to that of Theos: Theory (a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something), Theism (View that all observable phenomena are dependent on but distinct from one supreme being.)
This need for distinction between "Observable Phenomena" hence the Physical meaning the Son, and the One Supreme Being meaning the Father, is intended to show how the two work together.
For processing what we see, that it of the mind. Why we see it is reason "the knowledge of good and evil".
12:37
Logos was with Theos before man kind. So we can decipher that Adam and Eve where given only a part of the Son, that of Physical Reality, but not that of Reason. The woman continues her search for reason. I heard somewhere that Men are Hows and women are Whys. She feeds man why, so he dies, and is given the curse.

With reason a division occurs, between that which agrees and that which does not agree. Since we are born with reason. Finding Unity to the All was an impossibility without Jesus.
