2:40 PM
Very quiet chat this week. . . People on vacation?

2:50 PM
@HDE226868 I feel like a "your mom" joke is in order...
but most of them were pretty...lets just say...bad.

3:47 PM
@James Your mom was the reason God couldn't get the World Peace part to work when he made the world.

4:30 PM
@23fc9a62-56de-47fb-97b4-737890 I actually believe that.

Good. I don't have to argue about it now.

She's kinda nuts.
...like chaotic neutral nuts.

LOL, that's roughly what I think my alignment is.
Laws are made to be broken, but I've got a fairly strict personal moral code.

I follow the law when it makes sense to me...I think that makes me neutral on the Law<--->Chaos Scale

I also think I'd enjoy playing either a rogue or a ranger, based on OOTS.

4:37 PM
I try to be good but fail so I probably waver between Neutral Good and True Neutral.

Although, my ranger wouldn't be a murder-hobo like Belkar.

@23fc9a62-56de-47fb-97b4-737890 Rangers are interesting...but they always seem underpowered.

I like his tracking ability, though.
I'm no tracker in real life, but I'm usually a bit more observant than all the other non-trackers around me.

@23fc9a62-56de-47fb-97b4-737890 You'd need a decent wisdom and proficiency in Perception. :D

Would it be possible for me to play some NPC's sometime to try out traits without committing to one for a whole game?
I mean, committing to a type.

4:43 PM
@23fc9a62-56de-47fb-97b4-737890 Certainly.
Playing as the monster/enemy can be pretty entertaining.

2 hours later…
6:21 PM
Darn, looks like I missed the burst of conversation today...

7:06 PM
@AndyD273 BOOM! BAM! OTHER EXPLOSION NOISES!
Hows it goin dude

7:30 PM
@James Pretty good. Wishing there were several of me at the moment...

@AndyD273 ...argh...what is that movie reference.
Dude makes copies, one goes to work, one hangs out with the family and then the copies make a copy and he is kinda dumb...

@James Multiplicity?

Thank you!
That was going to bug the crap out of me.

Yeah, kinda like that, except I want to share a consciousness between them.

@AndyD273 Ideally that would be optional...

7:32 PM
But having distinct me's might be better than nothing
Have you played/seen the game Soma?

@AndyD273 Not familiar.
I just asked a question for the first time in forever...

The story is kind of relevant... How do you feel about game spoilers for a game you've never heard of?

@AndyD273 As the odds of me getting to it are slim, spoil away.

OK, so you're this person who has some kind of disease. You go in for a new kind of brain scan, and the second the machine starts everything goes dark and you wake up in some deep sea base. Eventually you figure out that you're just a copy of the original in a machine body, it's several hundred years after the originals death, and because of cataclysm of some kind the surface of the earth is uninhabitable. The base has a way to launch a satellite into orbit, and so you go through the whole base, transfering to new bodies periodically, and eventually make it to the launch facility, where you
@James What question?
The point being, if I make a copy, I want the copy to also be me, so I'm not missing out on stuff. Two (or many) bodies, one mind.

Q: Architectural feasibility of a tiered circular stone keep

JamesI have created in my world a keep that lies inside a walled courtyard. Artistically I have designed the keep to rise in three tiers not unlike a wedding cake. (Though the castle is made of stone not batter. Less delicious but decidedly stronger) Like so: After some initial searches online...

Not circular, but probably not that hard to cut the corners off
The Step Pyramid of Djoser

8:20 PM
It seems like the real problem with the keep is that if you took out the inner load bearing walls it would all fall down... but that's true of any structure.
So yeah, I don't see why it would be difficult. Might just have support pillars and archways

Yeah found those, I want the floors to be open rather than filled in with packed dirt/rock with at best tiny little passageways/rooms.

@James Yeah, I figured. I still think it could be done using arches to support the upper floors.
Though, cake is not open inside usually.

@AndyD273 lol that would be so disappointing.

1 hour later…
9:33 PM
Dear FBI:
Please note that I'm really not as dangerous as my latest purchases seem.
My Kabar is more of a survival/utility knife. I only use it to clear brush and when in unfamiliar territory I could get lost in.
My assault pen is a gift for my brother, who likes weapons.

@James Hey, same. High five.
I like cakes and castles, too. . .

@HDE226868 People seem to be not great at following directions...or they just don't read the entire question.

9:50 PM
@James sigh

@HDE226868 But then that bothers me less that adult professionals that are unable to read emails or typed instructions.
