Teams Premium will include Chat GPT features
> The premium service will cost $7 per month in June before increasing to $10 in July, Microsoft said. OpenAI-owned ChatGPT will generate automatic meeting notes, recommend tasks and help create meeting templates for Teams users.

How is this question/answer so highly rated?
https://dba.stackexchange.com/q/322895/88609

but how did it even get into HNQ?

It doesn't take much on a slow day

I like that chatGTP added the ordering for determinism

I'll have a quick check at the voting

Taken care of.

Good morning. In SQL Server, is the lock compatibility matrix the same regardless if an optimistic concurrency isolation level is used vs a pessimistic one? If not, does anyone have a resource by any chance for the optimistic concurrency lock compatibility matrix?

Same, yes

Gotcha, thanks!
Btw that article you posted yesterday on Optimized Locking was interesting. Hopefully on SQL Server one day.

Yeah

in the good old days, five people would have yelled at that guy for wanting to store csv data

1:51 PM
Yeah, well, benefit of the doubt there. He says he wants to create a new table, but I think it more likely it's a result set.
I really dislike the terms pessimistic and optimistic to describe isolation levels
What conclusion did you come to for read uncommitted?
Hopelessly optimistic, perhaps

yeah let's rename stuff
right here in this chat
and force it upon the masses
let's be tastemakers
i think we could rename the isolation based on sobriety level

snapshot being around the Balmer peak?
yeah I don't think that's going to work

let's not bring balmer into this

it's a weird non-linear sort of scale
is completely alcohol-free worse than the opposite end of the spectrum
there's undeniably a sweet spot

Sobriety vs Death, tricky one

My documented high score in that game is .38.

how was your coma?
i hope it was a restful api

Too short for my liking at the time.

did you go to waffle house after

That would have been a good move. Although I probably would have fit in better before rather than after.

I'm pretty sure this is Erik's goal, to hit over .45 and stay alive

I remember the doctor expressing surprise that I was able to talk to him.

Look at Josh, breaking glass ceilings
Also, I really really really hate this whole .net interop crap
I can see why people don't want to do it

I said "oh yeah, I do this all the time" which I intended to be helpful but just got a lot of stuff written in my chart and a psych consult.

Masochism

@JoshDarnell top notch

so what's everyone working on today
i'm counting on you to inspire me

I'm making a bunch of semi-pointless changes to web apps for security compliance reasons. I apologize that it's not very inspiring.

c'mon josh
lie to me
this morning i fixed a problem by specifying cursor options
i did not use fast forward

I'm working on automating things in the cloud and also working on some dump automation stuff
I probably should buy 25 minutes of Josh's time

as josh's agent i object
there is a one hour minimum on my client's time

I request negative 25 minutes then

denied, pay up

@ErikDarling I'm kinda free today, so just chilling

I'll give you 4 eggs

plus interest

apparently that's worth like $80 in NYC

@Lamak what are you gonna do? some journaling?

took a nice breakfast on the company's dime, reading a little and escaping from the heat

3:10 PM
Sounds like Lamak works at Google

there aren't many days like this here, so just making the most of it

Q: How two phases locking ensures serializable?

Quốc Khánh BùiI have read many sources, and they say one of the ways to implement serializable in the database is to use two-phase locking. But I don't really understand how two-phase locking could ensure serializable in this example from Jim Gray. An example is we have two rows in the database, one has the va...

A: Update Statistics on a 4 billion record table - SQL Server 2016

Marcello MiorelliDepending on the usage of your data I would not update those stats. At least not for those tables. I have some tables like those you described, and I have no stats on them, there are a few settings that you need to turn, and when addressing such tables, I generally tweak improve (a mechanism or s...

Q: Can anyone comment on the validity of an optimization done on an upsert query by ChatGPT?

@ErikDarling templates, templates, templates. tweaking my old templates and entering metadata and parameters to code generate all kinds of SQL for a new type of cardiac finding in my data warehouse. Until one day ChatGPT can write code that writes code that writes code.
And good morning
I deleted some obsolete files too, so that was nice.

@CadeRoux new cardiac findings! scary!

@ErikDarling establishing world domination as always
@mustaccio Allowed? Sure. Why not? Popular? That's a different question.
For that particular question, one could replace "Chat GPT" with "my friend Dave". It's not unanswerable.
You might choose not to answer it, or be unable to, but that's a different thing

@ErikDarling Lol, well they are a new type of thing we have curated into the data warehouse product, not new overall.
